My doctor prescribed me Oxy Neo but when I went to the pharmacy they weren't covered they cost $350. That's way to expensive!!! Then the pharmacist told me about a generic brand which cost $170. I have been on 35 mg of oxycodone a day for the last 2.5 months after I had surgery. Btw it it was 5 mg IR for pain as need. I have tapered down to 2.5 mg a day for the last few days. My question is I took my last dose (1.25 mg) 30 hours ago and I feel very little withdrawal. I have have been taking percocet for pain of 2 rods in my back and a 357 mag gunshot wound to my thigh which shattered my femur. I was taking 70mg of oxcodone a day for pain but now my new pain management doctor put me on 30mg of MS Contin 2x a day plus 5/325 percocet 3x a day if needed for break thru pain.My question is will this be as effective or not and why? I have been reading all the input and I would just like to say that I am a 35 year opiate dependent person with back problems and GI problems for some of the people suffering people I would just like to say that there are alternatives and ways of the attaining pain medication first of all they don't have a regular oxycontin 100 milligram and for that matter its a 160 milligram and its green sold in Canada not the US for the people with a the lot of issues try using oxymorphone instead of hydromorphone it's much better its time release you and it is a mixure of oxy and dilaudid.
