Some people did about as good of a job explaining that as my 3 year old. Thanks A LOT, I feel so much better now to have read the obvious Cr controlled release to IR instant release. Just a heads up, some dumb nurses do prescribe as hcl and you get the worst generic possible if they do, so care to imply. ## Hello, Carolyn! How are you? As to the release formulations, what other details do you require? That is the only difference, the time released CR is released over a period of 12 hours, while the IR is released instantly and the regular release takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start working and it's all released immediately, as well. As to the HCL, that actually has no effect on the medication you receive from your pharmacy. HCL stands for Hydrochloride, which designates the specif...

I would lyk to kno the difference between a 215 and 224 oxycodone?? ## @Brindle, Both pills contain 30mgs of Oxycodone hydrochloride. The primary differences are that they are manufactured by different drug companies. "A 215" is made by Actavis and "224" is made by Caraco Pharma. The other notable differences patients should be aware of is that they each contain different sets of binders/fillers (also known as inactive ingredients). "A 215" contains: corn starch + FD & C Blue No. 2 + FD & C Blue No. 2 Aluminium Lake + lactose monohydrate + microcrystalline cellulose + silicon dioxide + stearic acid + glycolate "224" contains: lactose anhydrous + silicon dioxide + magnesium stearate + microcrystalline cellulose + corn starch + sodium starch glycola...

I keep searching and STILL don¨t have a straight answer. I am currently on 30mg, 3 times a day of OXYCODONE (legally prescribed) for horrific back pain..... ¿WHAT is the difference between the 2, if any, besides the NAME? oxycodone AND oxycontin........ PLEASE help me out! thanks! thanks!! ## Its the same drug - Oxycodone. One is time released (Oxycontin) and one is immediate release (oxycodone). If they changed your meds from Oxycodone 30mg 3xper day (total of 90mg a day) to Ocycontin it would be probably be 40mg 2x a day with breakthrough meds. ## Pita's comment is basically true. Though OxyContin is technically oxycodone hydrochloride - a slightly different formula, but yes -- essentially the same drug. The major difference is the time-released delivery of OxyContin as ...

I had surgery on my foot/ankle about 5 days ago. My dr prescribed percocets 5-325 for the first few days and now oxycodone hcl 5. I have only been prescribed percocets after my 3 c-sections so I don't really know a lot about pain killers. I asked my dr what the difference was and she rambled a lot of big words which I didn't understand. I have tried researching but all of the info is so technical. I pretty much want to know.. in layman's terms, or from someone who is or had taken at some point what the actual difference is besides the percocets also have tylenol in them. Is one stronger(even though they are both 5 mg of oxycodone), last longer, different side effects besides liver with use of tylenol? I am asking because I feel like the percocets helped more with the pain an...

I have been taking oxycodone acetaminophen 10/325 for some time; now my pharmacy has changed to oxycodone hydrochloride. It bothers my stomach and doesn't seem to work as well. What is the difference between the two? ## The second one you've listed just lacks the Acetaminophen, going by what you've said in your post. What is the dose of it? The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The Acetaminophen does help it work better, for some people.

Hello. What is the difference between A333 & A 3333, if they're *BOTH* supposedly a watson generic of percoset 10/325??? Thank you! :-) ## @confused, I have yet to find any specific details on a pill marked A 3333. "A333" on the other hand is reported to be a generic Percocet, containing 10mgs of Oxycodone hydrochloride + 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Actavis (formerly known as Watson) however is listed as the manufacturer. Where did you come across a pill with an extra "3" at the end? I wonder if it's a misprint...

I have Oxycodone Hydrochloride with the Imprint A 48 on it, I used to take the ones with K 56. What is the difference? Are they extended release? How many hours apart can you take them? ## Hello, Erin! How are you? They are the same medication, just manufactured by different companies. In this case, the one with the A 48 marking is manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals and they list it as being in a regular release formulation. As to your dosing schedule, you should follow your doctor's prescribing instructions as it can vary from person to person, anywhere from 6 to 8 hours. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there a...

