I would like to know if Losartan Pot Tab has side effects such as breaking out in red blotches similar to hives. My husband has been taking this in place of benicar and we wondered if this could be causing these blotches that itch like crazy. ## Has he contacted his doctor? Losartan is different than Benicar, which contains the active ingredient Olmesartan, so it is possible that he's having an allergic reaction, even if he never had a problem with the Benicar. ## I am 45 years old.I was only a little hypertensive but the doctor recommended Losar H which i have been taking for the past 6 years.
