Is Suboxone Or Subutex Get High

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I was on a high dose of methadone - 135ml & in total have been on that & now Suboxone & Subutext for a total of 10 years. I've spent the last few years reducing & am now on 2mg of Suboxone & 1.2mg of Subutext. I've actually had to stop reductions as I've been really sick for the last 7 months. I feel nauseous & weak all the time, occasionally throw up & burp up sick all the time. Sometimes I wonder if it could be that I am so low now on my medication, although I know by rights I should have stabilised & be fine. Would love to hear from anyone who has been on one of these medications for a long time & then stopped at a low dose for a while & had any problems for months. Thank you! ## You mig...

I ran out of subutex last night - can I take suboxone today? ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. Is your doctor also aware that you're taking both medications? ## Have only four 8 strips Suboxone to last until January 21st! I currently take 12 mgs day. Reason Im short? They were stolen and I can't turn the person in as he is family. I have no concrete proof. anyway, I've be on this ...

This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos...

hi i'm a 29 yr old male with chron's disease and a very high tolerance to pain relief and i was just wondering if subutex/suboxone was better than the methadone for pain management i have been on 20mg of oxys twice a day for about 6 months and they only work when i double dose or boot em up and now the doctors are talkin about putting me on the beup or methadone program and i'm not sure which one has more merit if ya know what i mean lol ## The Buprenorphine in the Suboxone is stronger and doesn't have the same addictive tendencies that the Methadone does. People who no longer need it for pain, or addiction treatment, often have better luck tapering off and becoming medication free, as compared to Methadone, where they often require a lifetime maintenance dose. The withd...

I really wanna stop using opiates but i find that unless i am under the influence of them i have no ambition to work. I am done getting high and wanna clean my life up.I been taking subutex and find that its making me depressed. It helps me get threw the day and gives me motivation to work.I take suboxin but it makes me sick to my stomach and sometimes i vomit. Is there a way to help with these symptoms ## THe symptoms you are describing are normal side effects of the Buprenorphine that is in both Suboxone and Subutex, because it is still a narcotic opiate. However, the reason that Suboxone may be making you more nauseated is because it also contains Naloxone, which is used to help prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is under treatment with this and it can throw you into...

ok--I really want some documentation regarding these deaths caused by the use of Suboxone and benzodiazepenes ie; Ativan, Klonopin, etc., concurrently. I want to know because I have been taking Suboxone with Librium for months, and now am taking Suboxone with Klonopin. I only take 2mg of Suboxone, mind you the high end 'range' is 32mg a day! Does anyone really know 1) documentation and proof of these deaths that so called have ocurred, and 2) why am I still alive after taking these two drugs concurrently for over a year? Whoever can help me on this one is a GOD-feel free to email me at xxxxxxxxxx with any and all info you can muster up, it is ticking me off when i read people talk about this specific issue but I see no PROOF??? ## I take subutex and max out on xanax. I was on suboxone when i found out i was pregnant so they switched me to subutex but at 6wks 5 days i was told i had a large subchrionic hemerage behind my placenta and my babys sack and the babys heart was staying aroubd 100 instead of the normal 110 and higher. I went back at 8 weeks 5 days and they said my baby had no heart beat i was devastated! I got to reading my paper work and it said in it pregnancy complications due to subutex intake but they told me it was nothing i done. Im so confused did i kill my baby by taking the subutex this is killing me please help me! ## Hello, Kerry! How are you? I am so very sorry for your loss. Subutex is the preferred medication for use during pregnancy, so no, most likely it was nothing you did. As a matter of fact, in many cases, one can only r...

A friend of my husbands mentioned that he was taking subxone. I was curious as to what it was. He showed one to me but it looks exactly like a generic percocet but has different numbers. They are a round white pill with nothing on one side and on the other are the numbers 54 411. however, the only description i'm finding is oval and orange. Is this suboxone or something else? ## A white circle pill with nothing imprinted on either side is it a generic suboxone? ## There is no generic for Suboxone. Suboxone itself is an orange octagon tablet. It has N8 on one side and what looks like a high cross on the other side. There is a generic for Subutex. It is a white tablet and has 54 411 on one side. The 54 is above the 411. Hope this helps. Instead of relying on people who will take advan...

I'm 32 and I have been an opiate addict for about 3 years. It started innocently as treatment for my RA and just blew out of control. I tried detox and all that before and ended in failure, so I found a good Dr and started suboxone treatment and have not touched a pain pill since. However 4 months ago I found out I was pregnant and rather than risk a miscarriage from withdraw my Dr changed my script to subutex. I'm truly terrified of my labor because I have a phobia of needles so an epidural is out of the question for me. My Dr said they can give me a higher dose of pain meds thru my labor for pain but I'm so scared they will overdose me or harm the baby. What are the risks of taking pain medication while on the subutex? Does anyone know? ## I am not going to deny that labor...

I took a 12mg suboxone yesterday early am. When can I take my 25mg fentanyl patches?? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? Usually, you need to wait about 3 days, due to the Suboxone blocking the action of other opiates, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Suboxone, subutex, nor any form of buprenorphine will block Fentanyl. Fentanyl has a higher affinity for opiate receptors. I know this because I am on Belbuca (was on subutex) for chronic pain. I've taken all forms of opiates that exist! I don't want to be on oxycodone or any othe...

