I have been taking itraconazole for lung fungus for 6 weeks. The dose was increased to 200mg twice daily but it causes me really bad nausea. Is there anything I can take to counteract the nausea? ## Are you making sure to take it with food, rather than on an empty stomach? As reported by the NIH, that sometimes helps prevent the nausea. Other side effects are listed as possibly including dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? ## Thanks. Always take itraconazole with food - never on empty stomach. Also take Adizem and Enalapril for hypertension.

Hello, I've have resistant ringworm for awhile now. I usually take oral terbinafine and it clears up but comes back about 3 months later. My dermatologist has prescribed Itraconazole 100 MG to take twice daily for 14 days. The listed bad side effects of this medicine worried me. Also, I have read that if you take 200 MG per day, you should only take for 7 days and then wait three weeks. Is it safe to take this medicine at this dose? I am doing a 3 months treatment of itraconazole consisting of one week treatment and three Weeks without , the same treatment as to be repeated for the next three months I have found some changes of behavior with me , depression, paranoia , get irritated very often , i just want to know if other peoples taking this treatment found the same effect . ## Hello, John! Anyone else taking or taken IV fluconazole for valley fever? I first tried 4 weeks of 400mg tablets but got serious side effects. Then tried itraconazole and after 4 wks it was not even showing up in blood levels. Then got a PICC line and in my 13th week of fluconazole 400/day IV. Had blood clots so also on lovenox. And had yet another clot so now on heparin. I have hair thinning and hair loss, exhaustion, swollen muscles and body, swollen feet, no taste buds, no appetite, itching sensation without a rash. Had TONS of worse side effects on the tablet fluconazole. Worried about long term effects. I've been experiencing an itching problem near my genital area for the past 35-40 days. My doctor prescribed me luliconazole cream earlier and when that didn't help me he gave me itraconazole cream. I used the cream for 4-5 days and there was no relief in my itching problem.
