My psychiatrist prescribed me 450 mg of lithium twice a day. I'm supposed to take my first dose tonight but i'm VERY afraid it's going to harm me. I am also taking 5mg of Risperdal and a half a mg of Klonopin as needed for anxiety. I've read a lot of horror stories about Lithium and i'm afraid that the first dose could hurt me. Should i be worried? ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? Lithium is most commonly used to treat the manic episodes of manic depression. As to the horror stories, I want to make you aware that mostly what you'll find online are tales from people that have had problems with a medication, because the millions that are taking it successfully, without problems have no need to go hunting information online about it. Thus, what you're reading is r...

iv heard some talk about this drug , where can it be bought at , do I need a doctor to prescribe it .... ## Apparently there is a book called "Miracle from the Vault" (by the Health Sciences Institute) that's supposed to tell you what it is and where you can get it at. I for one haven't come across any specific details regarding H-86 outside of what some users have been posting here on the site. So far everything from wheat germ to weight loss, or diabetes have been mentioned, so unfortunately it's hard to say what's real and what isn't. What I can do is redirect you to another discussion thread here that may offer more information on the topic: Discuss/h-86-cancer-cure-250866.htm If you find out a legitimate source for H-86, I'd be interested in hearing ...

I am 22 and have had depression for as long as I can remember. After many failed attempts of "natural" methods (medicine, acupuncture, neurofeedback) I went to a psychiatrist and am now taking Lithium carbonate 300mg for a week. So far I don't feel any difference. I've been reading other people's experiences and they at least report minor side effects for the first few days or week like being sleepy or losing train of thought. I haven't felt a thing. I know my depression is deep and I might need a bigger dose, but shouldn't I have at least felt SOMETHING by now? Thanks in advance ## Dear Nikinice, my dad suffered from severe depression and after trying a bunch of meds, they put him on lithium. Sometimes it can take a little longer 4 some people 2 feel it work...

My doctor is tapering me off of lithium treatment slowly due to random huge painful cysts on my face after 10 yrs of treatment. I was on a therapeutic level of 900mgs at bedtime for the beginning 8 yrs, gradually downgraded with blood levels always being fine. Im 100 lbs. I workout often. I cant take these cysts anymore so getting lowered with frequent and professional monitoring and blood level checks. However, I'm curious to know how long it remains in my body as I have not been able to get to my pharmacy due to the weather in my work the past two days and missed my 575 milligram dose the past two nights. I'm curious to know if it is still in my body? Or will i experience any bad Random side effects? being that I haven't had it for two nights? Not saying I should just stop...

who is the manufacturer and their address ## I've been taking lithium carbonate for many years. Having gone off it for six months (before the Hopkins study showed that this reduced efficacy) I have been in a position to supplement it. My therapist hit on lomictal. (One of my main symptoms is recurrent anxiety, taking the lithium by itself.) I've been takting the lomictal at a low dose for three weeks and it seems to work. Except yesterday the anxiety--clearly of a biochemical rhythm--came back. It's a low level, but still interferes with work and family. Does this medication have any interactions with the following drugs: Lamictal, Lithium Carbonate, Glucophage, Buspirone? ## Based on my research, there are several drug interactions listed between the medications you mentioned. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using lithium together with (Glucophage) metformin can decrease the effects of metformin, which can lead to hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). Talk with your doctor before using lithium while you are using metformin. You may need a dose adjustment and you may need to check your blood sugar more often." The interaction below applies to the following drug combinations: lithium & buspirone buspirone & chlordiazepoxide/clidinium buspirone & Lamictal (lamotrigine) lithium & Lamictal (lamo...
