Li Docs For Pain Meds

My problem is much like so many others on here. After being treated with meds for 12 years (120 Soma per month as well as 180 Norco 10 and 120 Valium 10) my wife which is on full disability was also treated by the same doc for 9 years. The doctor was raided by local police and DEA but was never charged with anything unfortunately the local press basically tried and convicted him in 1 week smear campain. As a result he never returned.to his.practice and allowed his medical license to expire. It's now been 22 months and the DEA still has my medical file as well as 15 other patients. It has been the closest thing to hell as I have every known. I can't even get a doctor to write a prescription for my gout medication. For those of us in pain we know what its like to be unmedicated. We also know what its like to run out and have withdrawl and rebound pain. Its hard to go to a new doc or the er without being looked at like a junkie! Even with documents and test results you have to fight for your meds. TIP. Research research and research some more. Let your new doc know you know what you're talking about. Know yhe terminology for thr pain you have. Be very in depth. Let them know what works for you. But beware they wont jump straight to oxy! Be willing to do a pain contract. Be willing to change your lifestyle(if just to get meds) ask tjem about referals to chiro. Therapy. Be willing to take some initiative for your condition. My VA docs had me on HYDROS for 9 years 7.5 they said they didnt have 10mg. I was going to two different doctors VA and outside just to control my back and neck injuries from being heavy equip mechanic I only weighed 130 lbs most of my time in the service and I was liftingn pulling , pushing thousands of pounds of equipent daily. Hi, I have had chronic back pain for years and have seen various doctors for the problem. Most have prescribed either tramadol or hydrocodone along with muscles relaxers sometimes. I've also tried a round of steroids (prednisone) as well as non pharmaceutical options like physical therapy, stretching and light exercise when I can tolerate it in an effort to strengthen my core. Most of these treatments have helped to some degree but the pain inevitably returns (and really many of the medications have only slightly dulled the pain but I still have had difficulty getting through the day even when taking them. I have 3 ruptured discs with nerve damage on both sides of my back. Iam in pain 24/7. I've been to 3 neurosurgions and 2 Orthopedic surgeons. I've been to 3 physical therapist and 3 pain specialist who say I need surgery but no one will touch me they say its to risky and they send me back to pain management but they only send me to physical therapy. My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. She still has no insurance except Medicare A&B. she's almost out of meds and the pain she will experience is excruciating. HELP anyone. Does anyone know a Doc that will rx 90MME morphine and 3 mg. Klonopin in Oreegon or Washinton. My reg Doctor moved back to Washington to far to drive . I have SLE, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, Scleraderma, Raynauds, Achalasia, Brain Tumour, Peripheral Nueropathy and Emphysema, and now it's affecting my heart. The only pain killer I am taking is Panadol Osteo because I'm allergic to morphine, codeine etc. The docs are also passing me back and forth like a hot potato. I know my diseases make it difficult for them to deal with (no picnic for me either) and I understand that very little research has been done on one person having so many rare conditions but I just want the truth and more importantly just a sign that maybe they care.

Is it just me or is all the pain management docs trying to cut everyone down or back!!?? When I went to my last visit the doc had the nerve to ask me if I still needed my Oxymorphone 20mg ER (56). I was like YEAH, what do you think?! This is after they closed down for 3 months and I had to switch to Subutex to not get sick. And I got dropped from the 30mg oxymorphone. And by the way the 20'mgs are garbage. Then my doc asked me to get an MRI on my lower back, which I did the month prior. It just goes to show what a dumb ass he is and how they're so not in tune to what is going on! All they want to do is lower and lower your meds. Im a 53 year old woman who was hit head on by a drunk driver many years ago. I've had physical therapy 4neck surgeries with pin and plates even went so far as having a electric stimulater put in my back. i have tried it all. I have been on some sort of opiate for more than twenty years. Methadone mcompression frqaaintenance the whole nine yards. For the past five years I had ben doing well on suboxone however about a month ago I sustained two compression fractures and a cyst on my spine. I have a high tollerance and I need to find a doctor in N.E. Pa that will prescribe me a strong opiate like fyntanal or methadone for pain. Can anyone help me. ## Have you been taking Methadone and Suboxone for the treatment of drug addiction ? If you have, it is doubtful that you will be able to find a dr that will prescribe you pain meds.

It is for rxs that a drs writes to Medicare patients who have Prescription Part D. Many of these patients are very ill with chronic health problems. This info is not an indicator of what rxs a dr will write to new patients who may not have the serious illnesses that other patients do and who may not be as old as other patients. Many of these drs work in hospital Emergency Rooms. Which also accounts for the high number of certain rxs they may write. Medicare is in the process of cracking down on pain meds that are wrtten for non cancer related pain.

Had back fusion surgery. Only 6 weeks of low dose norco. Ended up with nerve pain in my foot (zapping shocks that will take the strongest person down). Ortho doc said It would go away possibly in 6 weeks, maybe longer. Ortho surgeon they will never give anyone any opioids past 6 weeks no matter what. He tells me to go to pain management but he does not recommend or refer for any one of his patients to a pain management clinic. Says he does not want the responsibility of that. Truth is he doesn't want docs asking why he give very little pain meds or have his patients being referred back to him. He said to go to my regular doc.
