I was prescribed this medicine and it says for severe pain, is 5 mg the Lowest amount you can get or is it higher than 7.25? ## It comes in hydrocodone 5mgs, 7.5 mgs and 10 mgs. There is 500 mgs of tylenol in it. The 5 mg is the lowest dose in pill form ## Hydrocodone, which is the generic for Vicoden, is what I was prescribed after Percocet didn't give me much relief. I then was switched to Roxycodone, because I have elevated liver levels in my blood work, and the Tylenol can worsen that. I am now prescribed 30 mgs. of Roxycodone three times a day. Whether it be Percoset, Vicoden, or Oxycodone or Roxycodone and going up to more powerful pain medications, they are all so very addictive. My suggestion for everyone that is given a prescription for any of these is to try your hardest t...

Saw a new ortho surgeon. Was taking Hydrocodone/Acetamenaphine 10-325. For lower back pain. He said "oh no, Don't take that!" and presribed Tramadol 50 mg. Why? ## Because it can be highly addictive. Also it is going to go from a Schedule III to a Schedule II, Oct 6, 2014. That means no refills, it can't be called in and you must see your dr at least every 90 days. Even though Tramadol can also be addicting, the risk isn't as great. Tramadol became a Schedule IV Aug 18, 2014. ## Hello, Pete! How are you? Your doctor may also be concerned about the Acetaminophen, taking it for a long time creates the risk of liver damage or failure. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation...

Hello: I'm 62 yr. old man, taking Hydrochlorothiazide & Metoprolol for high blood pressure. Have moderate to severe osteoarthritis and recently had an auto accident with a bad case of whiplash. Dr. is prescribing 5-325 hydrocodone for pain in back & neck (I weight 265-270). 1 every 8 hrs. Some days it works ok but never eliminates the pain..... Should I cut them in half and take every 4 hrs? Am afraid od getting addicted. By the way, I've previously been told by same Dr that I do NOT have an addictive personality.... I don't understand. I hate taking any medication. How about people that have to take similar meds for long term pain care... can they avoid becoming addicted?... I'm concerned due to the fact that I was just told this week that the arthritis in my sp...

Is tylenol 3 addictive, like oxycodne or hydrocodone? Is it also a class 2 med? I have chronic pain from a traffic accident a few years back (damaged pelvis & lower back, shoulders, etc.). I am quite active on "good days", like riding my Harleys, and don't want to be stuck having to take pain meds on days I can get by with regular tylenol (and wish to drive & be 100% alert). Thanks for your help, Stood ## Hello, Stood! How are you? Tylenol 3 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, so while it still has the same potential to be habit forming as the others, it is a much milder analgesic. However, if you don't take them all the time, on a regular basis, you won't become addicted to, or dependent on any of them. That only occurs with regular use and/or abuse of them....

WHITE OBLONG WITH THE LETTER V ON ONE SIDE AND THE NUMBERS 3536 ON THE OTHER ## Is there a possibility that it says 3596 instead of 3536? If so, then it would be hydrocodone 7.5mg and acetaminophen 750mg. This is a narcotic pain reliever by the name of Vicodin. It is highly addictive and can cause constipation, lightheadedness, marked drowsiness, euphoria. If the tablet really says 3536 then I am unable to find it at this time.

How long can this medication be taken? ## Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, the active ingredients in Vicodin, is a narcotic pain reliever that is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Side effects may include: nausea, headache, dizziness and constipation. As to how long it can be taken, that is something that you have to discuss with your doctor, because it can vary from person to person and narcotics can be habit forming and addictive. Are there any other questions?

sever back pai i have had it for 8 years i have three girls and i;m oh disabilty ## this is the strongest dose of a narcotic known as lortab, vicodin, and lorcet (all name brands.) they are extremely addictive as they are opiate narcotics. it is usually prescribed at the dose you have for moderate to severe pain. one has to be careful not to take too much or more than prescribed because it has a lot of acetaminophen or tylenol in it. too much can definantly cause irreversible liver damage. ## If you have chronic, severe pain, you should really be on a time release pain killer such as Oxycontin or MS Contin. The ones you are on are instant release pills which don't last more than 4 to 6 hours and in your case they should really only be used for breakthrough pain.

