I am diabetic and have high blood pressure. For diabetes I am on Glucophage XR 500mg (3 tabs a day) and for high blood pressure I have been taking Approval 300mg. Recently my doctor reduced my Glucophage to 2 tabs a day, the Approval to 150mg and added Concur 2.5mg. I want to know why Concur as this is a beta drug and read that it will camoflouge my sugar levels. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks. ## Have you asked your doctor why he wants you to take this one? Concor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, it is a beta blocker and, as such, it can mask some of the signs of low blood sugar, such as accelerated heart rate, since it can slow the heart rate. This doesn't mean that diabetics can't take it, but you should be aware of this, so you know to check your sugar level regul...

I changed my BP drugs to Adco Bisocor - a small dose of 5mg a day for marginally raised BP. The previous drugs were causing hair loss and severe weight loss, as well as loss of appetite. At first the Adco Bisocor seemed fine - I've been on it about 4 years now. The hair loss and weight loss were almost totally reversed. However, I have now once again been losing weight, some hair, and have been extremely dehydrated to the extent that my mouth is almost too dry to speak. Can this be the drug? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The active ingredient in this is Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker and yes, it is always possible for a medication to suddenly start causing new side effects, because our bodies are always changing. However, you should check with a doctor to determine whether...

I have been having palpitations every day suddenly for the past 3 weeks. My doctor put me on .5mg of xanax assuming it was anxiety. I decided to stop takimg the xanax after reading about how addictive it can be and my doctor started me on a beta blocker(metoprolol 25mg) to stop my palpitations amd trips to the ER until he figures out what the cause is since all of my blood work has come back perfectly fine. He told me to take half of the 25mg pill once a day as i need it. Its working for me so far but its only been a couple days. I had high BP for several months and tried all combinations without success. I had a bad reaction to Beta Blockers and Calcium blockers. My BP became normal (120/80) just a few days after I started taking Losartan/HCTZ. It was magical for about a month but starting this Monday my BP jumped to 156/98; then for last two days in the morning 145/86 and in the evening 130/92. What could cause this sudden rise?
