Just had back surgery.my dr. left prac.2days after. referred me to southern pain spec.im in more pain now they presc. One month appt 15-20 days change meds. confiscate meds. thishappened 3times always new dr. ## Hi knute, Sorry to hear about your repeating situation with new doctors. I'm not sure I fully understand the gist of what you're saying, but it sounds like your best bet would be to find some other alternative form of therapy that can safely be used alongside what you're already taking. That way, if they ever do confiscate your meds for whatever reason, you'd at least have a backup form of treatment to help alleviate some of the pain. Have you ever figured out why they keep taking your meds from you though? Surely there's a logical reason for their action, if...

What type of effect do you think Lyrica will have on a first-time female patient that weighs 125lbs? ## Depends on the dose. I am a 140lb female who was on no medication & took 150mg & was totally wiped out to the extent that i would hurt myself & not even feel it but dependence grows quickly & the withdrawals are the worst ever - google it & read the horror stories. Please please approach this drug with caution, especially if you have an addictive personality. ## Hello, Peg! How are you? Lyrica is not a narcotic, nor is it related to them. It is actually not any type of analgesic. It is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with some mood disorders and certain types of nerve pain, due to the action is has in the brain. I am on 100 MCG Duragesic Fentanyl Patches. I wear 1 every 48 hrs. I called my prescription insurance company to ask how early can I get a 20 day supply filled. They said that I can fill it after I have used 75% of the script. How many days early is that? ## Hello, Robin! How are you? 75% of 20 days would be 15 days, however, if you're having it filled at a regular pharmacy, since it is a controlled substance, they may not fill it that early. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Now I'm trying to fig out the other non narcotic anxiety/ pain ## Have you tried looking into any natural alternatives, such as Essential Oils or various herbs? Kava Kava seems to be a solid option for panic attacks/anxiety: "This is one of the most popular choices for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. It is a powerful herb from the South Seas. Used as an alternative to Valium, research studies have found it reduces anxiety equivalently. The advantage is that there are no addictive side effects with the Kava Kava. I found this pill and wanted to know all of the effects, side effects. Can you tell if someone has been taking it? Can they get addicted to it, what do you do if you think someone is? ## This tablet contains 15mgs of Morphine, in a time released formulation, it is a generic for MS Contin, it is a narcotic pain reliever. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Yes, it can be habit forming if used for a long period of time and addictive if someone abuses it. As to being able to tell if someone is taking it, it can be hard to tell, since it doesn't affect everyone the same, but if you have concerns, you may want to just speak to them about it. Are there any other questions?

I had a surgery in 1998 for "smashed" disks found during the surgery and after trying every narcotic known to man, I obtained immediate relief with methadone. I was on it for 15 years until the recent government fiasco, which IMHO had no business interfering as no one knows but the patient and their primary doctor just how severe the pain is. I have no clue why methadone works so well and other even more powerful narcotics don't, and for 15 years I lead a rather normal life. Now I've been cut back to 4 methadone a day plus MS-Contin and still three 10mg methadone provide me more relief than two 30mg MS-Contin not to mention the MS-Contin has nearly doubled my prescription bill. They took bone from my hip but had to insert a steel prosthesis as almost all of my disks were...
