Linzess Can You Take A Pill For Gas With

I just took my first dose of Linzess 145 and like the others posted...within 2 hrs of taking it (I took it on an empty stomach 30 minutes before breakfast) I had noticeable bloating and gas within an hr and it was working full on within 2 hrs. The entire experience seemed to work itself out within 3.5 hrs. Very unpleasant 3.5 hrs but now everything seems to have calmed down. Not ideal..but can Linzess just be taken every few days? 2-3 times per week? If it always has this effect it seems I would be able to manage calendar to allow for the time it needs and still be able to fully function the rest of the time. ## I was told by my gastro to take it when I need it. I started Linzess 145mcg 9 days ago. Only had one bm. Called Dr she said take 2 pills at a time and if that works she will call in the higher dose. Took this morning before bed. (I work nights 7p-7a) I have had stomach pain all day. I haven't been able to sleep or get comfortable. I've had rumbling in my stomach, gas and an extremely hungry feeling with the 145mcg dose but no pain. It's been 8 hours since I took the 290mcg dose. I just ate something and I feel a little better. I read that I should take Linzess 30 minutes before eating but I usually don't eat until I get up in the afternoon. Hi, I have been taking Vitamin D 50,000 IU because my doctor found that I was having a pretty bad Vitamin D deficiency, but now my gastroenterologist gave me a prescription for Linzess. I'm not sure if I can take Linzess and my Vitamin D together? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The worst issue I can find is that the vitamin D can sometimes cause constipation, according to FDA reports, so they can be kind of contradictory. How is the Linzess working for you?

The manufacturer states that it can be taken with 1 ounce of water, or you can open the capsule and sprinkle the beads over a teaspoon of room temperature apple sauce, a half hour before eating or drinking anything else. Just prescribed linzess by my pcp , took it for 2 days with no results . My doctor directed me to take only when needed! Which contradicted the prescribing info! I have had problems for over 20 years , have tried everything and still no luck! I started on the lower dosage 2 weeks ago, and I didn't go the whole week. Doctor bumped me up to the 290 dosage and have only had 2 very small bms a little loose. That is it! I keep reading about how everyone is getting diahhrea several times a day. I take it every morning 30 minutes to one hour before I eat or take any other medicine. It's like everything has stopped working. Even hard to pass gas. My stomach is distended and I have rumbling, but nothing coming out. Do I just continue to take and wait for it to work? I see you didn't get any answers I was just wondering how long you taking linzess and did you get ahead of the parasite issues? I'm having a lot of gastrointestinal issues in the doctors don't seem to care that I didn't have proof that I have parasites. on 3rd day. Have bm' s in morning about 45/60 mins after taking Linzess. Those are only ones for the day. They are easier and formed. After I feel really good until afternoon when the bloating comes and feel full in bowel. Taking Gas X seems to help. When does full effect of Linzess happen? If IBS-C is the reason is this a 24/7 365 day or will there be periods of relief? Don't want to be on meds forever!!! Does it get better??? Hi, I have been taking Linzess 290mg for ibs-c. I have struggled with that since my hysterectomy. I have been taking linzess for some time now and initially it didn't work which is expected. Then.....I had got the diarrhea. I took it like I was supposed to once every day at the same time every day. The diarrhea is a side effect I know of but the side effect I got recently that I do not like is I'm always hungry. After I take linzess and I "empty" every thing because of diarrhea I feel like I am always starving even though my stomach feels full and bloated. I just want and feel like I have to eat. I've been taking linzess for a week and am having a lot of pain down low in my stomach. I had to take two aspirins to at least get some sleep one night. It also hurts when I urinate. I have to take it in the afternoon because I work during the day. It has been relieving me quite well. I'm just worried about having so much pain to where I moan and groan when I walk and I can't continue any kind of work out. Does anyone have a lot of gas with linzess? Sometimes it won't stop. I have gastroparesis and have been on Linzess for a year and a half. It worked ok until recently. Now I'm not going at all. Can I drink water the 30 minutes before my first meal. I suffer from trapped gas in my left upper quadrant. difficult to have good bowel movements except with coffee, been that way for years. Doc put me on linzess 145 once a day - immediate and severe diarrhea but I was actually getting to a point of feeling "empty" - I suffered through 2 full months of this diarrhea until getting a bad bout of nausea and have stopped it cold turkey. I have been taking Linzess for over a month now, highest dose. Have had IBS my whole life. I drink water all day long. I am peeing about every hour! I still have 4-5 days without a bowel movement then constipation followed by diarrhea. I have Gastroparesis, pelvic floor dysnersia, and chronic ideopathic constipation. I had been taking 4 capfuls of miralax daily (which stopped working), amitiza (never worked) and now Linzess. The very first day it caused severe pain and I had pretty severe diarrhea. The next few days & nights I had severe abdominal pain, but now just cramping and lots of bloating. I have not had ANY movements at all since the diarhea on day 1. I have been taking Linzess for several months for IBS-C. I recently tested positive for celiac disease but my gastro dr. missed this result on the 7 page lab report before he did my endoscopy and did not biopsy my lower bowel, intestines. All of my biopsy reports were negative for the endoscopy, but now i need to have lab work done again in 2 months to make sure that i am still positive for celiac. If i am i will need to have another endoscopy done with more biopsies taken. Has anyone else been diagnosed with IBS-C and now tested positive for celiac? If so, how does Linzess affect celiac disease?
