I have started taking Sprintec BC. I am only taking it to prevent pregnancy. Not to regulate my period. I had an Endometreal Ablation. 5 yrs.ago. I haven't had a period since then. Is it okay to start a new pack of pills without taking the plaseblos? Hoping that it will be long enough to be safe to have sec without getting pregnant. 3 weeks??? ## Yes, it is safe to do that, unless your doctor has said there was some reason why you shouldn't. And to be protected against pregnancy, you only need to take them for 7 days, continuously. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Have you experienced any side effects from them? ## Thanks for the reply. And yes..side effects. Nausea after taking pill.

I am on Aptiom for Trigeminal Neuralgia. Any info about side effects when Aptiom is increased. Now at 1200 mg. any info would be greatly appreciated. I think this is my last hope before going to narcotics which really doesn't work on this excruciating nerve pain. Already had two unsuccessful surgeries and was told no more. Thank you.Updaa ## Hello, Mary! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in so much pain. The side effects won't be different, when the dosage is raised, but you may experience them, again and they may be more intense than at lower dosages. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Aptiom as possibly including nausea, dizziness, tremor, double vision, headache and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very much for your help. ## My...

Hey, all. I started Belivq on 11/26/14, it is now 12/3/14. I know that is not a lot of time. I am an eighteen year old girl, in college full time plus working full time. I weigh 210. I haven't lost a single pound. I don't know if it works or if I need more time. I Am going through depression, have been for two years. I also have a slightly elevated thyroid. My questions are: how long does this medicine usually take to be in effect? Since I am full time, the only things I eat are sugars and whatnot, how can I change my diet while on a college fund(in debt, not a lot of money)? I also have adhd so can I take my adderall with this drug? Should I keep going on Belivq or should I stop taking it. ## Hello, Patience! How are you? I'm sorry that it doesn't seem to be working for...

When does it stop working as well as an appetite suppressant and why does your weight loss slow down? ## Hello, Lauren! How are you? Our bodies eventually get used to any medication that we take regularly for a long period of time, which causes them to stop working as well for us. There's no precise time frame that can be given though, because it can vary from person to person. Regardless of the method used to lose weight, there is almost always a plateau that you hit, at some point. Your body also gets used to whatever you're doing to spur it, such as a medication, or exercise and weight loss can slow down, unless you change something to ramp it back up, such as changing your exercise routine, your diet, or the medication that you're taking. The FDA lists Qysmia's typic...

I'm so happy I found an active forum. Been googling all kinds of search terms because I am new to this medication and would love feedback and advise. I'm 52 and started on 30mg. I told my doctor I didn't feel much after only two days of that fun high. After only one week he upped me to 60mg. I am bipolar and take meds for that, depression, anxiety and under active thyroid. I'm thinking this dose is too strong. I'm feeling anxious and agitated after only 4 hours. Now it's been a total of 8 1/2 hours and still anxious but also really tired and zoned out. Any thoughts? Do I keep going hoping this side effect will go away? If I do how many days does it take? Or should I go back to 30 until I see my doctor in 3 days? Oh I'm also taking 500mg twice daily for weight...

I have degenerative disc disease and have taken opana ir and er for a while. My doctor has changed me to morphine since opana has left the market temporarily. I do not like the morphine. Could someone out there recommend something comparable to opana er 40 and ir 20 ## Opana is actually back on the market, though still in limited quantities in some areas, so you may want to have your doctor's office check with your local pharmacies to see who has it in stock, so you can go back to it. It was actually just a temporary shortage, while they were reformulating the tablets to help prevent abuse. Are there any other questions or comments? ## The opana er with the new plastic coating does not work as it once did. It is very hard to digest. Why is so much plastic coating necessary...I am no...

I am currently on klonopin for about 4 years now...(.50 3 x's a day) my anxiety is bad, in a bad mood alot...my dr sent me home with viibryd i have never been on an AD before scared to take??? ## It's not any more dangerous or risky to take than the Klonopin that you're already using every day and, as a matter of fact, in some ways it has less risks, because it isn't known to be habit forming and addictive, like the Clonazepam in Klonopin. You can learn more about the Viibryd here: Have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns? ## I have been on Viibryd for a year. I have found that I begin to get withdrawal as soon as 4 hours after I miss the time I usually take it. These include itching all over my body and shocks in my head. If I miss a day it's truly horribl...

I just want to know how safe is this drug. I have arthritis but could not go to drs due to high deductible. My mother-in-law brought it to me from Mexico, and I cant find anything online on it. I was previously put on methotrexate, celebrex and other meds for swelling and caused liver damage. So I just wanna make sure this medicine isnt gonna do the same. Please comment and let me know if and how well its worked. ## Thankfully, not too long ago we had a wonderful person post on our site named Denyse and she had this medication and was able to provide us with the details on it and what it contains and I have been able to find the English details on them for our American users. The active ingredients are 100mgs of Pheylbutazone, 200mgs of Methocarbamol and 0.75mgs of Dexamethasone. That s...

So I am on my 6th day of Adderal that was prescribed by my doctor since he felt that my symptoms I told him about we're due to ADHD. My doctor warned me that this can be a addictive drug and that it is much abused by people because of the high it can produce. So I started doing research and watching video's of people who have used it and I was starting to question taking it. Now that I have started taking it and have experienced what it's like to be on it I really don't understand how people get off on this. I am currently taking the 20mg RX. My first day on it I would say that I could slightly feel that I had taken something but hardly worth mentioning since allergy medication messes me up way more after the first day even that feeling has subsided. I noticed that with ...

