I received a new prescription for lisinopril 10mg. The bottle said Lisinopril 10 mg tablet lup previously and was a small round pink tablet. The new prescirption does not say lup after tablet and is an oval pink pill with #101 on it. Is this the same medicine. My pharmacist did not mention anythiing to me about it. ## The reason it doesn't say LUP after the pill is because that is the abbreviation for the manufacturer and your new tablet is made by a different company. It is, however, the same medication and the same dosage. Lisinopril is used to help lower blood pressure. Can you take more than 80 mg of Lisinopril in one day? Just curious, to know if there is a higher dosage than 80 mg? ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? While some patients have shown a better response to 80mg dosages, the maximum recommended daily dose is usually only 40mgs, because there is limited data available on the 80mg doses and no, it is not considered safe in doses higher than 80mgs. Can I take two 5mg of Lisinopril to equal 10mg of Lisinopril? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? Yes, the only time this would be a problem would be if the formulations were different, for instance if one was time released and one wasn't. I was taking Lisinopril 20 mg V 3973 and it was changed to Lisinopril 20 mg round E 102. They are from different companies. Is this safe to take? ## Since this is a generic medication, it is manufactured by several different companies, so you may not always receive the same ones from your pharmacy, that is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Having multiple manufacturers helps create market competition to try to keep generic prices lower. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications?

My doctor is switching me from 100mg 2x a day labaetlol to 40mg lisinopril 1x a day how do the doses differ or are they comparable? I'm really nervous about switching I'm worried it'll drop my BP to low I've never had to take meds til I had my son and developed high BP from pre eclampsia I'm 21 my BP reads 150-130 top number and 90-100 bottom number ## What is the reason he gave for switching you? I too just received the refill for my Mom's 10 mg Lisinopril tabs from Lupin Pharmacy, and have discovered they are half the size of the ones she has been taking for years. She is 93 years old, is very feeble, and uses a walker to get around. I am extremely concerned about whether or not to give her these new pills as I have read all the side effects people are experiencing. If she was to get dizzy or lightheaded the results could be disastrous. Does anyone have an alternative to this brand that may still be the same as the old larger Lisinopril tabs? Help ## What are the markings on them? The size of the tablets are irrelevant, what matters is her receiving the correct dosage, so they are effective. What experiences have you had using lisinopril? I started using it 20mlg in the am. I think I am doing better using 10 in the AM and 10 in the PM? ## My doctor prescribed 40 mg. Lisinopril for my high blood pressure. Within a day, my pulse was under 50 and my bp was always under 90/50. I complained and he lowered it to 20 mg. daily. That is a little better, but now I'm having heart palpitations and dizziness. I think he's trying to kill me. If your doctor doesn't take your complaints seriously, you MUST switch doctors! I am going to this week. ## When they gave it to me in the hospital, last week, it caused a horrible headache and nausea. I was miserable. Lisinopril is used to help lower blood pressure. Hello, a few days ago I went to the ER because my BP was extremely high, 208/110. I believe this because I have gained about 30 lbs and have not been eating very healthy lately. I am 39 years old and I was not currently on any blood pressure medication but I have been in the past. I was off about a year. The ER was able to get my BP down and the Dr. gave me a prescription for Lisinopril HCTz 20/12.5 I have been on this in the past but a lower dosage. I have only been on this meds for 2 days and it does lower my BP but it is too low. This morning it was 108/77. I feel very weak with no energy, sleepy, and somewhat depressed. I am worried it is lowering my blood pressure too much and I'm scared I will have hypotension. Can I stop taking this med since it's only been a couple of da...
