I Found a blottle that read HYDROCODOE/APAP ELX PMA I was just curious as to how strong it was, it's yellow..If that matters any. ## I'm thinking the "ELX" probably stands for Elixir, which is liquid. And from what I could gather, Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen Oral Solutions come in dosages of: 7.5 mg/500 mg per 15 mL. I noticed that this dosage has yellow dye in it as well if that helps: "In addition, the liquid contains the following inactive ingredients: ammoniated glyyerrhizin, dibasic sodium phosphate, citric acid, ethyl maltol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate, sodium gluconate, sorbitol solution, with D&C Yellow No. 10 and FD&C Yellow No. 6 as coloring, and natural and art...

If i add water to fill the bottle up more in liquid hydrocodine will it be noticeable that i added water to it? ## It most likely will be, because it will affect it in three ways. It can thin out the consistency of it, it can dilute the flavor and it can also dilute the color, so it's usually very noticeable when such a thing is done. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. Add to that the fact that you're going to be lowering the dosage in the given amount, so it won't work as well and it's just not something you can easily get away with. Are there any other questions or comments?

My child was prescribed hydrocodone-apap 7.5-500 soln in an orange liquid. Also on the main bottle with the label that says Cephalexin for Oral Suspension, USP (250 mg/5ml) 100 ml when mixed. And the pharmacy doctor put 2 of 3 in red marker on bottle. I'm confused. Is the orange liquid suppose to make it easier for him to swallow. ## To be honest, I'm a little confused by your post. You're talking about 2 different medications. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, though the Hydrocodone can also help treat couching and the Acetaminophen can help break a fever. The Cephalexin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. The color really means nothing, but most medications of this type are given to children in liquid form, sinc...

I got a bottle of hydrocodone 7.5/325 liquid and I feel like my son may have switched it out for something else. Does anyone know what color it should be? ## Sorry to hear about the situation with your son. If you don't mind my asking, what causes you to think that the contents were switched out? Lack of efficacy or...? From what I can gather, the color of the liquid is reported to be red. For verification, the inactive ingredients in 'Hycet' (hydrocodone bitartrate 7.5 + acetaminophen 325mg) oral solution include: D & C Red #33 and FD & C Red #40 as coloring. Please note however that the color and viscosity of the liquid are entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer; and therefore may be subject to change without any prior announcement... Hope this helps!...

I was prescribed hycet liquid 7.5, but the pharmacy labeled the medicine hydrocodone/acetaminophen. Is it the same thing? Mine is purple. ## Yes, Hycet is just a brand name for this medication, Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are the active ingredients. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does liquid hydrocodone/apap lose its yellow color after two weeks ## Hi Jenni, Based on my research, U.S. prescription medications are required to have a mandatory expiration date of 1 year from the date the prescription is filled. After a year is up, the medication should still be safe but it will start to lose its potency and can no longer be as effective. However, there are some medications that can become dangerous after they expire. That being said, it's best to not take any medication after its expiration date. I haven't heard of this happening, but I'm sure it has to someone besides yourself. Maybe there is a problem with your specific prescription. Have you spoken with your pharmacy about it? I hope you get it figured out! Has this happened to anyone else? ## I woul...

What is the strongest color of cough sirup? I just got prescribed clear zutripro, and wanna know how this sirup compares to all the other cough sirups with codeine? Which is the most potent down to the least potent? ## Hello, Bog Dog! How are you? The colors don't actually mean anything, so I can't provide you with any information based on that. Nor can I go through and list all the cough syrups on the market, their ingredients and dosages, there are far too many. This one doesn't contain Codeine, anyway, the narcotic in it is actually Hydrocodone, which is stronger than Codeine. Learn more Hydrocodone details here.