Hello my name is kev. I have been consuming about 3 to 6 mg of Subutex daily for about 7 months. I'm very eager to eliminate the Subutex and start on these Methadone. Is it safe to consume Methadone 20 mgs the day after taking about 3 mgs of Subutex? I heard Suboxone was the dangerous one, not Subutex and I also heard the taking Methadone after Subutex is safe apposed to Methadone to Subutex. Any answers would be highly appreciated. Thank you. ## People are just stupid. The buprenorphine is what keeps you from feeling high on other full opiates. The naloxone is only in the suboxone to keep you from misusing the drug. If taken properly the naloxone will not affect you. noone seems to understand that subutex is just as useful for opiate w/d as suboxone and it is the active ingredient ...

"I've been using 8mg of Subutex for about a year now and it no longer gives me any type of relief. Would increasing my dose help or is there another medicine I could take that would help my anxiety and cravings without using a benzodoazapine? Please help! ..." ## Hello Bpaul! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. You may require a dosage adjustment, the maintenance dosage to keep a patient from experiencing withdrawal symptoms can go as high as 24mgs, according to the information provided by the FDA. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted your doctor about the issue? ## I was on suboxone for withd...

I've been a Subutex patient for a year taking 8mg a day. If I get in an accident, how can a doctor treat me for pain. I've been worried about this ever since I started and I haven't spoke to my doctor yet. I sincerely do not care about getting high anymore and this really bothers me. Can somebody please help? Thank you! ## There is no need to worry, they will be able to treat you. Subutex only contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, it does not contain the added Naloxone that Suboxone does, which is the ingredient that neutralizes other opiates. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I take suboxone. I'm really trying to be 100% clean. I ran out of suboxone early and took 3 10mg methadone pills. I have never taken them before. I don't know if I should let them dissolve or how the mgs compare to a suboxone. I'm not looking to feel high. Just trying to end this disaster I got myself into. If anyone knows about these could you please offer advice? ## Stay with suboxon man. Don't mess with methadone I tell you it is bad. You will be on methadone for life if you keep on ## Yes, many people who take Methadone never become fully drug free, they usually end up on a lifetime maintenance dose, which is why many people prefer Suboxone, or Subutex, now. Why did you run out early? These medications are opioids that carry the risk of being habit forming, and may c...

Want to know how many 8mg suboxone strips it takes to reach the 'ceiling effect' which docs say is equivalent to 30mg of methadone? ## Sub dr. told me 32mg or 4 of the 8/2 strips. In my opinion thats way too much sub for anyone to be on anyways. ## I never felt suboxone, whether I took 1 or 4, subutex ceiling affect for me was 4 or 32 mg... ## Hey christian777, Your not suppose to feel suboxone. It doesn't make you high. You might feel something very slightly at first but that goes away quickly and you just feel normal. Ceiling effect just means that after so many mgs the drug just can,t do anymore for you. Thats why when someone needs more than lets say 30mgs of methadone to "feel right " suboxone may not be the best choice for them. Methadone has no ceiling effect ...

U took 4 7.5s perks around midnight will I go into withdraws if i take a 54 411 around 10am ## Dear highboi1989, u must wait until u r in withdrawals b 4 u can take the sub. If not, u could get sick and feel like crap. U should not take both together, either. It could b dangerous. So, remember, wait until u r withdrawing b 4 u take the subs. GOOD LUCK! ## There is nothing in Subutex to counteract other opiates, so someone does not have to be in full withdrawal to take it. Subutex contains only the opiate Buprenorphine. It does not contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does which so why you must be in full withdrawals, before you can take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth...

I have been abusing opiates for the last 5-6 years and I've tried a million times using suboxone to try and get off of it but I just can't bring myself to get sick enough to where I can take it, and the very few times I have it didn't work and made me sicker I'm guessing because my tolerance is so high. I desperately need to find subutex but am hearing from some people that doctors only prescribe suboxone now but I just don't believe it. There has to be a doctor somewhere that will prescribe it, especially since its on the streets! Can anybody please help?! Does anybody at all know a doctor that will prescribe it to me?? I live on Long Island in New York and will travel pretty much anywhere in the state to get it. Please help me!! If you don't feel comfortable po...

I'll add some additional information regarding Suboxone for anyone who is curious: Suboxone (Buprenorphine) is a semi-synthetic opioid that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages (>2mg), to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals in lower dosages, and to control moderate chronic pain. It is available in a variety of formulations: Subutex, Suboxone (Buprenorphine HCl and naloxone HCl; typically used for opioid addiction), Temgesic (sublingual tablets for moderate to severe pai...

I have been taking 32 mg suboxone/subutex for over a year. I switched to Methadone four days ago. I had my fourth dose of methadone today...50 mg. I feel like I’m in at least partial withdrawal, even though it’s only been 12 hours. There’s not much methadone built up in my system, so would it be safe to take subs now? I feel lousy, but I’m terrified of precipitated withdrawals. I’m guessing that wouldn’t happen, because the methadone hasn’t had a chance to build up in my system. Any advice would be so appreciated! I’m taking my recovery seriously, and I don’t want to relapse, which is tempting right now. Thank you so much in advance for any advice you might have. ## That's an awful high dose of Suboxone! I like a lot of other people got addicted to opiates by a doctor that convinced me of a back problem that I never had..at the worst part of my addiction I could swallow 50 pills a day. I was in my addiction for 5 years. I started on 8 mg of suboxone a year ago and due to the cost my dr. put me on 8 mg subutex.. I have since cut myself down to 4mg and can tell no difference from the 8-4mg. I am now in school and more excited than ever. My life has completely changed. I have no desire to feel high and if that is what anyone on this medication is looking to do, forget it.. You are defeating the purpose and wasting your money. My goal is to be completely off of this medication in the next 3 months. ## Hi there, it was great to blame a doctor but you went with a symptom in the first place .....
