Lo Loestrin Fe Missed Period

I started Lo Loestrin Fe four months ago. I am currently in the first week of my fourth pack. The first month, I had brown spotting for about 5 days two weeks before my period came. My period during the first pack lasted around 7 days, like it usually does, and arrived on time. The second pack, I had brown spotting instead of my period. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. However, my period then came the second week of the third pack (which was really weird to me because my period always came during the last four pills of the pack). At the end of the third pack, I had three days of brown spotting when I was supposed to get my period. I am currently on the first week of the fourth pack, patiently waiting to see what will happen next. Can my diet and exercise have something ...

I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal? ## Yes, it can be. These do contain hormones, to prevent pregnancy and they can affect different people in different ways. Some women will menstruate regularly and some won't. There is really no harm in skipping, but if you are concerned about it, you should consult your doctor. Many women use their birth control to skip their menstrual cycle, especially for important events, such as marriage or vacations. Have you contacted your doctor? ## i started taking lo loestrin fe the first day of my last period and during the 3rd week i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. i had been having breakthough bleeding. I've been taking lo loestrin for for about 6 Months now. I have always got my period on the white/ brown pills. This month I never got my period. I'm on the 4th blue pill on the next pack and still nothing. I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks after and it was negative. Is this normal to miss a period / should I be worried? ## Hello, Lo! How are you? Yes, skipping a period can be normal, when taking oral contraceptives, some women don't have them, at all, on this one. There's no reason to worry, unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking my pills very regularly everyday but there was one night a threw up a few hours after taking my pill and am afraid I might have thrown it up. I have had intercourse once this month but can not remember if it was before or after throwing up the pill. Well I had extremely light spotting the days of when my period was supposed to come and two days after my "missed" period I took three first reponses and they all came back negative. It is my fourth month on this pill and the first three periods were regular. Could I be pregnant? Should I take another test? ## Hi, Emily! How are you? Such irregularities can be normal when you are taking hormonal contraceptives and after several months on them, they usually do make your periods much lighter. However, if you bled, ...

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 3 months now. I had irregular spotting for the first 2 months, and probably because I was fairly bad about taking the pill at the same time every day, and missed a couple days. But this past month I have been very consistent in taking it every single day at around the same time. Despite this, I have not had any bleeding or spotting during the iron pill days....is this normal? I feel as if my body is just finally adjusted to the pill, but should I be concerned? I'm highly stressed out about this, and I took a test this morning, but it came up "invalid" though I'm pretty sure I did everything correct with it. Any help or advice would be great! I'm not in the same town as my gyno since I'm on summer break, but I just need answers! #...

OK, so I was on lutera first for 5 months. I got off it around like beginning of Feb then I got onto lo loerestrin fe. I missed pill the first month but I still bled 2 times that month. Now I am more consistent and took every pill around the hour I'm supposed to and of course I had just 2 little tiny spots of blood, that was it and I've been cramping and no bleeding. I never missed a period but I am new to birth control pills. The first was that lutera and I'm 29 with 1 daughter. I been on this lo loerestrin fe for at least 4.5 months now and I always bled the first 3 months of it and now I have no period not even consider spotting only 2 little spot when wiped that was it tried tampon and no blood. I'm worried. I was sequel with my fiance but less only like 3 times this...

so I started lo loestrin fe 3 months ago. before starting I had never missed a period and they always came on the predicted days. When I started the pills, the first 2 packs I got my period on the white and brown pills like normal. Now, I ended my 3rd pack and still no period. This morning I started my first blue pill on the 4th pack. I am just slightly worried because I never got a period and something like this has never happened to me. I had intercourse but it was always protected. plus, I am very good about taking my pills at the exact same time each day. but once in the third month I took my pill like 4 hours late. also I have had a really odd sleeping schedule, could that throw things off? I feel like I could start at any moment. I have cramps down there that feel like period cram...

I have been on this pill for 11 months now... since September 2014. My periods were irregular at first but started to become more regular. In the middle of June I missed 2 pills in a row. I took them both the next day however. I then started my period a week early right after I took those 2 pills late (I was camping with girls who were on their period, so I figured that's why I started early). Once I got off of my period, I had unprotected intercourse with my boyfriend. I have not missed a pill since those 2 in June but it is now time that I should be having my period if it is a normal 26-32 day cycle. I usually wouldn't start until the end of the month but last month I started in the middle. I am worried because I have been experiencing what could be pregnancy symptoms. I notic...

I have been on this pill for at least 4 months and I have not had my usual bleeding, I still have sore nipples, cramps, and occasional bloating but not period. I'm relieved and happy to see so many women out there using this pill and having the same worry as I do! I will still talk to my obgyn, but its nice to know that we are not alone is our circumstances! ## Hello, Zana! How are you? Many women don't have periods, while taking this oral contraceptive and it's nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi guys! I have been taking Lo loestrin Fe for four months now. I have had a normal period in these months. They usually come 2-3 days early and are light. But this month I did not get a period and I am now 6 days almost seven days late. I have however, had spotting for the last couple of days but only in the morning for an hour and at night for around 30 minutes. I asked my mom about it and she's scared I might be pregnant. I have missed a pill or two and don't take them the same hour every day. It varies. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or should I be taking an at home pregnancy test? ## Hello Addy! How are you? Yes, if you've missed a couple of pills, then a pregnancy test would be a good idea. However, changes to your period, such as it just being spo...

