Does Xanax make you not care about (or love) things and people in your life anymore when used over an extended period of time? ## Xanax will change your entire way of life while calming you down. It is a very effective medicine that comes with a dark side of dependence and withdrawal ## Yes, as Eddy has stated, it can cause such things, in some people that take it. According to the NIH, that can happen to some people with most anxiety medications and antidepressants. It also carries the risk of being habit forming and a sudden abrupt withdrawal can create the risk of seizures, according to the FDA. If it is becoming a real problem for you, you should inform your doctor, as you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

The biggest problem reported currently is relapse, when the medication is discontinued. You can read more about antidepressants here: As to any cardiac effects, I am only finding warnings that problems may occur if it is used with some specific other medications. But i felt fine taking them is it bad? ## Hello, Delwynne! How are you? There are risks with taking any medication on a long-term basis, but many people do require them for the rest of their lives, be it an antidepressant, a heart medication, a blood thinner, or a blood pressure medication. I am wondering if anybody else out there has taken Hydrocodone and noticed that symptoms of depression are alleviated? I find that many of today's anti-anxiety and antidepressant drugs come with unpleasant side effects, whereas while taking Hydrocodone they aren't there. The caveat to all of this is that yes, I know that Hydrocodone and opiates in general can be addictive. So long term use would result in withdrawal symptoms. I'm just wondering who else might agree with me on this? ## I have taken dozens of antidepressants as well as been prescribed antipsycotics and other meds for off-label usage, and nothing has worked effectively over the past 15 years. I will take hydrocodone for a chronic pain condition, and, YES, oh my goodness, YES, it seems to make me immune to a dep...
