Am in a quandary. A friend has asked me to get him Levocal, which Im in the process of doing. He already takes half a pill (.5 of 250 mg) a day, but wants more. He has Parkinsons. Am totally unaware if he has thyroid problems. I just dont want to risk doing him any harm. Any suggestions? Opinions? (Taking a whole pill is out of the question for administrative reasons I wont go into). No spam, please. I never read it.

Has Levoxyl been taken off the market again?? In November, 2016 I am being told by the pharmacy that I use (Walgreens) that Levoxyl has been taken off the market again because of quality problems, but I am not finding any information about such a recall on the internet. ## I called Pfizer, and Levoxyl 200mcg has indeed been taken off the market again. No estimate as to when it will be available. ## Has anyone explored other viable alternatives to Levoxyl in the meantime? I had my thyroid completely removed in February 2016. My TSH levels skyrocketed post surgery so I am consequently on .4mg of Levothyroxine daily. A lost of your symptoms are most likely due to not having a thyroid, anymore and are likely to get worse, if you stop taking your medication. When is the last time your levels were checked? You may need a dosage adjustment. The FDA lists its typical side effect as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes.
