I started using levemir for the first time last night. About thirty minutes after I took it I started getting chest pains. It didn't start out too bad then got worse. It lasted about maybe an hour. Could it have something to do with the levemir? I also think I have really bad anxiety so I don't know if that could of been a factor. I'm nervous to take it tonight. Last night I brushed it off but I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again tonight. Any suggestions? ## My suggestion is to contact your doctor and have yourself checked out immediately. Chest pain is nothing to play around with and wait out. It could be due to a serious medical issue. Yes, there's a chance that it's nothing and just related to stomach acid, or your anxiety, but it's not worth taki...

I'm taking losartan 100mg and atorvastatin 80 mg. I also take 45 units of Humalog, 80 units of Levemir, 500 mg metformin, carvedilol once a day, bumetanide and amlodipine 10 mg. I took all this for a long time. I started breaking out with about 200 hives all over my legs and side of my body. Can you please tell me what it could be? I had to quit taking all my medication except my sugar shot and I started adding one pill at a time. As soon as I got to that amlodipine and I took 70 units of my leveremir the next morning I broke out all over, so I quit and just took two 45 unit doses and I was okay. Can someone help me please? Thank you. ## Hi Tony, Sorry to hear about your situation. Because you're taking so many medications it may be challenging to determine exactly which ones ar...

I am wondering if there are any other diabetics out there who use insulin & are allergic to phenol. What are your reactions to it? I get really sick, like an extremely bad case of the flu with chest pain. ## Using levemir and having chest pains and liver burning sensation. also fast heart rate. I am afraid to up my doseage. Taking Stem Enhance it is lowering my blood sugars. I believe I am allergic to this insulin but the clinic will not take me off. I am going to see another doctor. ## Dear Shar, Now I know I'm not alone. I've been suffering with severe, asthma like, chest pain and the inability to catch my breath. I figured out, it always happens after taking insulin. I became diabetic at age 55. I learned I had an allergy to Phenol many, many years ago when working in the...
