I have a friend that lost her husband only a fed days after getting a new supply of Jevity. The company will not take it back and with the bills she does not need to let it go bad. Is there anyone in our area that might be using it that would buy it. She could use whatever we could get for it. We are in Newport News, Virginia ## If it something that can only be obtained by prescription, then the resale of it would be illegal. The reason the company won't let her return it is due to government regulations. Once it is out of their hands and in the hands of a person, it is difficult to ensure that no tampering has occurred. The same would apply going from one person to another. I am sorry for her loss and what she is going through, but unfortunately, there really isn't much that ca...

My Mother suffers from MS and has a PEG tube using Jevity 1.5 3 times a day, has anyone expereinced increase pulse rate ? ## Hi Kevin! How is she feeling? Has she ever been diagnosed with any allergies? Or has she ever had any type of acid reflux, heartburn, ulcers or etc.? Both of those may cause this issue. If she's sensitive or allergic to something in it it could cause an elevate pulse rate. And if she's had excess acid issues, she may have some gastric erosion over the vagus nerve and that can cause elevated heart rate, as well. And some people do that just from eating, drinking or generally ingesting anything. There's also a chance it could be related to the MS. How high is her heart rate going? The deciding factor is whether or not it's hitting dangerous levels. E...

My husband has had a GJ tube since Feb 25/15. He is experiencing extreme abdominal pain for about 4 hours each evening, starting about 4:30pm. His feedings start about 5:30-6pm. No one has an answer for us. We tried breaking the feedings up from 15 hours, to 2 or 3 sessions, no help. Also, he has red, awfully sore skin in the groin area since starting the feedings as well. Is this a burn from strong urine caused from the feedings? We have tried medication, ointments and NOTHING is helping this poor man! Any help would be much appreciated. ## Jevity has been known to cause side effects, such as nausea, stomach burning, stomach pain, bowel problems, and diarrhea, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. However, I haven't found any reports, at this time, of it causing ur...

My disabled daughter has been PEG fed with Jevity Promote for the last two weeks. We noticed that her thirst increased dramatically and she became very sleepy, both of which I found listed as tow of the more common side effects. However, we were also alarmed to note that she seemed to be suffering from fluid retention. Her face and ankles became puffy and swollen, and she seemed much more bloated generally. The day she started eating of her own accord, we noticed an almost immediate improvement in the swelling. Does anyone have any similar experience?

My dad has been on Jevity 1.5 since receiving a Peg tube in February. Most recently, he has complaints of constipation, and digestive issues. He has seen his doctor about this situation, and was recommended to take Miralax. He takes Miralax, but still remains constipated and bloated. Is there anyone else who has or knows of anyone who has these issues? If so, what are they taking or any recommendations to help with the issues?? ## Yes, it is pretty potent with the amount of nutrients it contains and has been known to cause those types of issues in some people that are on it, as well as nausea. He should speak to his doctor, again. They may need to prescribe something stronger to help with these issues, if the Miralax isn't doing it. Does anyone else have any ideas of what might help?

My husband is on 4 cans of Jevity 1.5 a day. He is urinating about every 20 minutes and at night he fills a complete bedside handheld urinal. He is complaining so much about waking up all night to pee. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? According to the FDA, the nutrients in Jevity have been known to cause that, along with occasional nausea and constipation. Is he on any other medications? Because there are many that could also contribute to the problem.

How many years past the expiration date would if be safe to use Jevity for nutrition. If it was stored in a non-climate controlled environement would this adversely affect it? ## Can you drink outdated jevity ,if so what happens to it. ## Generally, it is best to avoid outdated liquids, because as the FDA warns, they may turn sour/go bad, and could make you sick if you use them, this goes for both supplements, and medications. Thus, drinking it could cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply. Is there anything else I can help with?

Do people having only jevity 1.5 use the bathroom as if they were eating normal food? or do they suffer constipation...and if so... what are we supposed to do? ## Jevity is a liquid nutritional supplement, since it contains iron, it may cause some consipation, as well as dark stool. Have you asked your doctor what you should do, in case you suffer constipation? Most people find relief with natural fiber products, that help with bowel movements.

I have been using Jevity 1.5 cal with PEG tube. This past week, my stomach has not been accepting well. I get cramps similar to food poisoning. I also experience feeling extremely cold then clammy... I need a heating pad to keep me warm. I experience 3 -4 hours of discomfort after each feeding which means, am sick all day. Any suggestions? ## Have you consulted with your doctor? They are really the only person that is going to be able to help discover the answer to this dilemma and find a solution. There may be an ingredient in the Jevity that doesn't agree with you, perhaps you're sensitive to it, or allergic. ## Perhaps it's the cheap ingredients and GMO s that keep company profits high and people sick! ## I suspect that Jevity is causing lots of mucus is there a substitut...

Where in Jacksonville, Fl. can I find this product for the lowest price? Helping a friend with cancer. ## Most pharmacies should carry it, or should be able to order it for you. The FDA warns that it may cause nausea, headache, and constipation, due to the supplemental ingredients in it, as well as its potency. Does anyone else have any advice, or ideas to offer?

Has anyone experienced extreme mucous in nasal passages and throat from using this product. The label says it is suitable for those with lactose intolerance but I seem to be having cramping and constipation and so much phlegm and mucous that I can't sleep nights. It contains milk which can be contributing to the problem. I do have sinus problems but I do not have an infection or a cold. This has been going on since I started the Jevity. If anyone has any info please pass it on to me. Thanks. ## Have you consulted your doctor about it? This is a nutritional supplement product, so it isn't really evaluated for side effects, as is done for something considered an actual drug, so unfortunately, this site doesn't have a lot of information on it. Therefore, I really think talking ...

My nephew has a brain injury and doesn't communicate at all. He has a feeding tube and uses Jevity for nutrition. He continues having trouble with kidney stones. He can't tell us but we know he is suffering. When is passes them you see them in his urine bag. Is there anyone that knows if it causes kidney stones? ## Hello, Laurie! How is your nephew doing? It depends on what type they are. If they are calcium based, then yes, the Jevity might be contributing to them. However, they could also be unrelated and caused by something else. Is he on any medications regularly? Have the stones ever been analyzed by a lab to see what type they are? Has he been dehydrated, at all? ## He does not take any medication. Does Jevity 1.5 cause constipation and excessive gas and hiccups? ## Good question I was wondering the same thing! She is not eating much of anything else and we have increased the water we put in the tube but she still has not gone. She has dementia and doesn't always know if something is bothering her or not. I am hoping a little Sennekot will do the trick! Does anybody really know this answer? ## My sister is on Jevity 1.2 has has problems with constipation. Miralax powder has helped her greatly. I have jevity 1.5 formula that expired in December 2013. Is it still ok to use?? Also, I have medicare and they refuse to pay for enteral feeding suplies. Also, do you know how I can get my hands on kmku kangaroo joey 500ml pump sets?? I am in desperate need of them. ## Since it is considered a medical food, due to its contents and formulation, no, it would not be a good idea to use it once expired. I'm sorry, but I also have no information on those pump sets. Have you checked with your doctor and pharmacy? Does anyone else know where to get them?

We recently were given 6 cases of Jevity 1.5 cal. The expiration date reads 1SEP07. My husband vomited immediately after feeding through the tube in his stomach. Ramnarine, they don't get dangerous past the expiration, but will slowly lose some of their potency. Are there any other...
