I took one of these Zomax in 1981 at the age of 19. I immediately became hot and passed out. By the time,my parents got me to the ER, I only had a pulse under my tongue. They had to shock me. I was obviously ok, however, they told me to never ever take another NSAID (anti-inflammatory) again. Now later in life, I need some NSAIDS for arthritis. Has anyone else who had a reaction taken any other types of these drugs since then? I am scared to put a Tylenol in my mouth due to this experience. ## With your history, you need to see a rheumatologist. There are many options for arthritic patients these days. A specialist is best to outline your options in consideration of your history. ## there is no magic treatment for osteoarthritis! aspirin, tylenol, and nsaid type drugs. if allergic to on...

Tylenol No. 2 Acetaminophen + Codeine

Codeine/paracetamol, also known as codeine/acetaminophen and co-codamol, is a compound analgesic consisting of a combination of codeine phosphate and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Co-codamol tablets are used for the relief of mild to moderate pain when paracetamol or NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, aspirin or naproxen alone do not sufficiently relieve a patient's symptoms, or where their use is ill-advised. In 2019, it was the 173rd most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more...

I find that when I use ibuprofen, tylenol, aspirin or triaminic -d that I get a patch of discoloration of my cheeks. It varies, most of the time seems to have a purplish undertone. Please advise if there is anyone out there with the same experience /advise. ## A rash is a known side effect of Ibuprofen, and Aspirin, as it is with many others, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. Another possibility is that you may have rosacea, which is known to be aggravated by some medications, including those that can dilate blood vessels, and/or cause blood thinning. Have you consulted a doctor? It would be best to have this checked out, to be sure what's causing it, and what your treatment options might be.

I have been taking Tramadol for at least 9 years now for chronic post-surgical right knee pain, back pain, and Arthritis. They just took Tramadol off of the $4 list at wal-mart and Target. I do not like narcotics because they make me feel sick, and have horrible withdrawal symptoms and side effects. I am already physically dependent on the Tramadol so I don't want to make it any worse by adding a Narc to it. I am allergic to NSAIDS to the point that if I take them it will kill me, Tramadol is becoming to expensive, and Tylenol doesn't even come close to alleviating my pain, I am in so much pain all of the time...what pain meds can I take that isn't expensive, works well on severe bone and joint pain and not an NSAID??? ## Actually, Tramadol is classified as an opiate/narcotic...

Can someone please explain the difference between Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and Tylenol? I’m already maxed out on maximum Ibuprofen at 1600 mg a day spread out 4xs a day and a (really low dose of Gabapentin 200 mg 3xs a day) for forearm pain. The Ibuprofen isn’t enough when the pain hits hard and fast despite having a high tolerance for pain. ## Acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol or APAP) is the same thing as Tylenol. Tylenol is just the retail "brand" name. It is not an NSAID. It can be hard on your liver but typically won't cause ulcers or bleeding. Ibuprofen (brand name Advil) IS an NSAID which can increase your risk of bleeding, raise blood pressure and increase the chance of cardiovascular ailments. Tylenol and Ibuprofen are safe to take together and c...

Can I take Tylenol rapid relief with naproxen? Just had meniscus surgery and they gave me naproxen to take. Not cutting it for the pain in my thigh!!! I heard of Tylenol rapid relief and I'm hoping I can take naproxen with it since it works so fast? ## They can. both be taken, if your doctor approves of you doing so, sometimes they Acetaminophen, and an NSAID are given together to help better control pain, and swelling. Ref: Naproxen and Acetaminophen Information You may also experience side effects, according to FDA reports, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it okay to take Instaflex with Declofenac, Tramadol and Tylenol. I know white will bark has a substance similar to aspirin. I'm wondering about the Declofenac (NSAID) with an aspirin-type ingredient. Also, I no longer have AFIB but am still taking a low dose of Atenolol and Flecainide (preventive) and am slowing going off of it. Okay to take the Instaflex. My doc doesn't know a lot about these herbs. ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? I'm sorry, but no one knows a lot about herbs and natural remedies. Since they can't be patented like prescription drugs, no one has any reason to spend the money to evaluate them for side effects or interactions with medications. Have you tried contacting the manufacturers to ask if they have any information for you? ## Can you take instafle...

