When I just posted the ms contin is 100 mgs. a day 2 15mg. ir which the ir I can't even tell the difference ## We have many complaints on here about them not working as well and causing odd side effects. If it were me, I'd print some of the pages and take them in to show my doctor that I am not the only one with a problem with them. Here are the links to just some of the discussions on our site about it: As to the problems you have had with the new formulation, I strongly suggest you report it to the FDA and Purdue at the following numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 The strongest medication for pain that is currently available by prescription is Fentanyl, it is actually over 80 time stronger than Morp...

The manufacturer is Purdue Pharma and they have completely replaced the product with the new one that had the OP marking. It had been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Have you tried asking your doctor about trying a different medication? There is a time released Morphine available, as a generic and name brand. The brand is MS Contin. Side effects...

Which is stronger? My new insurance won't pay for oxycontin and substituted generic percoset but it doesn't seem to work as well. Is it my imagination? ## Hello, John! How are you? Oxycodone and Oxycontin are the same medication, Oxycontin is just a name brand for the time released version of it, so the 30mgs is stronger, it's just released slowly over an 8 hour period, as compared to the regular release that is released all at once. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. You may want to ask our doctor about possibly trying MS Contin, it is a time released formulation of Morphine that is also available as a generic, so most insura...

Since the pharmacutical company has changed the Opanas my medicine isnt doing what I need to relief me of my pain, what are the best medications should I talk over with my Doctor in order for me to get that will give me the satisfaction of not hurting constantly like the old Opanas did? ## There is a time released medication available called Exalgo, which contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, it is also a very potent narcotic. Another option would be MS Contin, which is a time released formulation of Morphine, it's also available as a generic. Have you talked to your doctor about it, yet? ## I am on 4 30ml Oxy ir and 2 30 ml of morphine sulfate the morphine makes me nauseated. What should I ask my doctor to switch me to 40ml Oxy ER? ## If in the USA try immediate release Opan...

I have been prescribed opana 40mg for almost two yrs. I really wanted to be optimistic about the new formula but it does not work! Very little to no pain relief from these plastic pills! Now I'm spending sooo much time online looking for an alternative, but not having much luck. Nothing out there equivalent? How could Endo turn a great med into the worst?? I understand the need to make safer, but this is crazy...extreme! Why make them at all? Can anyone suggest a medication that I can switch to?? ## Have you talked to your doctor? You might be able to try an equal dosage of Oxycontin, though most users of it have similar complaints due to the reformulation. I think the only option left that hasn't been changed recently is Ms Contin, which contains a time released formulation of ...

MY DR TOOK ME OFF MSCONTIN 60MG AND PUT ME ON E658/100 MORPHINE SULIFATE. I AM AFRIED TO TAKE IT, AND MY PAIN IS STARTING TO HURT REAL BAD. I HAVE CONJESTIVE HEART FAILURE, I DO NOT WANT MY DR TO KILL ME ANY FASTER. WHAT WILL THIS MORPHINE FEEL LIKE WHEN I TAKE IT. BEING THAT NOW IT IS A 100MG. ANY BODY KNOW BECAUSE I PANIC REAL BAD LIKE THE SKY IS FALLING IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. ## Morphine is exactly what you were already taking in the MS Contin, that was just a name brand for the time released formulation and this is a generic. Any effects you experience, when taking it, should be similar to those you experienced when you first started taking the MS Contin, such as dizziness, nausea, dry mouth and constipation. Is this same doctor aware that you are suffering from CHF? Narcotics can...

the old oxys were better when on the new ones it got worse why change it?on opana er 30's was onoxy 60s opana DOES NOTHING WHY? ## what does a roxi 224 look like ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is very effective for some people, but like any medication, it doesn't work for everyone. Have you tried talking to your doctor to see what else you can try? If the new Oxycontin formulation isn't working for you, perhaps you should try MS Contin? It is a form of time released Morphine. The 30mg Oxycodone pill with the marking 224 on it should be round and blue, with the 224 on one side. It is a generic for Roxicodone, which is a regular release formulation. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Are there ...