What is the difference between Watson white 10 / 650 and the green Watson 10 / 650? ## The first notable difference is that Watson 825 contains oxycodone hydrochloride, while Watson 503 contains oxycodone bitartrate. I'm assuming that this is what effects the overall absorption rate of the drug itself. Another difference is that each of these pills contain a different composition of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that may also have an impact on how efficiently the drug is metabolized. In addition to that, both of these tablets are generic versions. The FDA permits generic meds to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient. So if one tablet has -20% and the other has +20%, that's a 40% difference in dosages; and for some people this probably feels equi...

Oxycodone 15mg. Imm.rel. Oxycodone 15mg. HCL 15 MG. What's the difference? The Hcl. Seems weaker to me. ## Hello, Norris! How are you? Well, there is no immediate release in this dosage, only in the regular or time released formulations. And there is no difference, they are both Oxycodone Hydrochloride, the HCL just wasn't included on the one. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

what is difference between M 357 and Watson 932 in terms of effectiveness? ## Watson 932 is Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Oxycodone hydrochloride (10 mg). M357 is Acetaminophen (500 mg) + Hydrocodone bitartrate (5 mg). That said, the comparison lies between Oxycodone and Hydrocodone. My research shows that Acetaminophen + Oxycodone is used for acute (short term) moderate to severe pain. While Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone doesn't specify being, quote "short term". Is the Watson 387 oval shape white pill the same as a Percocet? ## Watson 387 is a combination of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone bitartrate (750 mg - 7.5 mg). Percocet is a combination of Acetaminophen + Oxycodone hydrochloride. They are both used to treat moderate to severe pain. As I am not an MD I can only guess that the difference is minimal. You can compare the drug articles for each one by referring to the links below... Round yellowish/gold pill with a M in a square around it on 1 side, and 505 on the other (I think). What is this? I was told it was a Percocet 40. ## A round yellow tablet marked [M] inside a box on one side and 595 on the other side is Oxycodone Hydrochloride Extended Release 40 mg (NDC 00406-0595). The difference between Percocet and this is that Percocet also contains Acetaminophen (Tylenol). Manufacturer: Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals Hope this helps! ## The closest match I could locate is a pill imprinted with "M" on one side (not in a box) and "505" on the other. It is also a white pill and not yellowish/gold as you described. This pill is identified as Bisoprolol fumarate (10mg) + hydrochlorothiazide (6.25 mg); which is used to treat high blood pressure. I am recovering from the Whipple Procedure for pancreatic cancer performed last April. I have severe and at times chronic pain / nerve damage in the incision area. My Dr started giving me inj's. in my Celius Plexus Right Quadrant, every 3 weeks accompanied by Oxaydo 7.5 mg & Butrans 20 mcg patch. My pain is off the charts & just not quite sure if these meds work. I will be getting my 3rd shot next week - I hope it will be better than the last one. The first inj. I noticed a major difference, but the second one was not as effective. ## Hi Tia, Oxaydo (Oxycodone hydrochloride USP immediate release tablets) should theoretically start working right away, probably after 20 minutes or so, albeit's somewhat different for everyone for various reasons (e.g. taking it with food, o...

what's the difference in the different shapes and colors and printed numbers on Percocets? ## Hi Sharon, A round yellow pill marked with "C 230" is reported to be a generic version of Percocet containing 10mgs of Oxycodone hydrochloride + 325mgs of Acetaminophen, used for moderate to severe pain. And this particular pill is manufactured by a company called Alvogen. However I think it goes without sayin' that all of the different shapes, colors, and imprints you see on any given pill are simply indicators for identifying various manufacturers, dosages, and of course the substance(s) - including inactive ingredients. I just went through surgery. Prior to surgery I was given a generic of Percocet - IP203 , after I received plain pill, no letters but 512 on one side, what is the difference, if any please as I am concerned. Thank You ## Both "IP 203" and "512" contain the same two active ingredients Acetaminophen 325mg + Oxycodone hydrochloride 5mg. The primary noticable differences between these two pills are the different manufacturers they are made by, as well as each pill containing different inactive ingredients or fillers. Inactive ingredients or fillers can effect how efficiently the drug is absorbed into your system and therefore determine how effective it might be over another similar pill with different inactive ingredients. Inactive Ingredients in IP 203: silicon dioxide cros...
