Hello, I am a long time user of oxycodone . Have been prescribed pain mess for around 8 years. I am 35 years old and lead a fairly active lifestyle . I've had many surgeries in which I suffer from serious constant pain. I've tried many ways of coping with the pain but the only thing that really works and enables me to function semi normally is oxycodone. Right now I'm using 30mg Oxys. Prescribed 180 a month, but always come up short as I need more than what's prescribed to my high tolerance . I've tried the extended release tablets in 80mg and they do not work at all, and I feel like they are way worse for my body . I've tried dissolving them in water and soda. And they turn to this glob of rubbery stuff and it seems like it would just build up in my body and not...

So I got hit by a car, back in November 2016. Was hospitalized, after being misdiagnosed from two separate hospitals. Almost died twice from sepsis. The third time was the charm as they say. Finally the hospital found that my whole body had gone sepsis. They then found I had multiple fractures in my hip and pelvis. All at once I was on my way to the trauma unit for surgery, however they couldn't do surgery due to the sepsis in my body. So they started to do c/t after c/t. MRI after MRI. Trying to safe my life. I have heard of others having success with this medication, however it can be very harsh on the body and you won't really know how it's going to effect you until you try it. I got a pain shot in my lower left back. I now have quarter sized hole that is skin to top of back pelvis. I'm in more pain than before the shot & now my Dr. Is not accepting blue cross anymore & I only have 6 doxycycline left. Feels like my back is broken sometimes. I'm 39 & my body feels 90. I've been taking oxycodone 10 mg for the last five months. Today is my first day without. How long will it take to get it out of my body. ## It takes about a week for the withdrawals to go away. Trying to go down on being pill dependent. I stop cold turkey went 9 day's the 1st time I tried. It wasn't pretty my hold body was in shock. 2nd time trying to go without now, just take half my pill instead 2 times a day it's working but body is not happy and seem like my blood is on fire, bad headache, sweats, stomach hurts in different parts. However, from my own research I would probably base my answer off of oxycodone's 3.2 hour half life for the immediate-release formulation. After that time frame following administration, the medication would no longer be at its peak so to speak (was not trying to rhyme there lol). Can someone tell me if Someone takes 2-30 mg Oxycodone IR and 60mg Oxycontin ER are they same and dispensed the same into your body if you would cut the ER in half? My friend takes both and she is on mail order. I take 8 30 mg tablets a day. It is not working as well as It could I have deveveloped a tolerence. What is the max the doc can give me per day in number of pills or miligrams. Had a Septoplasty and bil submucous resection turbinates today; was given a rx for this pain med and had it filled at CVS. I don't take pain medications in daily life. It has not effect at all...it's not that it is not strong enough...it just does nothing. I'm not allowed to take an NSAID or Tyl OTC so needless to day I'm miserable tonight. i have been going to pain management for 6 years and taking 6 30 mg, 10 15 mg oxycodone and 1 a day of fentora 400 mg. now i am thinking about going to suboxone. i can't bear the w/d and thought sub would take care of it. but i see different outcomes for different people. i have got to do something, it's destroying my life and any and everything in it....HELP!!! ## Are you addicted, or just dependent on them? The best possible thing you could ever do for yourself is to reduce and stop taking these as fast as possible. I was fortunate to have the time off of work to do this after 2 surgeries. I was on buprenorphine for several years. I grew tired of being a slave to this medicine and reduced to 2 mgs. Per day. Then I quit taking them completely. I will admit, it is hell for 3 weeks. Then 4th week was not so fun either but, you will start to notice how much better you gradually feel. Since the 1/2 life of buprenorphine is 12 hours vs. Oxycodone being 4 hours. It takes roughly 4 weeks to rid your body of this DEVIL. Its very rough to get through, some days you just feel like giving up, especially after the 1st week! For instance, conventional oxycodone has a peak plasma concentration in your blood stream of about 1 hour after taking it, whereas the time-released version would reach its peak after about 3 hours. Half life can be up to about 4 hours, and traces of it remain in your body for up to 72 hours (but by that time you would probably have taken your next dose if you are on a regular pain management schedule). I am addicted to opiates. Mostly Oxycodone, and Vicodin if I can't find my drug of choice. I am also prescribed Klonopin, 1mg 2X a day. A couple days ago, someone gave me 1 10mg Methadone because I was sick from not having my D.O.C. I was told not to take my Klonopin though because the mixture could be deadly.
