Has anyone ever seen a round 100 mg morphine pill that is green cause I have only ever seen the 200 mg ones come in the color green so if there is a 100 mg green morphine that is round what are the imprints that are on it ## Hello, Fefe! My friend brought me a half of morphine 200mg for my pain I was having due to wisdom teeth growing in. I've never took them before it said omj 200 on it. I was scared to take the whole thing so I cut the half she already brought me into a half of a half. Will I be ok? my friend ate a 200 mg morphine pill and threw up and is in tremendous pain and falling asleep. does she need to go to hospital? ## It is NEVER a good idea, when you are afraid that someone's life or health may be in danger, to post on a free information website and wait for an answer!!! this site is not medical professionals and could not help in such cases. Always call or take the person to your nearest emergency care facility. That said, the only 200mg Morphine tablets in the U.S. are time released and if she ate, so she received all of the Morphine at once, yes, she could have gotten too much of the medication, especially if she does not take it regularly. Can this pill be broken in half and taken? 200 mg is very strong. Half of that dose would be more agreeable. Will it still work as it should? Just not as strong? ## Generally, if the medication is not in an extended release form, I don't see why it wouldn't be safe to divide the tablet in half for a smaller dosage. However, this particular tablet does appear to be extended release and therefore I would NOT encourage anyone to tamper with it in any way, even for legitimate reasons. Just to be sure we are on the same page, this is an oblong green pill with [M] on one side and "200" on the other. And it reportedly contains 200mgs of Morphine sulfate SR (slow release). I have been tapering off of 60 mgs of morphine for the last 3 months. I've been on it for 10 years. First on 120 mgs then in 2009 went to 90 and then to 60 by 2011, up to 90 for 9 months after tri level fusion in neck between c4-c7. Best thing I ever did was the surgery and it wasn't a bad recovery at all. I'm very happy with it. Anyway now I'm down to 5 mgs and thinking about just stopping. PLEASE HELP ME, I am so frustrated. I got a shock last week when I went to pick up my monthly prescribtion of morphine sulfate er 200 mg. I take 3 per day for my pain. I usally pay $225.00 for this rx well it jumped to over $1,000.00! I don't have insurance so I pay the cash price and have for over 5 years now for this medicine. I can't seem to find a replacement opiate that is time released the only one I found is oxycontin 60 mg. I get 90 pills every month. The price for the oxycontin is also over $1,000.00. What is going on with this increase? Does anyone have a suggestion on a medicine that is not so expensive? It does not have to be time released. Please help if you can. For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. I am in a confusing debate with my ex husband: Which is stronger, 30 mg of morphine sulfate E.R or 10 mg of methadone? ## Methadone is stronger than Morphine, just as an example, if you were taking the 30mgs of Morphine, the equivalent dosage of Methadone would only be 3mgs, so it's a roughly 1mg to 10mg ratio. They are two different kinds of medications, Morphine is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. While Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflamamtory and its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding ands stomach irritation. Have been on 240 mg morphine sulphate per day for 6 yrs and of course is not doing as best as it used to for me to function in my daily life. I want to ask for a conversion to an oxycodone type med since I have been accumulated to that before..I have the back syndrome of HANDS OFF by every doc since 2004 to present. Concomitant use can result in an increased risk of central nervous system depression, which can result in lowered breathing rate, lowered heart rate and lowered blood pressure. How much 200 mg ms contin equals 120mg oxycodone? Also if 90mg oxycodone is taken in the morning then 2 more 30mg pills thru the day how would that be equated with 200mg ms contin for ALL DAY RELIEF? ## Oxycodone is one a half times stronger than Morphine, so for each 120mgs of it that you were taking, you'd need 180mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. So, you'd need 135mgs of Morphine to equal the 90mgs of Oxycodone and 45mgs of Morphine to equal each of the 30mgs Oxycodone tablets, for a total of 225mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. My husband has a history of back pain since 1985. He has had 3 back surgeries, epidural injections and 2 spinal column stimulator implants. His last surgery in 2006 was quite successful. He was on 180 mg of Avinza and percocet for breakthrough pain. He has gradually reduced his medication to 30 mg twice daily of morphine sulphate and has maintained this dosage for 2 years. We have been patients of this primary care group for 25 years. The doctor that we both had been patients of retired, so we now see another MD from the same group.
