I am concerned about taking both prescriptions, as I am tired all the time. I tell my Dr., but he says if it keeps the pressure down keep taking them. Just wondered if I am the only one out there feeling this way. ## no i feel the same way very tired all the time can not even clean house ## That is a nornal side effect for these, it should, however, wear off after a few weeks as your body adjusts to the med and the change in your blood pressure. If it doesn't, then please speak to your doctor again and make sure to stress how severe it is. ## i also take both medicines norvasac and linsopril. I just started and yes, it makes me tired. ## I take Lisinopril/HCTZ, Lipitor, and Norvasc (1 year). I've been running for years, but can barley run 5 minutes without back and leg pain. I...

white pill ## What does 20/12.5 mg mean? ## The pill you have is Lisinopril (20 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg). To answer your question, the two numbers simply stand for the milligram of each ingredient. These two drugs are respectively a combination of a diuretic and an ACE inhibitor, to control hypertension. You can view a detailed description of the drug, by clicking on the link below... Hello I have been taking a blue oval lisnopril 10-12.5 hctz once day. Can I cut this dose in half as I feel that dose is to high for me. There is no score line but have a pill cutter.. ## Ask your Doctor he/she may have something better in mind for you. Don't be doing such things on your own unless ;you are your own MD. ## I'm not suggesting you do this without discussing it with your doctor first, but I will say that cutting a pill in half to take a smaller dosage should not be a major concern as long as the tablet is not an extended/time-released formula. The notion that doing such a thing may be harmful without a doctor's supervision or say so, is "not always true" in my experience. In cases like this, taking the full dosage or tablet more than likely presents a g...

I have lost 50 lbs and now have low BP 90-60 can I just stop taking the Lisinopril-HCTZ ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? I'm glad you're doing so well! No, please don't just stop it, without your doctor's approval. Doing so creates the risk of rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. You should only stop such a medication, if your doctor approves and in many cases, with a slow taper. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension and dehydration. Hello, a few days ago I went to the ER because my BP was extremely high, 208/110. I believe this because I have gained about 30 lbs and have not been eating very healthy lately. I am 39 years old and I was not currently on any blood pressure medication but I have been in the past. I was off about a year. The ER was able to get my BP down and the Dr. gave me a prescription for Lisinopril HCTz 20/12.5 I have been on this in the past but a lower dosage. I have only been on this meds for 2 days and it does lower my BP but it is too low. This morning it was 108/77. I feel very weak with no energy, sleepy, and somewhat depressed. I am worried it is lowering my blood pressure too much and I'm scared I will have hypotension. Can I stop taking this med since it's only been a couple of da...

I have been taking Lisinopril /HCTZ 20-25mg. I,m out. I do have a bottle of Lisinopril 2.5 mg that was filled incorrectly, but I still have them. my blood pressure is high 155/96, and I have a terrible headache. is it ok to take the Lisinopril 2.5mg ## It is a much lower dosage, so it may not work as well as the one you are currently prescribed. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. In the future, it would be best to make sure you pick up a refill, before you run out, since missing doses could be dangerous. Have you consulted your doctor?

I have OCD and I have a pill phobia and become obsessed. My question is how much is too much of Lisinopril 25mg? Toxic effects? also for HCTZ 25mg? ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? I understand, I have OCD myself and frequently do the same thing with medications, though I don't have a phobia about taking them. Anyway, I am very happy to help with more information. You should only take the amount your doctor has prescribed. But the maximum daily dose of Lisinopril can go as high as 80mgs daily, but it's rarely used in doses more than 40mgs daily. can lisinopril -hctz 10-12 5mgtab be cut in half? ## Hi Shirley, Is there a score line (indent) on the pill? If there is, then it is there specifically for the purpose of cutting the pill in half. Whether or not there is a score line, I would still cut the pill in half if needed. Maybe talk to your doctor about getting a lower dose of this medication if you consistently feel the need to use half a dose. NOTE: cutting a pill in half only works if the pill is in tablet form. This just wouldn't work if it is a capsule, since the contents would fall out. Hope this helps!

I just got a new prescription of cialis daily use 10 mg, took it once and my blood pressure below normal for a couple hours and without any medication the last couple days my blood presuure is 95/60 I am a 63 year old male ## Cialis contains the active ingredient Tadalafil, which actually works by increasing/improving blood flow and that is very similar to how many blood pressure medications work. It can actually cause low blood pressure as a side effect. Learn more cialis information here. However, why haven't yo been taking the Lisinopril? A blood pressure medication such as it isn't something that is just meant to be taken on an as needed basis. Have you consulted your doctor? Learn more Lisinopril information here.

i think i took two of my ic lisinopril-hctz 20-25mg tab by accident ## Have you contacted your doctor? Are you experiencing any nausea, dizziness, or other symptoms? You should contact your doctor, or some type of emergency medical services any time you think you may have taken too much of your medication, just to be on the safe side. Both of these medications can be used in higher dosages, but it can cause more side effects and may cause your blood pressure to drop much lower than normal.

Was taken 1 tablet daily of bisoprolol/hctz tab 10/6.25. My Dr changed med to lisinopril tab 20mg once a day. Would two tabs of bisoprolo above be the same as the lisinopril? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? No, they are not the same going by what you've listed. The Bisoprolol/HCTZ actually contains 2 ingredients, the Hydrochlorothiazide being a diuretic, so your doctor has basically removed that and has you just taking a blood pressure medication, now. Did your doctor say why they were making the changed?
