Is Subutex A Suboxone

Why do people stay on suboxone for long periods of time? I was on 8 , 10/325s a day for 6months, and I was able to get off opiates with 2, 8 mg pills of suboxone. I took a whole pill (8mg) the first day, 1/2 (4mg) the next day, 1/4 (2mg) the 3rd day, and I stopped taking it. I saved 2mg just in case I withdrew. But I had little to no wd's. I would relapse a few months later for about two weeks. And was able to get off the opiate with just one 8mg sub. By taking a 1/2, a 1/4, an 1/8, and an 1/8 the 4th day. No wds. Knowing I had access to the subs gave me a way to use the opiates recreationally cuz it felt good. Kinda wish it wasn't available. But if it wasn't, I'd be stuck on the opiate. Thankfully I haven't used in 16 months cuz it can get expensive. :-\ ## well I a...

Learn more Suboxone details here. That is the only difference between them. Since it is a narcotic, it does have the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Have you talked to your doctor about the problem?

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I was on a high dose of methadone - 135ml & in total have been on that & now Suboxone & Subutext for a total of 10 years. I've spent the last few years reducing & am now on 2mg of Suboxone & 1.2mg of Subutext. I've actually had to stop reductions as I've been really sick for the last 7 months. I feel nauseous & weak all the time, occasionally throw up & burp up sick all the time. Sometimes I wonder if it could be that I am so low now on my medication, although I know by rights I should have stabilised & be fine. Would love to hear from anyone who has been on one of these medications for a long time & then stopped at a low dose for a while & had any problems for months. Thank you! ## You mig...

Is subutex better than suboxone for patients with hepatitas c ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? The final decision would be up to you and your doctor, of course, however most often Subutex is preferred, since it contains Buprenorphine by itself and doesn't include the Naloxone that's in Suboxone. Generally, it's considered the less medications being processed through your liver to tax it, the better. The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I live in NH and a long list to wait. I got into a situation I've been seeing the doctor always clean urine, never any issues then one day I go in and they swear they called me in but because I had recently moved I had given my moms # and she had her call history going back 2 months and no call at all. Unless they called my old # so now I go back on the list and have been waiting for 3 months. I'm a mess there is only one other clinic around here and its almost a year to wait.. I'm at a loss. There have been people I know that called and got put on the list way after the day this happened and they are already in. I just don't know what to do. She said there was nothing she could do but put me back on the list. And its driving me nuts because I know people who get their p...

I have been on Subutex for a couple years. The doctor I have went nuts and told me he is closing shop and hates all his clients. Anyway he switched me to suboxone film for my last script. I have been on it for 4 days the 1st two days I didn't feel great but it was manageable and now yesterday and today I am so sick. I feel like a I am in full withdraw i tried taking more but it made it worst. I have no opiates in my system I have only taken subtext for years. There is nothing online showing why I would be sick with the switch. I tried calling the doctors office but I think he closed down. Or at least he is closed today. ## Kansas city no suboxen ?????? ## Hey Marissa, That doctor sounds like he just couldn't cope with the pressure of being in this profession. Sorry to hear that ...

I have been on suboxone since 2008. 3 weeks ago I was switched to Zubsolve bc my ins stopped paying for the subs. Anyway the Zubs are awful. I've been sick for 3 weeks and am having to take 3x the dose I'm suppose to be taking. I'm going to the doc today to get back on the suboxone, yet I still have the ins problem. Has anyone been on both Suboxone and Subutex to compare the 2. Subutex would be a lot cheaper if it actually works. I don't want to buy another script that doesn't work. Zubsolv was suppose to be the same as suboxone, even better. It is a nightmare for me. It does not work at all like the suboxone. Anyone??? Thanks ## Was on buprenorphine for 3 years and My ins did the same thing.. I was on zubsolv for week and had the worst headache, felt awful.. Decided...

