Sir, In the USA I have been using Levothyroxine 25 mcg at one per day on an empty stomach. Now I am in India for a couple of months but I am told this is not available in India. Can you please suggest a safe substitute of this in India. Please reply. {edited for privacy}

My T3 and T4 levels are normal but my TSH is 8.55. I am worried because my weight starting increasing even beyond my daily workouts in GYM. So I am having Thyronorm 25mcg-4 tablets daily morning in empty stomach. Is it advisable to take this tablet or else am i taking life risk? I've been taking Levothyroxine for a bout a month and a half because I had a hyper thyroid and had to have radation to stop my thyroid. I feel much better, but I'm scared of becoming fat. My container says, Take medication on an empty stomach 1HR before or 2-3 hours after a meal. Does this mean it's okay if I take it at 5:30 am and then go back to sleep 'til 9am? Or do I HAVE to eat exactly an hour afterwards. It's very hard to gage when I'm going to be eating or not. Often after a meal, I might still have a snack within an hour. I just started taking both of these pills and I need to know how long to wait to take the other pill. Both pills are to be taken on an empty stomach and first thing in the morning. Plus I need to take calcium for the osteopenia. ## Hi Jolene, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Atelvia (risedronate) and Synthroid (levothyroxine sodium). So with that in mind, I don't think there would be any problems taking the two tablets at once or within the same time-frame. You are right about food though. It should be avoided at the time of your dosing, since it can supposedly diminish the absorption of each medication. I hope this info helps!

My wifw SUMITA BENGERI is on Throx 50 mg since 2009 early morning empty Stomatch with plain water. My question is --Is it necessary to take Thyrox 50 Mg emty stomatch with Plain water only?
