Used to treat MRSA ## To treat MRSA, Vancomycin or other antibiotics in the same class are used. Other options may include: Flucloxacillin, Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin. I am not, however, finding any that start with an R. but it is possible that some doctors may use Rocephin, the active ingredient in Ceftriaxone, though it is not listed as being used to treat MRSA. i was recently prescribed bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) for an infected burn. on the second day, i woke up with a really sore throat. by night, i had a fever, and the next morning, i had a sinus infection--which i used to get chronically from about 11 years ago, up until 4 years ago, in which time ive only had one. a day later i had a productive cough, semi bad but nowhere near as bad as the bronchitus the sinus infections would, after months, eventually turn into. those infectionswere clearly bacterial as whenever I did end up taking antibiotics, they always ended within a few days. So last month I had a horrible uti and was perscribed antibiotics about 2 weeks out of the whole month so after I finished up the antibiotics about a week later I got my withdrawl bleed and during my withdrawl bleed I did have intercourse without a condom but I finished my last period on sep 4th and started spotting today sep 11th and I spotted for about 20 min and now its gone ive been on lo loestrin fe for almost 4 months now is this normal please let me know what you think!!! also I take my pills everyday at the same time im about 20 days away from my period. ## What antibiotics did you take? My brother in law was just diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. It has metastasized to his brain, liver, and bones. He started xalkori a week ago and is having terrible diarrhea. He is still in the hospital and has now been told he has C Diff. He is losing weight, is weak and is always cold. Our family is concerned this is the medication, but it seems to be the C Diff. Recently ive been sick for 4 days with tonsilitis...i cant go to my family dr as i dont have an appt so i have no choice but to take amoxicillin from phil., which expired last sept of this year. Ive been on Jadelle since November 2013 and had episodes of bleeding non stop which was later controlled by Norethestrone,after that was sorted i had a fungal infection and the GP said i had an infection in my uterus and i was given some antibiotics but the itching never stopped. it later just stopped on its own as soon as it stopped i also stopped breastfeeding my son who was now 15months old. a week later i started feeling nauseous but nothing serious and i was advised by a nurse from our local clinic that it was just the hormones that have an imbalance and it would normalize. just last night i started having a running stomach which i never have unless im pregnant. I have been taking pain pills for 7 years. I detoxed myself off Methadone and I almost had a heart attack. I started using when I was 23. I am taking 100mg every 12 hrs for 7 days, i have only taken two pills, but am starting to develop a skin rash. Should i be worried? I know i may just be paranoid, but i want to check it out. ## Hello, Carol! How are you? While it is always best to have such a symptom checked out, a non-allergic skin rash can be a typical side effect of most antibiotics. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea. Do you have any hives, swelling or itching? ## Just some itching. But not horrible. Ive got the pretty common side effect then ive experienced major headaches.
