Sugar and BP i s reasonably under control. But I have swelling in the ankles and tightness , pain , sometimes numbness. Kindly advice on the medications. ## That can be side effects of most blood pressure medications, according to the NIH, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. However, only your doctor can help you discover which one is causing it and help you find the proper solution. Do you watch how much sodium you take in each day?

I have been on Lyrica for a long time. For the first few years everything was great, no side effects Before I started, it just for my tiny premie( it quite 4lbs) to lie on my chest. But now sometimes I retain so much fluid that I cannot get my jeans on and my legs are so swollen that my skin burns from stretching so fast. Also, if you press on a place it feels like play dough and leaves a deep imprint that takes a bit to go away. I am taking Lasix, but it is nor helping any more. Any suggestions? I don't want to stop taking in and have to tell my little girl she cannot play and crawl on mommy. ## According to medlineplus: "swelling of the arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs" are all listed as common side effects of Lyrica (Pregabalin). I am taking Eslo 5 Tablet for over one yr for mild hypertension. Now have got swelling of the one foot & leg till knee.Know that this can be side effect of this medicine.Would like to know alternative medicine if I want stop this one. Thanks ## How have your blood pressure readings been? Are you also watching your fluid and salt intake? There's a chance that such swelling may not be solely due to the medication, elevated blood pressure and too much sodium and fluid can cause edema and that, in turn, may lead to congestive heart failure. So yes, there are alternative medications that can be taken, but you need to seek medical assistance first, to have this checked out and see what's causing the problem, rather than just trying to handle it yourself.

Has anyone experienced leg pain and swelling. I have been on votrient for 12 weeks and now I'm having severe leg pain I already have a blood clot in my left leg, but now my right leg is in pain when I walk. I'm totally concerned as I have experienced several side effects. But this side effect would be better than a blood clot. ## Hello, Kocoa! How are you? Votrient has been known to cause musculoskeletal pain as a side effect in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, change in hair color, weight loss and myalgia. However, since you do have a history of clots, you should have it checked out by your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Sintrom for 6 months after an incident of DVT and last week I switched to Xarelto taking 20mg/day. Since then I have noticed slight pain and swelling to my leg. Is this one of the side effects? Apart from that no other side effects are noticed... ## Hello, KZ! How are you? Yes, Xarelto can cause edema and muscle pain as side effects, along with nausea and increased risk of bleeding. You should have the edema checked out, as it may require treatment, or you may need to switch to a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Started taking Xarelto @ month ago. Has anyone taking Levothyroxine experienced eyelid swelling and leg cramps? I have been taking 50cc for a year now. First I had itching & hives and now I have eyelid swelling and leg cramps. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? What has your doctor said about this? The hives, itching and swelling sound like an allergic reaction and, if that is what is causing them, it's not going to go away. In most cases, it will just continue to get worse with repeated exposure. Typical side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and hair loss.

my right hand is so swollen, all numb and very painful. the left hand is fine. anyone have this problem? I am stopping the lyrica to see what happens. does anyone know how long it will take for the swelling to go away after stopping lyrica? ## Hi roz, Were you diagnosed with carpal tunnel, arthritis, or any sort of nerve entrapment in your right hand? Only asking because what you're describing is usually commonly associated with those types of conditions. Additionally, "swelling of the arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs" is listed as a general side effect of Lyrica. So depending on the underlying cause of this inflammation, it's also likely that Lyrica could be the culprit. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Lyrica Details Have you discussed this wi...

I have been on Humira for about a year and a half. It has been very good for me. I noticed right from the beginning that I had a lot of swelling in my body but mostly in my feet and lower legs. About 7-9 lbs in the week of my injection. I decided that I could handle it and it was much better than the Psoriatic Arthritis AND my skin cleared about 95%. I have always had a lot of sinus and ear infections so I have to take antibiotics for a lot longer now when I get one and sometimes I have to stop the injections until it clears up. This past month or 2 I am noticing very easy bruising. Does this make sense or ring true for anyone else? ## Hello, Aka! How are you doing? Yes, all of these symptoms make sense. They are all listed under the possible side effects of Humira, as listed by the FDA...

I just started taking Xarelto a week ago. My feet and legs are swollen. What do I do? ## Hello, Shane! How are you? As reported by the FDA, that can be a side effect of this medication, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. It would be best to have it checked out by your doctor to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello, the doc told me it was the oppressor that was causing the swelling. I had been on a constant IV drop for nearly a week as well. Also during that time I had terrific dry mouth and drank constantly. I could hardly move. I think all these factors led to the swelling rather than xarelto. These medications were all new to me. ## Hello, the doc told me it was the lopressor that was causing the swel...

I have been on Eliquis for about a month. I have some itching, weight gain, and swelling in my legs and feet that has become very painful. Also frequent urination. They are taking me off the meds. Has anyone else had the swelling? ## I have had very painful burning and aching with some numbness on the soles of my feet for 3 months. After being blood-tested for every disease in the world,it dawned on me it might be the Eliquis. The doctors (3) assured me that the drug was an unlikely culprit.I went off the Eliquis on my own,and within a week all my "peripheral neuropathy" was gone. ## Hello, Glenda! How are you? I had knee surgery ( torn miniscus) ,left knee before surgery ankle would swell at times.. I was at home recovering for five weeks upon returning to work my ankle e started to swell again . Any explanations , theorys, or medical know how's on why it could be happening. ## There are several reasons it could happen. I have been on Viibryd 40 mg almost since the first day it came out and was one of the lab rats when it was in clinical trials. I loved it because it made me feel normal. I have noticed though for about 18 months I have issues with leg swelling, water retention and significant abdominal bloat that won't go away. I am going to try going down to 20 mg. Any one else have these issues? Did they get better with a reduced dose? I hate to go off because I feel awake and not experiencing almost nonfunctional exhaustion with terrible allergies and weird aches and pains I have without it. No other med besides Viibryd has ever really helped. Any ideas? ## Hello, Susan! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Is this the only medication that you're on? Ho...

I took smz/tmp for a bladder infection. After finishing the pills my feet legs and hands started swelling. It's hard to breath after just getting up and going to the bathroom, I have to sit down. Question, how long does this smz/tmp remain in your system? I took 14 pills of smz/tmp ds 800-160. ## Hello, Cecilia! How are you? Has there been any change? Please see you doctor if you are still in this condition. On rare occasions, this medication may cause fluid retention, which could lead to congestive heart failure and the symptoms you've describe could mean that's what's happening to you, as reported by the FDA. Thus, better safe than sorry! You may also be experiencing a dangerous allergic reaction. Both of these require medical treatment, as soon as possible. IE: Immedi...

I just started taking Levothyroxine 2 wks ago my legs and feet are swollen so bad by nite I can barley walk. They go down a little at nite but swell back. I am taking 25mcg and I am afraid to continue taking this med. Has any one else had this problem? ## Have you contacted your doctor? It sounds like you might be having a bad reaction to this medication and it may not be the right one for you, or may be too high of a dosage. Generally, the symptoms of a dosage being too high will start to manifest 6 days or so, after you start taking it and this type of fluid retention can be one of them and there is a chance that it could lead to congestive heart failure, if that's what's causing it and it isn't rectified. You should really contact your doctor immediately. ## I am on medic...

Taking xarelto and left leg is swollen, tight and very painful from the knee up to the groin area. Have any idea what this could be? ## I have similar problems after 4 months on Xarelto. My left knee also has weird tightness and all joints are extremely stiff. I was a very active 51 year-old that went to feeling 71 in a matter of weeks.
