People that take Tizanidine will test positive for opiates. It's considered a narcotic, because there's 1 ingredient that they use in this and its used in opiates like percocet. The reason I know? - I just got prescribed it and it is a muscle relaxer, but my doctor told me it is considered a narcotic and he gave me a urine stick to take home, so he knows I'm taking it. This is Tizanidine 4mgs, the four splits are intended to let you split the pill into several doses in case you can't take it all at once. Lortab does not come in tablets like that. This is a generic for Zanaflex, it is a muscle relaxant and not any type of opiate narcotic.

I was prescribed amitriptyline for my back pain. I took one 4mg on Tues night at 9pm. I slept most of the 22nd. Maybe awake 3 hours out of that day, but was very confused! I woke up at noon on the 23rd. Is this drug too strong for me or is this normal? Could it be the combination of the two medications amitriptyline and tizanidine? As far as a drug screening goes it really depends on what they look for in the urine/blood sample. They can look for narcotic, illicit, and commonly abused drugs. If it is an employer looking most likely they wouldn't even check for that drug.