Does Meloxicam contain Aspirin or Tylenol? ## Hi Lynnette - No, Meloxicam is its own drug / active ingredient. It is a different drug from Aspirin or Acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol), though it is in a similar classification. Meloxicam is a Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory drug (NSAID) most commonly prescribed for osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). More Details:

I've had a gastric bypass 10 years ago and still have not taken an NSAID orally. Presently, I'm having trouble with arthritic knees and have tried ice treatments, elevation, tylenol, turmeric, prescription creams and need something stronger. Can I take a NSAID under my tongue? ## I can't take anti-inflammatories due to stomach issues and was wondering if there are sublingual forms of anti-inflammatories anyone has taken? I had a knee replacement 11 months ago. ## There is a nasal spray of Ketorolac that is available, but it would require a prescription from your doctor. Alternatively, there are sublingual and liquid forms of Ibuprofen available in children's doses. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. Technically, you coul...

I went see my primary doctor for low back pain and gave me meloxicam 15mg to take once a day with food. Will it be safe to take? ## Hello, Vic! How are you? If you have chronic gastritis, you shouldn't take any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, such as the Meloxicam. They can be very harsh on the stomach and can cause gastritis, or gastritis flare ups as side effects. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## tyvm, i'll call my doctor to see if he can prescribe something that's not NSAID, tylenol alone doesn't seem to help very much.

I was prescribed this medicine to help with the many migraines I get. I get some of them in the back of my neck and my normal migraine medicines (Relpax) and (Naratriptan) don't always help. They do work more for the migraines that I get behind the eyes. Anyway, I am trying to get more information about Nabumetone 500. For example: what medicines are ok to take with this drug and what meds would be extremely unsafe? Ex: I was told to avoid Naproxen. What about Tylenol or Excederin? What about Butal/Apap/Caf 50/325/40? Thank you!! ## Nabumetone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, that means you should avoid other NSAIDs, while taking it, which is why you were warned about the Naproxen. Taking more than one of them, at once, seriously increases your risk of developing bleeding proble...

I have bulging disk and arthritis in my back.Been taking four 10 milligrams of oxycodone for over a year, the pain is getting worse. My doctor said I'm.at.my limit for med because I got three stents. Would like to know can I take 15mg of cortisone with aTylenol. My doctor.said.I.need meds that has Tylenol In it. Is this true. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? Are you sure your doctor said you need Acetaminophen? Usually, when someone has a heart condition, it's Aspirin, which is classified by the FDA as an NSAID that also works as a blood thinner. Cortisone is a steroid, I'm not sure if that's what you meant to type. If so, then no, this is a class of medications you will generally have to abstain from, they tend to elevate your heart and blood pressure, which could put you ...

Am I Able To Take Codeine #3, If I'm Allergic To Penicillin&Amox? And Am I Able To Take Naproxen ? ( Seperatly ) ## Yes. Codiene # 3 is Codeine 30 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg and is used for pain relief. Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is used to reduce inflammation and lower fever. Penicillin and amoxicillin are antibotics and are used to treat infections. Being allergic to Penicillin and amoxicillin has nothing to do with Codiene # 3 and narpoxen. ## Codeine #3 IS NOT 30mg of codeine. That is actually called Tylenol #3 with codeine. Please be careful what you read on here! Codeine comes in 2.5, 5, 7 mg, etc. This reply was shocking to read,v and I hope that wasn't an actual doctor replying. ## I believe the person who said Codeine 3 meant Tylenol...

I know not to take any of the Ibuprofen NSAID family, those of the dangers of interaction with the steroid. I've been taking regular Tylenol but they only help me for an hour or two of the most. Is there anything stronger that anyone can recommend to help me with the pain? Thanks in advance. ## Beyond these over the counter medications, you would need to see your doctor to have something prescribed for you, since these are the only medications available without a prescription. Is this the only medication you're taking? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, mood swings, and insomnia.

What can I take for pain such as headache and/or menstrual cramps? Been on Xarelto for just under a week. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? You should check with your doctor, before taking anything, but you should be okay to take Tylenol. Just not any of the NSAIDs, such as Advil or Aleve, since they can increase the risk of bleeding. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Xarelto as possibly including nausea, dizziness, joint/muscle aches and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for the response Verwon. I do have a couple of other questions. I'm chronically anemic and have heavy menstrual cycles. I am taking lots of iron to try and prevent having to have a blood transfusion if my period is heavier due to taking Xarelto. My doctor says it's ok to t...

I ran out of my meloxicam that I take for severe arthritis and degenerative disc disease. Due to being in the process of changing PCPs I am looking for an ITC comparable to the meloxicam or something that might even work better. I am a lot of pain and am having a hard time moving. To further complicate issues I had gastric bypass surgery 9 years ago and am supposed to be limited in taking NSAIDs. I am currently taking 2600mg of Tylenol two to three times a day and roughly 1600mg of Advil with minimal relief. Please advise. ## Unfortunately, there really isn't anything available over the counter that is a strong, which is why Meloxicam is available by prescription only.
