How are you? The color and viscosity doesn't actually mean anything, that's entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacture, so they may all be different. Learn more Lortab details here. My child was prescribed hydrocodone-apap 7.5-500 soln in an orange liquid. Also on the main bottle with the label that says Cephalexin for Oral Suspension, USP (250 mg/5ml) 100 ml when mixed. And the pharmacy doctor put 2 of 3 in red marker on bottle. I'm confused. Is the orange liquid suppose to make it easier for him to swallow. ## To be honest, I'm a little confused by your post. You're talking about 2 different medications. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, though the Hydrocodone can also help treat couching and the Acetaminophen can help break a fever. The Cephalexin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. The color really means nothing, but most medications of this type are given to children in liquid form, sinc...

I got a bottle of hydrocodone 7.5/325 liquid and I feel like my son may have switched it out for something else. Does anyone know what color it should be? ## Sorry to hear about the situation with your son. If you don't mind my asking, what causes you to think that the contents were switched out? Lack of efficacy or...? From what I can gather, the color of the liquid is reported to be red. For verification, the inactive ingredients in 'Hycet' (hydrocodone bitartrate 7.5 + acetaminophen 325mg) oral solution include: D & C Red #33 and FD & C Red #40 as coloring. Please note however that the color and viscosity of the liquid are entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer; and therefore may be subject to change without any prior announcement... Hope this helps!...

My husband has COPD. He was prescribed the Hydrocodone APAP 5 500 by his doctor for back pain. However, 1 pill seems to allow him to breathe better and reduces all his aches and pain (of course). The pill has also allowed him not to have to take his dose of Advair 250/50 at night. He has less mucous in the morning also. Why is the Hydrocodone 5/500 working like this? ## Hydrocodone is actually used in some medications, such as Tussigon and Tussionex, which are liquids, to help aid coughing, because it also has proven action as an antitussive. Learn more cough medicine details here. It's likely helping to suppress his cough urge and loosen some of the mucous that may cause some of his problems. Learn more Vicodin details here. I guess it's kind of just an added bonus! :-) It'...

Does hydrocodone and chlorpheniram have the same chemical in them ## The answer to your question is no. Hydrocodone and Chlorpheniramine have completely different chemical structures and are prescribed for different purposes as individual medications. There is however a liquid combination of Chlorpheniramine + Hydrocodone that is marketed as a narcotic antitussive (cough suppressant) and antihistamine combination. The antitussive (codeine) works by suppressing the cough center in the brain. The antihistamine (promethazine) works by blocking the action of histamine, which reduces the symptoms of an allergic reaction such as itch, watery eyes and runny nose. How much of the red liquid hyrdrocodone 325\5 mg would equal to three 1,000s norcos? ## Each teaspoons equals hydrocodone 5 mg /acetaminaphen 325 mg. ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? What BL has stated is correct, unless the label specifies otherwise. As to the Norco you mentioned, there is no Norco available that contains 1,000mgs of anything. The maximum dosage currently available on the market contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Norco was actually the name brand for a lower dose of this analgesic combination, so if you were taking it, then you were most likely taking 5/325mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an...

If I take 15 ml of red liquid hydrocodone 7.5 mg / acetaminophen 325 mg, does that equal 1 pill, or what does that amount (15ml) equal in pill form? ## It depends on the dosage of the pill. There is one available in the 7.5mg and 325mg dosage. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. 15ml is a liquid measure, so it does not apply to pills, you have to go by milligrams for them. What has been prescribed for you?
