avalox/contact sports?

My thirteen year old son(140 lbs) had a strong bacterial infection involving his salivary glands. His face was very swollen. In order to avoid hospitalization(IV), the doctor prescribed avalox. He finished it 2 days ago. When is it safe to return to bball(his passion) w/out risk to his tendons? This is his life and he is distraught. He is an integral part of 2 teams, but we obviously do not want to compromise his health. ## I suggest speaking to his doctor about this, that way you will get advice on the safest time frame. ## i am a 57 y/o female with polycyctic kidney disease post transplant jul 5 2000 and i have been on predisone ever since. ER dr. put me on Avelox for severe sinusitis going into pneumonia a few days ago . i am very concerned about by tendons as i am very active 8 hours......

Playing college sports after stopping xarelto

I'm a 21 year old, female athlete. I had surgery on my left knee (3rd one) after tearing my meniscus in December. Recovered quickly and started PT within a week after surgery. A couple months after, my calf started to swell to an abnormal size and I had pain in the back on my knee through my calf. I also started to get chest pains and dizziness. Saw a few doctors - some thought I had a Baker's cyst and didn't think the swelling was bad. Even got an EKG to rule out any heart problems, everything came back normal. It wasn't until my trainer sent me to get an ultrasound in February that they found a DVT in my femoral vein. Sent me for a CAT scan and found that it broke off and "showered" around both lungs. Immediately started me on xarelto, which gave the worst side......

Brintellix and anti-doping controls in sports

I took this med for 2 months 10mg/day and now my OCD reduced a lot and i feel really good like never happened before. I also noticed my reflexes, concentration and energy became higher. I don t have anymore problems to see fast objects, i can understand a lot better spoken foreign languages that i m studying and i go running without doing too much efforts like before. According to my experience and according to Lundbeck that says that Brintellix can help patients improve cognitive function, I was wondering if it s considered a prohibited substance in professional level sports. Thanks for attention and who wants to answer me. ## Can someone answer me please? I really would like to return to playing tennis but i don't know if i can. ## WORLD ANTI-DOPING CODE (INTERNATIONAL STANDARD) P......

Athletes help??? ## Hello, Billy! How are you and your friend? I'm not an athlete, but I can tell you that Risperdal can cause some very problematic side effects, as listed by the FDA, such as severe somnolence and weight gain, so it can really slow the body down and make it harder to maintain stamina and good physical function. Other side effects may possibly include drowsiness, sedation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I......

Fam dr wont give my xanax by sandman I live close to alanta ga. ## Well it is not really your Xanax? So much has changed and out there and many areas in the South you have to jump through hoops. My Family doctor gives them out like Pez, with a free collectors dispenser! ## Family doctor's are not supposed to be giving them out, anymore. There are some exceptions they can make, but in most cases, you will now need to see a specialist for such medications, if you require them on a long-term ongoing basis. The best thing to do would be to ask your doctor to refer you to someone else. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon, stop being pat......

Morphine ## wondering about statex pills effects ## HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR STATEX 10 MG TO START WORKING AFTER YOU TAKE IT, STATES WITHIN AN HOUR , BUT GENEREALY HOW LONG DO YOU THINK? ## Yes, this is a name brand for a formulation of Morphine, which is an opiate narcotic used to treat severe pain. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start working, Carmie. Are there any other questions?...

STATEN & ANTACIDS

Is it safe to take antacids, and staten medication with nitrofurant macro ## Hi Puba, I haven't come across any specific details notating that you can't use nitrofurantoin with statin medication. However Walgreens' drug monograph for nitrofurantoin strongly advises against taking any type of antacid that contains "magnesium trisilicate" with it. From what I've read, apparently the magnesium can impact how well nitrofurantoin is absorbed. Their statement goes on to mention that you should double check with a pharmacist in order to ensure whether or not a particular antacid has this ingredient prior to purchasing. Did your doctor recommend that all three types of medications be taken together? ## Thank yiu. No my doctor did not mention taking all 3 together. I do h......

State Medicaid In Pennsylvania

Keystone Mercy has stopped all prescriptions for ADD for anyone over 21. Mental Health program Magellan in my new county won't continue my psychiatrist's dosage of Clonazepam because of it's class of drugs. I checked what this drug is used for. Restless leg syndrome plus it's an anti seizure medication. What's the big deal here?JT ## I am not sure where you read that information on Clonazepam, but it's not actually accurate. It is a Benzodiazepine, which is the same class of medications as Xanax and Ativan, the name brand for Clonazepam would be Klonopin. While it may be used to treat some other conditions on rare occasions, it is not actually approved for such issues and it actually much more similar to a sedative and is approved to treat anxiety and nervous dis......

Staten Island Medicaid Doctors who would prescribe Xanas

My daughter stole all my pills, and I need Xanax. I am only using it to sleep, and I will not abuse it. ## If you already had a current prescription and it isn't due to be refilled yet, then you likely won't be able to get a new one filled, either. It's too soon and the pharmacies and government do keep track of this, there's also a good chance that Medicaid keeps track, as well. Learn more Xanax details here. Did you report the theft to the police? If so, then you may be able to get your doctor and pharmacy to work something out for, but if not, there isn't much you can do, since it is a controlled substance. I am sorry that you are out and have to suffer, but these types of medications are very strictly controlled and monitored. Are there any other questions or com......

The State of Oxycodone for 2015....

I have a close friend who has a disability and has been on Oxycodone-based drugs for a few years. I'll be honest and say that it's very difficult for people on this medication. You'll have constant issues getting meds, most doctors treat my friend as a drug addict and there are few doctors left that will help, although I understand their fear due to the bad reputation of Oxycodone-based drugs. I alwsys say, why make a drug and yet have doctors intimidated to prescribe it? They might as well not even produce it. In the end, there are very few doctors who'll prescribe it consistently and there also isn't a reliable method to find them, except thru trial and error. Saddest part is that the doctors created this dilemma so they need to have a solution of bringing these ou......
