I have some Ed-a-hist 4-10mg tablets that expired on 5/29/15, are they still safe for me to take and will they still be helpful to me? ## Hi Perky, I can't speak for this drug specifically, but when it comes to expiration dates in general, one rule of thumb is that the listed expiration date is more of a ball-park figure rather than a precise date by which it essentially renders unsafe/ineffective (aside from tetracycline). Studies from Harvard Medical School as well as The LA Times point out that many medications are actually still good for up to 10-40 years after the listed expiration date. So I will say that if it were me in this position, I personally wouldn't mind taking something that's only been "expired" for less than a year. I'd just encourage you to res...

I have some clindamycin left over from a few months ago and I was curious if it treats a urinary tract infection ## The drugs most often used to treat routine, uncomplicated UTI's are trimethoprim (Trimpex), trimethoprim/sufamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra, Cotrim), amoxicillin (Amoxil, Trimox, Wymox), nitrofurantoin (Macrodantin, Furadantin), and ampicillin [1]. Although Clindamycin is not on the above list, it does not necessarily mean that it won't work. The thing with UTIs is that urine testing and/or medical history may be required to determine the specific bacteria causing the infection. Different meds for different bacetria. Hope this helps. I am 62 and have no history of hypertension, yet there was a sudden spike in my blood pressure reaching 160/100, so my Dr. prescribed several medicines (Amlodipine 5mg, Enlapril, Clopidogrel 75mg, Aspirin 75mg, Atrovastatin). I took them for 4 days and immediately my B.P. showed normal. Then the Dr. told me I will have to take the medications as prescribed for the rest of my life or I will have to face rebound effects. I don't like the idea of being on medications forever. It was a small sporadic incidence with grade 1 mild heart dysfunction. I then went for a 2nd opinion from an expert Dr. He asked me to discontinue all previous medications and take only 1/2 Amlodipine and 1/2 aspirin daily for 6 months. I found one of the previous meds was Plavix (Clopidogrel) and learned that it ...

is this medicine a steroid or not? If yes then what are its immediate side effects and long term side effects? ## Based on my research, neither medication found in MONTAIR-LC are depicted as steroids. Montelukast is reportedly in a class of medications called leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs). It works by blocking the action of substances in the body that cause the symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis. Levocetirizine is in a class of medications called antihistamines. These types of medications work by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. It's also important to note that all medications carry the risk of side effects. So by taking this, you should understand that there are risks involved, even if you don't end up exp...

Will it give rusults for 6 month child of 6.5kg ## Hello, From what I can gather, Ondem Syrup contains the active ingredient Ondansetron; which is used to relieve nausea and vomiting. I would go ahead and follow the dosing instructions that your doctor provided, since only he knows the medical history of your child and can determine the amount of medication necessary based on his weight. There is no way to know for sure if the medications your child has been prescribed will help since everyone reacts to medication differently. Just be sure to consult your doctor if your child's symptoms become worse or don't...
