Has anyone else had this feeling and will it go away as my body adjusts to the levothyroxine? ## yes i would get that every morning after i took my pills and drank coffee. Hi, I've taken Nitrofur-Macr 100mg and did ok with it. I recently had to start taking Levothyroxine 50mg for a thyroid condition. And now when I take Nitrofur-Macr I break out all over my neck, ears, back & arms in a horrible rash that burns almost. Is this a normal side effect? Or is it because of the combination of the two medications? I've never had a reaction like this to any medication. ## Hi, Susan! Sorry about the rash that you're getting. It sounds like you may have started experiencing an allergic reaction and, if that is the case, they tend to continue getting more severe if the medication isn't stopped. Learn more Nitrofurantoin details here. It can happen unexpectedly, even if you've been taking something for awhile and not had any prior problems. Hav...

I had a total thyroid removal in June 2014. Was 1st put on 124mg of Levothyroxine, later 112 mg and swelling in both feet and legs began. My left leg looked like a stove pipe along with my swollen feet and toes. I developed hammer toes next to my large toe. Later I was placed on the 100mcg and the swelling continued. I spoke with my endorcrinologic who told me she could not help me but to speak with my general practitioner. To make a long story short I went to a heart doctor, had a mapping of my legs and found out I had small veins. I was told I had Lymphedema and was referred to a clinic. I did not go to this doctor. I started reading others emails on swelling and started cutting my pills like 3/4 in size on 10-20-2016. As of today I lost about 5lbs in weight and my right foot looks gr...

im on 50mg of levotyroxine still feel like crap, still heavy, will it all change ## How long have you been taking it? Most medications require 4 to 6 weeks to reach their full effectiveness in the body and not all of them work for everyone that tries them, thus there is really no way to say whether or not this will change for you. You can usually tell, when you've hit this point, because that is also when any side effects you're experiencing will be most severe, such as nausea, drowsiness and dizziness, then they will start to taper off in severity. Have you consulted your doctor?

oval, beige, pill, GG337 ## ive been taking levothyroxine for 3 months and i was drinking water regular now ive been taking thyroxine sodium and i cant get enough water please explain the differences thank you derrek ## There aren't really any severe differences, they are both thyroid hormones, given to supplement those are are deficient. However, your body can react differently to differenct medications, so while on one medication you may not experience a lot of side effects, but a switch to a new drug, even in the same class, might result in more severe side effects. Is you continue to experience problems, you should probably consult your doctor, this may not be the right medication for you. Why are woman prescribed levothyroxine more often than men? ## Women are the ones that most commonly develop thyroid issues, at least according to NIH studies, though I supposed it is possible that they may also just see a doctor more often and end up being diagnosed more than men. I'm changing from Armour Thyroid to generic Levothyroxine. Any feedback as to the quality of the manufacturer, Amneal? I'm a little dizzy, and my eyes hurt and are very dry. ## They are a reputable manufacturer, but Armour Thyroid and Levothyroxine are not exactly the same, though they do treat the same conditions, so it is normal that you may experience some side effects, when you first switch. Other side effects to Levothyroxine may include weight changes, nausea, and loss of facial hair. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## I changed from Amour Thyroid to Nature-Throid. Amour changed the inert ingredients and I became allergic to them. I am now on Nature-Throid and it is excellent. ## I have found that I can only take the Mylan brand for some reason. Pharmacy...

I have been taking levothyroxine for 5wks now, i was borderline when diagnosed. I have had terrible side effects while taking this medication, palputations anxiety unable to sleep headaches and an increase in blood pressure. My gp said i could just stop taking the medication and has taken another blood test. Will i have any withdrawel symptoms. ## Hello, Andre! How are you doing? You may have some, but they shouldn't be too bad, since you were only on it for a few weeks. When will you get the results of the new blood work? If you were just borderline, it was probably a little soon to jump to a medication for treatment, especially with all the issues this one is known to cause. Learn more Levothyroxine details here.

I had been on Levoxyl 100mcg for at least 2 years and was doing great until the recall in April 2013. The only issue I had was I found it hard to sleep at night. Since the recall,I had to switch to Levothyroxine 112mcg and feel tired all the time, gained weight, and other unhappy symptoms. My levels are normal but I think I felt better on Levoxyl. My question is now that Levoxyl is back on the market would it be a mistake to be put back on it? Is it the same? I can't find any info or anyone who has gone back to Levoxyl. ## Hello, Candace! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having.
