Is Vicodin Stronger Than Morphine

My Doc prescribed me 15 mg of Morphine. Ive been on vicodin 7.5 mg for three years. How much of a difference is morphine? I took half of the blue pill just now. ## The Morphine is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, it is also a straight narcotic, without the Acetaminophen that is in the Vicodin. It sounds like your doctor is trying to help you get better control of your pain. The main issue here is, what type of Morphine pills are they? If they are the time released version, generics for MS Contin, then cutting the pill in half could be very dangerous and should not be done. How different is Morphine Sulfate 30mg E 653 from a 30mg perocet, and is it dangerous to take it like its a percocet or vicodin, is it ok to take in severe cases of plantars fasciitis ## There is no 30mg Percocet, so I assume you're talking about a regular release Oxycodone tablet, whereas Percocet would contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone. As to a comparison, Oxycodone is actually one and half times stronger than Morphine, so it would take 45mgs of Morphine to equal 30mgs of the Oxcycodone, so you may not get as much pain relief, as you would from the Oxycodone. if you take a 25 mg Fentanyl Patch and it is not that strong of a prescription for you, can you take additonal painkillers like vicodin as needed? This is a narcotic pain reliever, very strong and addictive. ## I wouldn't say they are "very strong", they are strong if you're not used to narcotic pain relievers, much stronger than a darvocet, tylenol 3, or even a plain vicodin 5/500, but weak compared to pain relievers such as percocet, roxycodone, morphine, dilaudid, demerol, oxycontin, fentanyl, and the many other stronger painkillers on the market. i just got hurt 2 weeks and i sliped 2 disk in my back i have been to 3 different doctors and they wont give me hardly anything stronger than a oxycodone 5 one doctor gave me 10s and their saying i will prolly be in pain for the rest of my life!!! but they dont seem to help a whole lot with the pain do u think its because i am only 23 that they wont give me a stronger dose or what??? plzzz help someone! or if they know a doctor that will help i live in maryland and will be willing to drive a couple hours just to see the doctor. ## Will you drive to New York.