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS. IS IT ADDICTIVE? ## Yes, Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen (APAP) is very addictive. Many people suffer addiction problems from this. A common brand name of this drug is Vicodin. As with any prescription drug, keep your doctor informed of any and all side effects. More common side effects may include dry mouth, itching, pinpoint pupils, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, confusion, gas / heartburn, or flushed skin. If you experience irregular heartbeat or chest pain, difficulty breathing, wheezing, unusual weakness, cold / clammy skin, severe rash, fever, chills, or muscle aches and pains then notify your physician or prescriber ASAP! Also note that elderly patients have a higher likelihood of side effects. ## i have been perscribed hydroco/apap 7.5 now for 4 years. th...

pink oval v 3600 ## It hurts to pee, getting a burning sensation. I took two, they were pink OUCH! ## This tablet contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. This is a very strong, narcotic pain reliever, with high addictive potential. Taking two of these at once is NOT SAFE. As to the burning when you urinate is possibly a urinary infection and this does not contain an antibiotic, so it will not help to get rid of it. I suggest you see a doctor.

what is the difference between hydrocodon 5-325 and hydocodone 5-500? also should I take both or just 1 every 4 hrs as prescribed. ## The difference between the two is that the the first one you mentioned contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen and the second contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone, with 500mgs of Acetaminophen. The name brand for this would be Vicodin. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic, which can be addictive. and coupled with the Acetaminophen, which can be toxic if you take too much in a day, you should only take the amount you have been prescribed. This medication may also cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. white 503 ## Watson 503 contains Acetaminophen 650mgs and Hydrocodone 10mgs, this is a generic for Lorcet, a potent narcotic pain reliever. ## They don't make them like they use to cuz Watson is a sell out and now Watsons pills suck. The colored ones r better. ## If pain pills are addictive so what. If a person is in so much pain like myself they will be taking them the rest of their lives anyway. I was taking 200 mlg of morphine twice a day plus oxy 30's eight times a day and the quality of my life was never better

white oblong tablet V on one side 35-92 on other tablet is scored ## Yes, you are correct this is generic hydrocodone 5mg and acetaminophen (or tylenol) 500mg. It is generic for name brand Vicodin and Lortab, among others. It is a schedule 3 controlled substance, narcotic pain reliever used for moderate pain. It is very addictive and has side effects of drowsiness, dizziness, euphoria, constipation, among others. ## My grown son is about 300 lbs. I have just recently began a pain treatment clinic. I was prescribed hydrocodone 5mg with 325 mg acetaminophen. This is not working for me. What do I need to say to convince my Dr to change to oxycodone? ## How you tell the Dr. you want to change? That you want to change back to your old meds, pain pill. ## Just be honest with your doctor, tell them that the new medication isn't working for you, but you should do so, without asking for a specific replacement medication, let them suggest a solution, and then discuss your options from there. Oxycodone has a tendency to be addictive and is highly abused, which makes many doctors reluctant to prescribe it. It's other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Does anyone else have any advice to...

I had shoulder surgery and after 3 1/2 weeks I'm still having horrible pain. Dr prescribed diclofenac sod 75 mg twice a day. He had previously given me a prescription for hydrocodone/APAP 5-500 mg which I haven't been taking. However, my pain has gotten unbearable. Can I take both of them together? ## Hello, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Hydrocodone APAP (Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen) and Diclofenac sodium. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. It may be wise to speak with your doctor before combining these medications, just to be safe. Also, please be careful with the Hydrocodone APAP, Hydrocodone can be quite addictive. Ar...

Rescheduling hydrocodone/APAP combos to CII seems to have mixed results. I believe that it was the ignorance of the use of liver damage with exceeding 4,000.mg of acetaminophen and not necessarily the abuse opioid factors. Your thoughts. ## Prescription meds containing Tylenol, where limited to a max of 325 mg of tylenol effective Jan 2014. Rescheduling hydrocodone combination meds became effective Oct 6 2014. There is no connection because drugs are scheduled according to their risk for abuse and addiction. ## Continuing thoughts on the previous post: The way they schedule drugs "according to risk for abuse/addiction" should in my opinion, be reconsidered on many accounts. 1st being that addictive behavior only stems from those individuals who are not disciplined in their decis...

Yes, they contain 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