Hi. I am taking a new beta blocker for 20 days now. I had to because of Sotalol and Apocard is not a good combination on the longer term (I have a light form of dilated cardiomyopathy). I take Nobiten now (5 mg) in the morning. Sometimes I still get a palpy and faster heart rate in the morning. When I get up early, take my pill and start to be active right-away. Some sources on the internet say it takes about 2-4 weeks to be fully active. Anyone with same experiences? I also have a itchy feeling over my body. Some rash on hands but I guess it's because of the hot and humid weather over here. I do have eczema for years. Ever since I was on a beta blocker. I do have health anxiety and I always am scared to drop dead... Thanks! ## Hello, Kaytie! How are you? Well, your heart rate is ne...

Hello Doctor put me on Fortesta for low testosterone level. I'm 44 and the level was 187. Been feeling pretty low, etc. The usual symptoms. Been on it about a week now. 4 pumps a day. Couple of questions: 1. Seems to take about 3-4 hours to completely dry. That seem right? 2. Leaving a red itchy patch at application site. Alternating daily, but running out of real estate on the inner thigh so to speak, before the area heals and can handle another application. Any recommendations to relieve the red itchy patches so that I can re-apply to the area sooner? Thanks! ## Hi BDD, I'm not sure what the answer would be to your first question, but if you're still concerned about the red itchy patches, I would personally recommend rubbing a couple drops of lavender essential oil (perhap...

I find that morphine only lasts 3-4 hrs @ most...how do I bring it up that I need more daily, something stronger than 30 mg ER, and or something for breakthrough (he can see that prev doc prescribed (30 mg IR oxy @ 8x daily as well as break through meds...he retired) ?? I have been taking pain pills for 7 years. I detoxed myself off Methadone and I almost had a heart attack. I started using when I was 23. I hurt my back, broke my tail bone, then at 25 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Now at 28, 13 surgeries later I'm addicted. I want my life back. I did detox myself once and for 6 months I was clean. The pain associated with detoxing was horrible. My chest hurt, my heart hurt, my legs, back, neck you name it. I have an enlarged kidney and I had a kidney stone that had to be surgically removed. That's all she wrote. I am a single mother trying to make it in this world. I have fought to save my life. At 21 I contracted an infection from a hospital after giving birth to my son. 8 days on IV antibiotics saved me, only 3% of people survive what ...

I have been on methadone for many years I am at 30mgs a day. Well someone gave me a half of a subutex. Is it safe to take it?I haven't my methadone yet for today. And can u take them together? ## Hello, Spanky! How are you? No, you shouldn't take them so close together, or combine them. Mainly, because it could throw you into precipitated withdrawals. The Buprenorphine in the Subutex takes a much stronger grip on your opiate receptors than most other opiates do, so it can kick it out, causing dangerous withdrawals and it can prevent other opiates from having any effect for several days, after taking it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mou...

I have a friend who wears a patch on their back. They also drink and take ibprophen, and some vicoden. Isn't this extremely dangerous? I tried to discuss this issue and they told me the doctor said it is fine. ## It's okay.. all except the drinking. All people on a patch should be taking a short acting narcotic as well for flare up pain. The IB is also okay. You should get them to stop drinking though. ## If it is all prescribed by their doctor, then they are monitoring their use, the problem starts when someone is combining them and they aren't prescribed. As to the drinking, no, that should never be combined with narcotics, that is very dangerous and even lethal in some situations. ## It depends what kind of patch it is. If it's the morphine patch I would seriously ste...

I just started a Suboxone treatment. I can't even tell you what a relief it is! I guess I didn't believe there was really something that could make that need for pain killers really go away! My Dr told me how much better I would feel, he was right! Here is my concern, I don't want to be on this stuff for an extended period of time. My Dr prescribed 1/2 of an 8mg film 3 times a day. But told me that I could take as little as I felt I needed. My question is this how long does 1 dose last? I want to take as little as possible.... So how do I do that? ## Hi newly sober, the amount of suboxone that you'll need really depends on the level of addiction/opiate tolerance you have but IMO you could take 4mgs twice a day and be fine. If not less. Suboxone is a powerful opiate with ...

Hi guys! I started take Lomedia 24 FE almost a year ago now. At first it was great, no periods at all and really seemed to work with little side effects. Now my life has become very hectic and my consistency with being on time taking it has altered. I have to be honest there are some days I forget and have to take it in the morning instead of my scheduled 10:30 pm time or maybe just forget all together. I know this is horrible. Although now I still get no periods so clearly it is still taking some effect on my body. I am so moody just crying and sad for no reason and so hungry ALL the time. I can't get my bloating to go away either. I'm extremely lethargic, to sleeping being the only thing I want to do. Is this all because not being regular about taking it? Shouldn't my peri...

While it is nice to find an online forum to share stories and post questions it is crucial to note that if you have any questions CALL YOUR DOCTOR. They are trained medical professionals. While all drugs have possible side effects, this drug was prescribed to you because the benefits outweigh the risks. ## In addition, if you experience any side effects let the prescribing doctor know as soon as possible...that's just common sense
