Is Watson one of them? ## @bankrolled, From what I could gather, promethazine codeine (phenergan w/ codeine) is or was being manufactured by the following pharmaceutical companies: Alpharma Actavis (NDC is 0472-1627-16) Tris Pharma Inc. (NDC is 27808-065-01) Sun Pharma Inc. (NDC is 57664-185-31) Qualitest Pharma (NDC is 0603-1585-58) Hi-Tech Pharma I didn't see Watson listed, but Actavis bought them out a long time ago, so I'd imagine that their version ended up taking Watson's place. Apparently they came in one pint (473 mL) bottles. I hope this info helps!

Does it have an expectorant in it ## Hi Jim, Neither medication is actually in the drug class of expectorants like guaifenesin. However I have seen other brand names of promethazine + codeine (such as "Phenergan Expectorant/Codeine" manufactured by Wyeth) being marketed as an expectorant. So I'm led to believe that promethazine does exhibit such effects regardless of its classification. Hope this helps!

I'm having problems getting my prescriptions filled at cvs because the pharmacist doesn't feel comfortable filling it. I have been prescribed promethazineDM for over a year now but my allergies have been so bad I had to start getting the codeine instead of the DM. Codeine, being an opiate, would pose a drug interaction with both the Buprenorphine AND Naloxone contained in Suboxone. Based on the information in that link I think you're right that the formula could've been acquired from Actavis. Is that true? ## @Jabnet, Interestingly enough, even though Watson is now known as Actavis, for the longest time I've continued to see the Watson logo still depicted on many of their tablets. However, what makes this even more confusing is that as of August 2016, Actavis was acquired by Teva; so it would probably be difficult to tract down the Watson name on various products if they keep passing the baton from one company to the next every few years. I have a bad lung infection and cough that I have been battling for a while. Its a nasty wet and dry coug. I have brown flem that has little particles of something that is brown, its pretty scary to me. Im 19 now but have dealt with this for about 3 years now, it keeps coming back and the pain is just really annoying. Ive used the syrup once when the cough was bad about 14 months ago when my aunt had some, worked like a charm with a small dosage. I already deal with chronic joint pain and use medical marijuana as my substitute and works fine (have my prop 203 card). However my cough is painfull and wont let me sleep at night.
