I've been prescribed lisinopril 10mg for hypertension but I'm reluctant to start taking it. I've read the side effects and lots of things are worrying me. Will I become too hypotensive after the first dose? Will I still wake up the next morning? Will I constantly experience dizziness? Can I drink alcohol? Will I end up with kidney failure? Will I develop a cough? Are there alternatives? ## There are risks to taking any medication, however, it is a much greater risk to let your hypertension continue uncontrolled, because it is guaranteed to cause serious health problems and possibly death. Yes, Triam/HTZ is a combined diuretic, which works by removing fluid from the body, so it can be very taxing on the kidneys and they likely do need a break from it, after this many years. However, the other side effects risks aren't really any different between it and the Lisinopril. Typical ones, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and h...

I received a new prescription for lisinopril 10mg. The bottle said Lisinopril 10 mg tablet lup previously and was a small round pink tablet. The new prescirption does not say lup after tablet and is an oval pink pill with #101 on it. Is this the same medicine. My pharmacist did not mention anythiing to me about it. ## The reason it doesn't say LUP after the pill is because that is the abbreviation for the manufacturer and your new tablet is made by a different company. It is, however, the same medication and the same dosage. Lisinopril is used to help lower blood pressure. My friend is on these three blood pressure meds but is out of the Lisinopril and hasn't taken them for three days. Will he be ok till tomorrow and what can he do to counteract the side effects of being out of the one? ## Since he is on the others, he likely won't experience any severe issues from being out of the Lisinopril, but of course, there is no way anyone can guarantee his safety. The FDA lists the typical side efects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is he monitoring his blood pressure regularly?

I am 71 but very active, I am also diabetic type 2 and take metformin and glibencizide every morning and evening. My doctor gave me lisinopril 10mg and bisocor 2.5 mg (half a tablet) for high blood pressure, I am keeping it at approx 125/75 with this medicine. My blood sugar is between 5 and 7 mml and my blood tests are okay. I have had a stress testfor my heart and that was okay, I am overweight at 110kg but am trying to lose weight. I feel shaky inside and lacklustre, could my medicine be causing a reaction. Every time I see my doctor, he sends me for tests and basically they all come back okay. I am not a whining hypochondriac, just a normal guy who would like to feel normal. I live in Zimbabwe where the medical facilities are not that great.

Lisinopril - How old is to old to use this medication? My pills are from 2013. Does the pill increase or decrease in potency with age? ## Medications tend to decrease in efficacy with time, according to FDA reports. Although, it is interesting to note that a nurse practitioner recently told me that the U.S. is the only country that actually requires expiration dates for medications. I don't know if that is true, and overall, before using an expired medication, you should double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. The NIH lists the typical side effects of Lisinopril as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, hypotension, and headache. I take 4mg of Warfarin 5 days a week and 5mg of Warfarin 2 days a week. I take 10mg of Lisinopril once each day. I exercise daily and try to eat right, however I can't seem to lose any weight. Will there be any ill effects by taking lipozene along with my normal medications? Thank you in advance for your time, consideration and prompt attention I know you will give to this matter. ## Hello, Gin! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Lipozene is a supplement that is claimed, but not proven to aid in weight loss. It has also not been evaluated for possible interactions with prescription medications or medical conditions, so there is a chance it may contain something that could cause blood thinning or elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, I...
