What would the name be on a bottle of liquid hydrocodone for being 5 mg ## Hi Carol, The only brand names I'm aware of are Lortab Elixir, Liquicet, and Tussigon. However, Lortab Elixir and Liquicet contain a combination of Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen; and not just Hydrocodone by itself. Tussigon also comes with Homatropine methylbromide, which is added to discourage overdosing. One other brand name containing the same ingredients as Tussigon is Hycodan, but this has reportedly been discontinued in the US. What brand name did you receive from your doctor? ...

I'm confused on the red liquid hydrocodone. Two of My child had tonsils removed at different times. The 1st one got the liquid Lortab, that was yellow and thicker. And tje child that just had the same Surgery done got the liquid Lortab but its red. Can someone PLEASE tell me if its tje samething? Maybe just a different manufacturer? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? The color and viscosity doesn't actually mean anything, that's entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacture, so they may all be different. Learn more Lortab details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have a bottle of hydrocodone/acetaminophen 7.5-325 15ml. I am use to taking like 6 pills at once cuz my body is so use to it. If i take the liquid, how much would i take for it to work? ## Hello, Lilly! How are you? You really can't keep taking such high amounts, at once, you're far exceeding the dosage limits for the Acetaminophen, which is only 1,000mgs maximum per dose. 6 tablets would be 1,950mgs per dose. It's also not safe to exceed 3,000mgs of Acetaminophen a day, due to the risk of liver damage, liver failure or fatal toxicity. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, for your own safety, I strongly urge... ...

Hi I was prescribed hydrocod/apap elix 7.5/500 sol. I was wondering what the dose would be to be equal to the 7.5 hydrocodone pill. ## It is exactly equivalent, the intention of it is to give 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen in each dose. Side effects will also be the same and may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. I Found a blottle that read HYDROCODOE/APAP ELX PMA I was just curious as to how strong it was, it's yellow..If that matters any. ## I'm thinking the "ELX" probably stands for Elixir, which is liquid. And from what I could gather, Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen Oral Solutions come in dosages of: 7.5 mg/500 mg per 15 mL. I noticed that this dosage has yellow dye in it as well if that helps: "In addition, the liquid contains the following inactive ingredients: ammoniated glyyerrhizin, dibasic sodium phosphate, citric acid, ethyl maltol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate, sodium gluconate, sorbitol solution, with D&C Yellow No. 10 and FD&C Yellow No. 6 as coloring, and natural and art... ...

From what you've listed the dosage is 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen per 15mls, so that would be the same as taking the same dosed tablet. How are you? 15, that's what the 7.5-325/15 means on the label, that's the dosage you get in 15mls, 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 5 mls is 1 teaspoon. 1 teaspoon of this med is 7.5 mg Hydrocodone/325 Acetaminophen. ## if 5 mls is 1 teaspoon, than the 15 would refer to 3 teaspoons equaling the actual dosage of 7.5-325.  Hydrocodone
Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid synthesized from codeine, one of the opioid alkaloids found in the opium poppy. It is a narcotic analgesic used orally for relief of moderate to severe pain, but also commonly taken in liquid form as an antitussive/cough suppressant.[1] Hydrocodone is prescribed predominantly within the United States, with the International Narcotics Control Board reporting that 99% of the worldwide supply in 2007 was consumed in the United States.[2] Contents 1 M...

If i add water to fill the bottle up more in liquid hydrocodine will it be noticeable that i added water to it? ## It most likely will be, because it will affect it in three ways. It can thin out the consistency of it, it can dilute the flavor and it can also dilute the color, so it's usually very noticeable when such a thing is done. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. Add to that the fact that you're going to be lowering the dosage in the given amount, so it won't work as well and it's just not something you can easily get away with. I'm supposed to take 15 ml every 6 hours or as needed of 7.5/325 hydrocodone acetaminophen...how many mg is that ? aka how many tablespoons? I've been in severe mouth pain and I think I've taken too much today. qty is 420. I started off with 420 now I'm at about 370-380. ## Hello, sdalton! How are you? 15mls would be 3 teaspoons, each teaspoon contains 5mls, but make sure to use a proper measuring spoon, not a regular household teaspoon, because they are not accurate. A tablespoon is approximately 14.786mls, so you could also just take one of them, if you're going to take the full dose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an... ...

I have 150 ML of Hydrocodone/APAP ELX that expired in 12/06. It has not been opened since then and has been kept at a constant room temp. Is it still safe to use for my bursitis and other muscle pains....??? ## Hello, Dlanor! How are you? No, it is long expired after that many years. Liquids degrade faster than other forms of medications and slowly lost potency. Not only will it no longer be very effective, but there's also a chance that it has turned and could make you very ill, if you take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. On the prescription bottle it states something like 5 ml equals Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminphen 325 mg. 1 ml equals 1 cc. My son is 11 months old and had surgery and was prescribed hydro/APAP for his pain. It is 7.5/325 in 15ml. The pharmacy calls it Tylenol 4. I'm just wondering if this is really safe to use on an 11 month old. ## Tylenol 4 is 60 mg Codeine and 325 mg Acetaminophen. It sounds like the prescription is for hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. There is Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen in Each 5 ml. ## I don't know what type of surgery but that's too much for an 11 month old,I would try plain tylenol,if it doesn't help,I would half the dosage on the hydrocodone. ## My son had posterior medial releases on both feet(tendon release for clubfoot ) and also tissue removed from the bottom of his feet because of his extremely high arches which contributed to his clubfoot.
