Did you know a lot of toothaches and face sweeling is due to your main sinus duct where your cheek bone is, that is filled up with fluid, called sinusitis? Most people don't even know you can get that. Causes teeth to hurt, gums swollen, face swelling. It's always good to see a doctor first so they can put you on the right meds. I am on Erythromycin 100s twice per day from my doc. My roommate, has a tooth ache or ear ache or something and wants to take one to "give his immune system a boost" he claims. I Don't think just taking one will do that much good, and it might do harm. I really don't know. Should I give him one? ## You are correct, it really isn't going to help and, since it will not be enough to clear up an infection, if one is present, it creates the risk of the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria, which could lead to serious health issues. Your roommate should see his own doctor, or dentist and get proper treatment for whatever is causing the problem. Is there anything else I can help with?
