Can I take two 5mg of Lisinopril to equal 10mg of Lisinopril? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? Yes, the only time this would be a problem would be if the formulations were different, for instance if one was time released and one wasn't. But yes, if you already have some 5mg ones and your doctor raised it to 10mg, then you can usually just go ahead and double up to finish what you already have. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello I have been taking a blue oval lisnopril 10-12.5 hctz once day. Can I cut this dose in half as I feel that dose is to high for me. There is no score line but have a pill cutter.. ## Ask your Doctor he/she may have something better in mind for you. Don't be doing such things on your own unless ;you are your own MD. ## I'm not suggesting you do this without discussing it with your doctor first, but I will say that cutting a pill in half to take a smaller dosage should not be a major concern as long as the tablet is not an extended/time-released formula. The notion that doing such a thing may be harmful without a doctor's supervision or say so, is "not always true" in my experience. In cases like this, taking the full dosage or tablet more than likely presents a g...

I've taken 10mg Lisinopril with success for 9 days. Lowered my BP from 140s/90s to low 100s/low 70s. But on days 6-9 my BP was going down to 98/65 different times of the day, with some slight lightheadedness, no coughing. I was worried it would keep trending lower, especially while sleeping, and cause more dizziness. So my Dr gave me a 5mg RX. One day on that dose and I already noticed my BP going higher (High 130/high 80, low 90s). Now that I know I get better readings with 10mg I want to switch back. So my question is, is it ok that I went one day with 5mg and will go back to 10mg the next day? I was going to take another 5mg 12 hrs after my first dose but wasn't sure if that was ok? ## It really takes about 4 to 5 weeks, at one steady dosage, for Lisinopril to reach its full ...

I've been using the lisinopril 10 mg by Sandoz for quite some time now and in February 2016, I refilled my prescription and surprise to see a round sd hoped pill instead of the Oval that I used to get so I took it back to the pharmacy and the assured me that the pill was by Sandoz and that they changed the shape from oval to round. ## Hi Dio, Thanks for the heads up on the pill change. It's unfortunate that pharmacies have to make this a surprise for us at every refill. I was just looking up some information on these round lisinopril tablets by Sandoz and am not sure if I found the correct imprint, but I believe their 10mg is marked with "E 101" and carries the following National Drug Code: 00185-0101. Interesting that they would choose to change pill shapes. And I doubt...

I've been prescribed lisinopril 10mg for hypertension but I'm reluctant to start taking it. I've read the side effects and lots of things are worrying me. Will I become too hypotensive after the first dose? Will I still wake up the next morning? Will I constantly experience dizziness? Can I drink alcohol? Will I end up with kidney failure? Will I develop a cough? Are there alternatives? ## There are risks to taking any medication, however, it is a much greater risk to let your hypertension continue uncontrolled, because it is guaranteed to cause serious health problems and possibly death. Lisinopril works well for many people, with no serious side effects and there are always others, like myself, that are sensitive to it and experience bad side effects and must switch to som...

I received a new prescription for lisinopril 10mg. The bottle said Lisinopril 10 mg tablet lup previously and was a small round pink tablet. The new prescirption does not say lup after tablet and is an oval pink pill with #101 on it. Is this the same medicine. My pharmacist did not mention anythiing to me about it. ## The reason it doesn't say LUP after the pill is because that is the abbreviation for the manufacturer and your new tablet is made by a different company. It is, however, the same medication and the same dosage. Lisinopril is used to help lower blood pressure. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I've taken 10 mg Lisinopril from Lupin for 15 years. I have been taking this medication for over 12 years my doc has been wanting me off this medication say it cause kidney problems etc. wants me in lisinopril 10mg. I'm afraid of weight Gain & other side effects. The last 6 months I have had some vertigo & migraine. They feel that triam/htz is causing this. Lisinopril seems to have same side effects. Very confused ## Hello, Lane! How are you? Yes, Triam/HTZ is a combined diuretic, which works by removing fluid from the body, so it can be very taxing on the kidneys and they likely do need a break from it, after this many years. However, the other side effects risks aren't really any different between it and the Lisinopril. Typical ones, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and h...

I have oval peach/pink lisinopril with the number 101 and what looks like the letter Get on them, I would like to know what dosage they are. ## Hi Sheila, From the Lisinopril images online, I'm seeing an oval peach/pinkish tablet with a strange looking italicized "E" sitting to the left of "101" imprinted on one side of the pill and blank on the other. Is this what you're describing as well? If so, it's reported to be a 10mg Lisinopril tablet, manufactured by Sandoz. I hope this helps! Please post back though if you believe it to be something else.

I was told that Lisinopril WAS in the same ACE Inhibitor Class of Blood Pressure Medications, as Enalapril. Is that True, and how Comparable are they, to take, in regard to Doseage and Frequency? Thanks. ## Yes, they are both ACE inhibitors, the pril on the end of the drug name actually designates that. And Enalapril is actually twice as strong as Lisinopril, so you'd need to take twice as much Lisinopril to equal whatever dosage you were taking of the Enalapril. IE: 2.5mgs Enalapril = 5mgs Lisinopril 5mgs Enalapril = 10mgs Lisinopril and so on. Learn more Enalapril details here. Learn more Lisinopril details here.