I am on my first pack of lo loestrin fe pills. I started my period on the second week. I have since missed 2 pills back to back in the fourth week. Now on the third day in the fourth week, i have my period again. Is this normal ? ## Yes, irregular bleeding can occur whenever you start new hormonal contraceptives for about the first 3 months. Then to compound it, you missed pills, which basically induces your menstrual cycle and during the last week of the pack, there are inactive pills that are intended to induce it. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## I am on my brown pills I started today. Do I take the brown pills and start new pack after those are done or do I start a new pack because I started after the white pillls?

I have been on the birth control aubra for 5 months and usually bled during my 7 day placebo week. However I recently changed brands to lo loestrin fe. I finished the whole pack and I have not gotten my period I'm a little nervous but I always took my pills on time and never missed one. I didn't spot or have any break through bleeding either. I started a pack when I would have started my old birth control pack as that's what the website told me to do. Is there any way that I could be pregnant or is missing a period normal? ## The only way to be sure, of course, is to check for pregnancy, but skipping periods, or having irregular cycles can be normal side effects of oral contraceptives, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, and h...

I've been on lo loestrin for 2 months. I take my second brown pill of my 2nd pack tomorrow. I've never missed a pill & take them within a few hrs diff a day every so often when it has slipped my mind. ( have a phn reminder now). Anyway, I've never had a bc where I've missed a period. I have been spotting very lightly to where a thin pad/liner will do the job. I've been cranky & bloating & cramping like always but have had no real bleeding. I don't think I'm prego but I am concerned. Everything I've been reading is talking ab where girl's are bleeding like crazy & I'm hvn the opposite effect. I mean, it's kinda nice not really hvn a period this month but should I be concerned? Also, does anyone hv to pee a lot on this? I mean fo...

Hi. I just took the last brown pill in my second pack of Lo Loestrin Fe. I have not bled at all yet. On the first pack I had bad cramping on the last white pill and then spotted on the first brown. Such light spotting that I only needed a panty liner for 2 days. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about pregnancy? I've never missed a pill and started the first pack when I was supposed to start the new pack of my old birth control, Yasmin. I am switching back. This pill is making me insane with worry. ## yes, its very normal. light spotting on lo lo estrin or lo estrin is what a lot of people experience. ## Gia's answer is correct. Contraceptives, such as this, contain hormones to prevent ovulation, which prevents pregnancy and changing the amount of hormones in your body can c...

I was supposed to start taking my new pack of Lo Loestrin Fe last Thursday but was on vacation and couldn't get it filled till today. My period ended up being longer because of all this and just ended yesterday. Does anyone know if it's for ok me to start the new pack today ( a week from when i was supposed to?) or if i should wait till my next period. Thanks! ## Unless your doctor has specified otherwise, you can actually start them at any time during your cycle, however, if you start now then you will need to use additional protection to prevent pregnancy for the first 7 days. The reason they instruct most women to start on the first day of their menstrual cycle is because then you are immediately protected and no other contraception is necessary. I'm on the forth week of my bc pack. Already finished with the blue pills. I missed my first white pill but took it the next day with my other white pill at the same time. And today I start my brown placebo pills. I also had intercourse the day I took both white pills. Am I protected? Or should I take plan b? ## Hello, Mackenzie! How are you? Plan B is only effective in the first 5 days, after intercourse, so it wouldn't do any good to take it now. It's most effective in the first 24 hours, retains most efficacy for 72 hours, then its effectiveness at preventing pregnancy dwindles and after day 5, it does nothing. Did you start your period? The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthro...

Well crap. I missed the last white pill. The brown are placebos so im bot worried. Im on my period now, so Im not preg (yay!)... but should I start the next pack now, or two (brown pill) days from now? ## Hello, Sara! How are you? You should start the new pack on the normal day, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. That late in your cycle, the chances of it having allowed ovulation to occur are very slim, but you should use backup protection for the first 7 days of the new pack, just to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi...I'm new to bc...should I expect my period the week I'm schedule to take to white and brown pills? ## Hi guys, I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for about 3 months. I forgot to take the last blue pill last night @ 9:00. I had unprot...

Last month I took all the blue pills but I skipped the white and brown pills. I know the 2 brown pills are just iron pills but is it bad that I skipped the white ones too? ## Hello, Kate! How are you? No, the white ones have no active ingredients in them, whatsoever, so it doesn't matter if you skip them. Is there anything else I can help with? ## The other response is wrong! I just started this pill and was confused myself. The patient insert does indicate that the white pills have estrogen! I didn't take them either! But will from now on! I wish my doctor had told me...I'm so used to the white pills being inactive! ## The white pills have *estrogen* in them. What they are missing is the progestin. Without progestin, your body starts having a period. That's why it's...

I started taking this birth control in Sept 2016. It has been great taking this pill until I missed my period on the last week of Jan and I just took my last brown pill before starting a new pack and nothing. I have cramps, but i havent started. I've been active, but we use protection every time. Should I be concerned? ## There is never any harm in checking for pregnancy, if you're concerned, but it can be normal to skip periods while taking an oral contraceptive, according to NIH reports, some women stop experiencing periods altogether, while taking them. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
