Hello, I'm starting the prerequisite withdrawal period before my first suboxone appointment. I would desperately like to know if I can take a xanax or maybe a soma during this period to ease symptoms? Thanks so much for your time... ## Due to the nature of your question, this may be something best answered by your doctor who can make a more informed decision based on your medical records, current health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking any other medications, etc. However based on my research, as long as you're not taking the xanax or soma with suboxone at the same time, you should be fine. Reason being is that there are drug interactions between those medications that may result in increased side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. ...

I am trying to be supportive of someone who is addicted to pills (oxy, perc, vic-anything opiate). I thought I had an addictive personality until I watched him self destruct and lose everything for these things. He went to a 7day treatment center. And is now taking Suboxone. I used to do a lot of diff. pills when I was younger. Not even sure what they all were, I'm thinking mostly nerve and muscle relaxers, boyfriend used to just be like, here take these. I know we did somas, zanis and klonipin for sure, otherwise, don't really know. Took zanis about everyday, then we made a baby :) lol. Accident of course. Anyways, I am tempted just to try a Percocet just to see how it makes me feel. I just can't imagine losing everything I ever had for those things. At any rate, he is on S...

My husband asked his dr for a medicine to help him stop getting fever blisters everytime he was in the sun for long periods of time, he gave him a prescription for cyclobenzapr, read about it and it days its a muscle relaxer, will it even help with fever blisters and can he take it while on suboxone? ## Hello, KC! How are you and your husband? No, fever blisters are caused by a herpes simplex virus, exposure to the sun tends to wake it up and cause a flare, so this medication will not do anything to prevent them, because as you said, it is a muscle relaxant. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. It can be taken with the Suboxone, though it will increase the sedation and drowsiness, so this should be done with caution. The...

I have been prescribed to soma for six years I take five a day 350 mg and I also take one 8 mg Suboxone a day is that safe to take spaced apart??? ## You should not take 5 Soma's a day? Taking Suboxone with other drugs that make you sleepy or slow your breathing can cause dangerous or life-threatening side effects. Ask your doctor before taking Suboxone with a sleeping pill, narcotic pain medicine, muscle relaxer, or medicine for anxiety, depression, or seizures ## @Diane, Just wanted to validate that Eddy's advice is spot on and in alignment with what I'm finding on drug interaction checkers. Umm.edu specifically mentions that there's a "high interaction potential" between these two drugs, whereas using the two together may increased your risk for certain side e...
