Been taking tylenol #4 for over 4years. Prior taking tylenol #3 for 11 years, my Dr switched to tylenol #4 due to increased pain level. I take it responsibly, 1/4th at a time with 1/4 Phenergan. Have gone 60 Days aaa self test, no addiction. Must be a rarity. Never have had withdrawal from anything, not even Klonopin taken hrs apart of #4's. ## Not everyone becomes addicted to any given substance, some people are just not prone to it. The main question is whether or not the medication is working for you. The FDA warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Tylenol with Codeine Acetaminophen + Codeine

Codeine/paracetamol, also known as codeine/acetaminophen and co-codamol, is a compound analgesic consisting of a combination of codeine phosphate and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Co-codamol tablets are used for the relief of mild to moderate pain when paracetamol or NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, aspirin or naproxen alone do not sufficiently relieve a patient's symptoms, or where their use is ill-advised. In 2019, it was the 173rd most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more...

I'm taking tynelol #4 with codeine now. Is there a tynelol 5 or 6 with codeine available? I need more relief. ## Hello, Oreo! How are you? No, the maximum dose available is the one you are currently taking. However, there are other pain medications available that are stronger, such as Vicodin and Percocet, so you may want to inform your doctor, so you can explore your other options. The FDA does warn that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is it possible to get the codeine without the Tylenol and or is dilaudid a better than Tylenol w/codeine? ## Yes, Codeine is available by itself, with the Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Dilaudid, however, is a much stronger analgesic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes, you CAN get straight Codeine(anytime you can get a med w/o Tylenol, please do so as it's less damaging to kidneys)& this way YOU can control the amt of acetaminophen you injest. As for which med us better? That all depends on your need for pain relief AND what your Dr. recommends. I'm in stage IV kidney diseas...

I got my script filled today for my pain I'm having from a miscarriage. He said he wrote me script for Tylenol with codeine but they're not helping much, and here it says it's just Tylenol.. Is it just Tylenol or does it have anything else to help with pain? ## Hi Miranda - Sorry to hear about your pain and miscarriage. Do the pills have any other letters on them? I ask because there are Acetaminophen pills with A325 stamped on them, but they also have the letters GPI above. (see NDC 0904-1982 for example). Those pills do contain the active ingredient found in regular Tylenol, but without Codeine. Does the photo below match what you have?

Just need to know if I can alternate between norco and Tylenol 3 with codeine? I cannot get any more detailed than that ## Hello, Jenny! How are you? That can be done, as long as your doctor has prescribed them both for you and approves. Note the word ALTERNATE. They should not be taken at the same time. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications? ## Can I take 1 tablet of Norco 7.5 plus 1 tablet of tylenol 4? ## Not recommended, especially not at the same time. Norco contains one opioid ingredient (Hydrocodone), whereas Tylenol # 4 contains Codeine, which is another opioid ingredient. Also, they both contain Acetamino...

What is the equivalent of norco 10 mg to Tylenol W codeine, is it a #3 or #4 ? ## Hi brian, I'd recommend double checking this with your doctor first just to make sure it's accurate, but according various opiate conversion charts I viewed online, 10mgs of Hydrocodone has an estimated equivalency to about 60mgs of Codeine. And in that respect Norco 10/325 should be similar to Tylenol #4; which has 60mgs of Codeine + 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Does anyone else find this to be true based on personal experience?

How many Tylenol 3 can be taken to equal the strength of norco 7.5? ## Hello, Curious! How are you? You'd need 50mgs of Codeine to equal each 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone. However, you cannot double up, without your doctors approval, because you risk overdosing on the Acetaminophen in the Tylenol 3, which can be very dangerous. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am a hospice patient and was prescribed 1 - 2 tylenol #3 every 4 hours. I was wondering if this is a strong opiate? I would like to be as comfortable as possible but also keep my mind active and alert. ## Tylenol 3 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, which a very mild opiate. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications? ## i have an emergency pack from hospice in the frig which contains morphine but i haven't taken anything from my care box yet
