I just got the no-name Apap Dich Isometh filled at Walmart. They said they just got it in. I haven't picked it up, yet. I actually had a Midrin prescription at another pharmacy valid until May 2012, and Walmart said they thought they could transfer the script without the doctor rewriting it. Worst case, I'll have my doctor rewrite the script. Yea! and good luck! I'll report back in a day or two as to whether it turned out as good as it sounds! ## I promised to report back in a day or two. Success. I was able to get a 60-pill supply of ISOMETH/APAP DICHLORCAP MAC from Walmart. It looks to me like Wal-mart took it upon themselves to call my doctor and have the script rewritten. When I had called about it a couple of days ago, when I said Isometh, the tech knew exactly what I w...

I take this med for my migraines. My insurance will not pay anything, and it is costing me almost $100 for 25 pills. Is there a generic I can purchase instead? ## Hello, Gilmer Gal! How are you? Unfortunately, what you've listed is the generic. The name brand would be Midrin. Have you tried checking the price with other pharmacies in your area? They may be cheaper. Another alternative is to try one of the discount cards, such as the free one offered on this site. You click the link, put in your email address and print the card. They do save a lot of money for some people. Typical side effects to this medication may include nausea, drowsiness and dizziness. Does anyone else have any suggestions that may help? ## Thank you so much. Wow, in my next life I want to be a pharmaceutical co...

What are the most serious side effects? ## This is usually used to treat migraines and tension headaches. Common side effects: nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. I can't find this listed in a US database, can I ask where you obtained it? ## Thank you for posting what the side effects for this medication is. My neurologist decided it might help my headaches but didn't really tell me what the side effects would be? Do you know if it is okay to take with other pills, such as Topiramate? ## How long does the dizziness and lightheaded feeling last. I started taking isometric 10 mg about a week ago

what kind ofsedative is in this ## This is not used as a sedative. This capsule contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, 100mgs of Dichlorophenazone and 65mgs of Isometheptene, commonly old under the brand name Migrex and used to treat migraine headaches. The Dichlorophenazone is a mild sedative, so that is why it may have been thought to be a used for sedation. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help you with?

My pharmacy is telling me this has been discontinued and I am desparate to find some as it is the only thing that works on my migraines! ## I'm sorry, but it appears that it is no longer available, at all. We have had several people asking about it and I can't find any company that lists it as being available. What other medications have you tried? Have you consulted your doctor about the issue? ## My doctor was unable to recommend an alternative to the Midrin/Epidrin (isometh/dichlor/apap) combination. It is the vaso-dilatation effect of that drug combo that is what seems to help the migraines brought on by changes in barometric pressure. I am going to try low dose Imitrex as an alternative, which is available both as a pill or a nasal spray, but would prefer to not use his mor...

what do these # mean on solid red capsule with isometh/apap? ## U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have unique letters or numbers (sometimes in addition to a logo of some kind) imprinted on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. However, the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so there are many, many pills on the market, both over the counter and prescription that could meet that physical description. Because of this, the imprint (such as 440) is really the key to identifying the pill. Did you have any other questions or comments concerning this?

Red capsule with IP 141on it ## ACETAMINOPHEN; DICHLORALPHENAZONE; ISOMETHEPTENE (Amidrine(R), Duradrin(TM), Midchlor(R), Midrin(R), Migquin(TM), Migratine(TM), Migrazone(TM), Migrex(TM), Mitride(TM)) is a combination product used to migraine or tension-type headaches. Federal law prohibits the transfer of this drug to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed. Do not share this medicine with anyone else. Generic acetaminophen; dichloralphenazone; isometheptene capsules are available. ## Does this medication cause weight gain? ## That identification is correct, it is a generic for Midrin, a pain reliever. Weight gain is not a common side effect of these types of medications. Have you spoken to your doctor or pharmacist?
