Lexapro Versus Generic

I was on Lexapro 20 mg. a day for years. In Aug of 2012 I changed to the generic form. After 2 days, I was having terrible side effects. My pharmacist told me that the generic was exactly the same as the Brand name and that it must be something else wrong. I recently switched back to Lexapro Brand name and have felt so much better that it is unbelievable. I have reported this to the FDA. I know that other people are suffering from this same problem. The more people that report this to FDA, the more likely something will be done about it. I called 18663004374 . I would advise anyone to report their problem with this generic so insurance can't get away with only covering the generic. Good Luck. ## Hello, Grandma! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you had with the gener...

I don't normally visit these forums but I was interested in experience generic escitalopram versus Lexapro. I find the generic works better than without anything but am thinking of trying Lexapro to see if it works better - I first started with lexapro a couple of years back so I just don't remember. I am concerned there are so many comments about generic escitalopram having bad side effects - given they both have the same chemistry, it does not make sense to me ## I had been taken the generic lexapro and it just didn't work. My depression came back, I was having suicidal thoughts, my anxiety returned and was becoming very OCD again. Even though the generic brand is free, I have decided to take the brand name Lexapro. I am feeling much better now, even though I have to pay $...

I have taken 30mg of Lexapro for past 4 years. After the deaths of my son and his wife in a plane crash the depression and anxiety were more than I could bear. This past May I was changed to the generic escitalopram. God Forbid!!!! What a nightmare. Within three weeks I was suicidal, I was going through SSRI withdrawals which are vicious. I am now paying over $225.00 per month for Brand Lexapro as my insurance will NOT cover it even with prior auth or any other reason. My Medicare Advantage plan leaves a lot to be desired even though I pay a $152.00 per month premium. Has anyone else had problems with the generic Lexapro? My pharmacist said I am not the first. ## I've been on Lexapro for 4+ years and got switched to generic as well. Initially the generic just didn't work (it was...
