Joint Aches

Hi, I've been on Clindamycin 150mg x3, 3 times a day to treat SI Joint MRSA. I've taken this for 11months. I started jogging (I use to be an elite marathon runner) 3 months ago. No problems.. just the typical shin splints and common running injuries. During the past month I'm experiencing weakness in legs and extream soreness in my calf muscles, to a degree that I can only walk for 10min. My hospital checkups are 3months apart and I'm supposed to be on antibiotics for at least 1yr. I've decided to stop taking antibiotics yesterday, due to the pain. My husband has recently started taking 20 mg lipitor and is experiencing severe joint discomfort after that .Doctor has advised to lower the dose to 10mg .How can we cope with this,if anyone has experienced the same. ## Lipitor contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin, which is used to help lower cholesterol. The joint/muscle aches are very common side effects of this class of medications and in some people they are so severe that they have to discontinue use of the medication and try something else. Lowering the dose may help, but it could still take several weeks for those effects to taper off. I have been using fenofibrate for about 4 months. About that same time I started having sharp pain in my left hip area. I thought it might be a hip problem but it seems to be more like a muscle in the top of my buttocks to my very lower back. At times it seems to be more pronounced in the front side like my upper groin area. Sometime the pain lessens some if I am doing more physical activities during the day like mowing the lawn and working around the garden. I have also just in the last couple of days been having severe soreness in my right shoulder deltoid area. I just saw that the fenofibrate can cause some muscle aches. Got one month to before my 90 days on xarelto is over. I have been experiencing severe pain in my knees, ankles, hips and elbows. Never had this pain prior to the medication. I was on viibryd for a year and a half. Soon after starting the medication (40 mg) I started having aches and pains in my joints but I didn't think anything of it because I had recently had ankle surgery and attributed some of the discomfort from that. As the pain in my joints spread I became more concerned as I have Crohn's disease and there is arthritis that is related to Crohn's disease. Been on cymbalta for 2 years. Switched from lexapro to cymbalta to treat anxiety disorder. The during the 6 months transition to cymbalta, I began having very tight muscles in my calves and feet, a constant electrical buzzing sensation in my legs and feet, arm and wrist pain, chills. I thought they'd go away once I got used to cymbalta. Two years now (60 mg) and I still get buzzing sensations and stiff cramps calf and foot muscles. Every few weeks I experience a few days of joint pain, esp wrists and hands,and achy feet when I get up , especially balls of feet and ankles. Feet and hands also burn now and then. I have been on Xarelto since March of 2014 for bi lateral PEs. After a month or so, I had terrible joint pain for about 1.5 months, and then it seemed to have subsided. For the past 3 months or so, I get dizzy, nauseaus and my quadriceps seem to be achy. I have been tested for all types of auto immune diseases and all are negative. I just feel pretty cruddy everyday. I am a 44 year old male and have a blood clotting disorder and likely to be on anti coagulants for my lifetime. joint pain in both elbows from taking 20mg of lipitor, I quit taking it may 22, 2009. Doctor say's it's not from the drug. I have been doing the same job for many years and all my problems started when I went on this drug. Being extremely fatigued, muscle aches. Slowly the tiredness has subsided. I have been taking contrave for 8 days, took the second dose and woke up the next day with a headache. Took my morning dose and ended up with a high fever (102) headache and just achy all over. I have been taking dilaudid 8 mg 3 times a day for degenerative disc disease. It seems that I have been in more pain than when I was taking Vicodin. I have muscle and joint pain. My legs and feet hurt really bad sometimes it hurts to walk. I have tried telling my doctor but he just looks at me with this blank look on his face. I have been experiencing joint and muscle aches. Also a loss of memory and totally can't smell. Also things don't taste as good. I am on neurontin as well. Will Naproxen help for tramadol withdrawal reflief? I take 100 mg losartan a day along with 10mg amlodipine. I have really bad aches and pains in all my joints and muscles. Is losartan to blame as I did not have it before? ## It is not a statin drug, but it can cause those types of side effects in some people that take it. The NIH lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. The increased urination could also cause it, if you are becoming dehydrated.
