1 REPLY Filed under Nausea & VomitingIve been on the depo for 11 yrs and have never had a period. I got off the shot in February bc I wanted to conceive but hadn't had a regular period until last month August 26. It lasted for 7 days and it was awful!!! I just started my period today and it is very painful and heavy. My boyfriend comes home Wednesday and I dont want to still be on my period. If I start taking lo loestrin Sunday will it help stop my period? ## Unfortunately, there is no way to say for sure, plus if you are taking it, you will most likely not be able to conceive, since it is also used to prevent pregnancy. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, and PMS-like symptoms. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

My tummy feels weird every morning and I'm just wanting to know how long it will take to get my period again and is this normal? I want my body back to normal. ## It can take a couple of months for your body to balance your hormones back out on its own and for things to return to normal, but if you go past 3 months without a period, you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the other withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi. 8 REPLIES Filed under JadelleHi, This is my first time taking birth control period. I started the pack on the 21st of last month. I finished the brown pills & started the new pack a few days ago. Was I supposed to wait for my period to come before starting the new pack? Or am I ok? ## Hello, Whit! How are you? No, you are fine, you are supposed to continue to the new pack, regardless of whether or not you have a period. Some women don't have them, while taking oral contraceptives. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
1 REPLY Filed under Minastrin 24 FeMy period was due on 02/13/2016. I started taking metronidazole 500 mg tablets (2 per day for 5 days) and my period did not come. Is something wrong with me? ## Hello, Jane! How are you? Actually, it's very common for antibiotics to cause a longer cycle in some women that take them, so you may not start for a few more days, or until after you finish your course of treatment. If you don't start, at all, within a few days of finishing them, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the other possible effects of antibiotics as typically including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Oh and yes, I have personal experience with this, I usually start around day 27 of my cycle, but that last time I took antibiotics, I didn't start until day 32....
2 REPLIES Filed under MetronidazoleI started my sprinted birth control on May 24th and I had intercourse on June 4th. I did miss some pills but after intercourse I also took a plan b pill anyways to be sure! My period still has not come!! ## Hello, Lori! How are you? Missing the pills, coupled with taking the Plan B has likely thrown your hormone levels off, so your period may be late or skipped this month. If you're concerned, please consult your doctor, but it's most likely nothing to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, irregular bleeding, headache, weight changes, and irritability. Have any of you checked for pregnancy?
3 REPLIES Filed under GelatinI started my first pack of tri-sprintec on 6/22, as per my doctor. Apparently it went against my natural cycle, as my period came as scheduled on 6/26 and lasted until 7/2 (a bit longer than normal). I have continued to take the pills as prescribed and understand that my body needs to adjust to the hormones, but should I expect another period to come when I start the white pills (on 7/13)? I know that ultimately, I will end up there since that is the point, as they are the inactives, I just want to be prepared. Thank you! ## Hello, Elizabeth! How are you? It is normal to experience irregular bleeding for the first 3 months, or so, while your body adjusts to the hormones. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes. And yes, you w...

9 REPLIES Filed under AntibioticsI am a medical supply distributor. I need a resource that will tell me what products can and can not be sold to a Home Care Agency. Specifically we are questioning whether 250 ml NaCl (saline) can be sold to an agency for wound irrigation but other products come up periodically and we want to make sure we are handling things appropriately. ## What country are you looking for information on? Not all countries use the same drug schedules and, even with those that do, they are not identical for all of them.

6 REPLIES Filed under Women's Health / FertilityI am a male 67. I take glycomet 850 twice a day. I am type 2 from past 28 years. Dosage increased from 250 to 850 over a period of time. I am having erectile dysfunction from past 3 years. Now it is total. I need help to over come this. ## Actually, the erectile dysfunction is most likely due to the diabetes and not the medication you take to treat it. Diabetes is very well known to cause it and many men end up needing treatment for it. Have you informed your doctor? What are your usual blood sugar readings? Do you watch your diet to minimize your sugar and fat intake? The typical side effects of Glycomet, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia. ## It can also be due to stress or can be several reason behind it and unfortu...