I have hep-c and finally found a Dr to give me Suboxone but I'm worried that when they find out I have hep-c they won't give it to me. I live in OKC, so does anyone know if I'll be able to receive the medication? Can you only get Subutex if you have Hepatitis C? ## Do not even mention your hep-c. It will complicate everything. Just take the suboxone and get on with your life. Also, you will have more energy taking suboxone. I know how hep-c zaps your energy. Enjoy your life. Good luck to you. Anyone who knows a lot about suboxone please call me at {edited for privacy}. ## Hello, Justin! How are you? The different between the two is that Suboxone contains Naloxone, as well as Buprenorphine, it helps prevent the abuse of other opiates, while someone is being treated with it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Dear VerWon, I now know the difference between suboxone and subtext. But, why would one Dr. Choose one over the other? Is the suboxone used for addiction and subtext used for just pain? ## Hello, Cats68! How are you? As I said in my prior post, Suboxone includes Naloxone to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is being treated with it for addiction and that is exactly why it is usually preferred over Subutex. Subutex is usually the choice when someone has a bad reaction to the Naloxone or is pregnant. However, both can treat pain. Does this clear it up for you? :-) ## Dear Dr. Thank u for the information. All cleared up. ## As for mself....I had major allergic reactions to generic suboxone pills as well as name brand and subutex. The only form of combination of meds was S...

I was needing to know if the m924 are subutext or suboxone I seen that they don't have the naloxone I'm them ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? Yes, they contain 8mgs of Buprenorphine, so they are a generic for Subutex. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos...

Surely I'm not the only person reading in shock and disbelief. How is it that so many people are unaware of the basic facts and information regarding bup. I am reading in horror that woman are trying to detox during pregnancy. That is the worst option - it is risking both lives. I also read a question regarding the effectiveness of mixing bup with methadone. Anyone using these meds should know it causes withdrawals, that's the point of bup. I feel lucky to have drug treatment services that are free but able to stand along what is provided to private patients. It's horrible to think of pregnant woman on bup having to come on here to ask for info and not telling their dr in fear of judgement or welfare. What is up with a woman thinking its an option to detox at five mnths preg...

You people have no idea about how subutex/suboxone works. 1 you don't need to wait anymore than 24 hours to start subs if using H. 2 subs are both agonist and antagonist so once you reach a certain dose they effectively block out any other opiate/opiod that you try to use. 3 taking other opiates/opiods while on subs will NOT make you sick, you just won't feel their effects due to the subs blocking properties. 4 subs are not the magic bullet for addicts as you also become dependent on them and after being on subs for a while you will find that coming off them is VERY difficult and extremely long winded, the best you can hope for is to taper down to the smallest amount you can (I'm taking crumbs here; break your pills into small pieces when you want to get off them) but even d...

Hey everyone. I hope that someone can give me some direction. I've been an addict for about 17 years. Long story short, I started purchasing Suboxone until I could get in treatment. I discovered that my body cant tolerate naloxone. Bad things happen! LOL. Rashes, headaches, and my breathing became very labored. That scared me. I came across the Subutex-which has no naloxone. I took those, and I was fine. I just cannot find anyone to prescribe me the Subutex since i've moved from my old location. I live in Eastern Ohio. My job puts me all over the state. So, i'd be content with a reasonably priced provider/doctor/psychiatrist/md/clinic ANYWHERE in the state of Ohio. If any of you can help me I would be deeply grateful. I hate to say this, but I feel hopeless & almost like...

I don't know how to go about this as I am shaking and can barely focus, I need help! Please. I fear that my life is going to end from my abuse of opiates. I am currently taking 250 mgs of oxycontin per day. I have a loving fiance and a stepdaughter that I want to be here for. I sit here with cold sweats, and fear going out just because I may make the fearful turn to the meds. Any and all info on how to obtain Subutex would be much appreciated. I ran out of subutex last night - can I take suboxone today? ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. Is your doctor also aware that you're taking both medications? ## Have only four 8 strips Suboxone to last until January 21st! I currently take 12 mgs day. Reason Im short?
