I don't care what people say ... its a narcotic or it isn't... it makes u feel f***ed up, period! if u are a recovering addict & plan to stay clean, stay away from somas. I learned the hard way after a doctor prescribed these to me & I had told him I was in recovery.. doctors either don't care of they just don't f***ing know ! ## No it is not a Narcotic. Can it be habit forming & addictive? Oh yeah! ## @chris, It's true that doctors don't always know what's best for their patient's specific needs. And at the end of the day, I think more patients should try to take it upon themselves to do their own research and not leave it all up to someone who may really care less about their situation. To my knowledge Soma is a non-narcotic medication, but ...

What narcotic side affects are like the ones from taking soma ## No, Soma is NOT a narcotic, it contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol, this is a muscle relaxant. Some similar side effects to narcotics can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and respiratory depression. You can read more on this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Soma is so mild it barely works I defenitely need something strong klonopin works for me instead can I switch the two with regular md ?

My doctor has told me that that soma is a narcotic and she does not want to prescribe it to me any more. I suffer from chronic back pain as well as muscle spasms. I have tried other muscle relaxers as well as anti inflamatories and none of then do not work. Soma is the only one I have found to work for me without making me sleepy. Any information you can give me i would really appreciate. Thank you, Dana ## No, it is not a narcotic, nor is it related to opioid pain relievers. Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol. It has, however, been known to be habit forming and to be abused, by some people. ## Soma - Do they come up on a U/A? Muscle relaxer Cor 103 ## I have taken Soma/Carosoprodol 350 mg X 4 a day for 5 years. They do very little but relieve nureuthopy (spl). However, I recently got a prescription for Soma cor 103 and they messed me up. I am not taking them. All the other brands act the same, but this cor 103 acts more like a narcotic, and I do not take narcotics. ## Yes, COR 103 is Carisoprodol 350mgs, a generic for Soma. So not a narcotic at all. However, the reason it could be causing you to feel that way is the real nature of generic drugs and the laws that control the making of them. In truth, generic drugs are allowed to differ, in the ACTIVE ingredient, from their name brand counterparts by as much as PLUS or MINUS 20%. In addition, it DOES NOT necessarily have to be the same exact active ingredient ...

Is prosoma the same drug as soma caropisal 350 just wandering. I just received a drug called prosoma and was curious. ## Is prosoma a narcotic, does it contain hydrocone ## @Jason, To answer your question, yes, Prosoma 350 is a foreign version of Carisoprodol 350mg; possibly from Europe. @todd, No, Carisoprodol is not a narcotic, nor does it contain hydrocodone. It is just a muscle relaxant in and of itself. You can learn more here: Carisoprodol Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## I just got the prosomas also was there a difference in them compared to just the somas

I take narco 10s, soma 350, and the klonopIn 1 mg ... Is there any Otc medication that can supplement narcotics with? They just aren't taking the pain away lol they used to.. Appreciate it ## No, it is not a good idea to add anything else. The Norco already contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, as listed by the FDA. The Acetaminophen augments the action of the narcotic in some people that take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If your pain is no longer being alleviated, then it would be best to speak to your doctor. You may need a dosage adjustment or to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have chronic back pain and I need to find a doctor in Fort Collins Colorado who will prescribe me pain meds. ## Dr turner front range brain and spine. He will give you what you need in the way of pain meds however he is very professional and wont be fooled by liars. I myself was hurt legitimately and he prescribed soma and norco. His nurse on the other hand is a joke. Just deal with him direct and u should be fine. Good luck and i hope you get to feeling better. ## Hi. I'm 38. name is Christian. I just moved to Fort Collins from Amarillo TX. I'm on Methadone and Xanax and Renvila blood pressure sensor and a whole other plethora of meds. I'm looking for a pcp who can hopefully write narcotics too. I've got a spinal cord injury and end stage renal disease. I go to dialys...

HAVING UNENDING MUSCLE SPASMS IN UPPER BACK, ALMOST BAD AS A KIDNEY STONE PAIN YEARS AGO. WHICH IS BETTER I HAVE HAD SOMA,AND SOME PEOPLE SAY FLEXERIL.SOMA JUST MADE ME SLEEPY,ALSO TRIED HYDROCODON#5OT MUCH BETTER? ## Have you consulted a doctor? Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol and Flexeril contains the active ingredient Cyclobenzaprine, both of which are muscle relaxants, so they will only help if your pain and problems are caused strictly from muscle pain and spasms. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, that may help with most types of pain and there are higher dosages available that contain 7.5mgs and 10mgs of it. However, only your doctor is going to be able to help you determine what is causing the problem and arrive at a proper treatment option. ## Soma is the only med I...

Aside from the sedative effect of Xanax and alcohol, someone told me that some patients prescribed narcotics take Xanax to increase the narcotic effects? Is this true? ## Soma is a big favorite with narcotic patients but sure, it is accurate to say that Xanax does cause this effect to some degree. ## People abuse benzodiazepines. It’s a bad idea though. Take too many and you won’t even remember what you did. And it does intensify the effect of opiates and tends to increase one's risk of overdosing because of this. Please don’t do this if you wanna stay alive. Seen too many people OD or die. ## The effects are usually due to an increased severity of the side effects, when they are taken together, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsines...

is soma similar or in the same categeory as flexiril, and if not, what is the difference between them? is soma stronger and is it a narcotic? ## WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOMA AND FLEXIRIL ## Soma and flexeril are both muscle relaxers with soma being stronger than flexeril. However, soma also contains aspirin which flexeril does not. ## Thank you, Tracy! Tracy is spot on, except for one thing… Soma does not contain any Aspirin. The active ingredient in Soma is only Carisoprodol, which is a muscle relaxant. You can learn more Soma details here and you can learn more Flexeril details here. The one that contains other ingredients would be called Soma Compound and that one combines Carisoprodol and Aspirin, there is also another that contained both of those with Codei...

I've been in pain management for 20 yrs as a military wife. In Texas my PCM had to take me off soma that I was on with T3 soma over ten years and I switched from perc to t3 about 5 yrs ago. I had no problem going off tried several other muscle relaxers but they were too strong and drug me out. I know soma is suppose to be strong bug I took 3-4 a day for over 10yrs so I guess I built up a tolerance. I didn't feel any high but it helped the pain, guess that's why it was easy to quit except nothing else works for he pain. I am now on percs occasionally but take 3 norco 10/325 a day. I'd rather be back on the t3 and soma it works better and doesn't make me tired are there any Drs that will perscribe without the bs. I've also been thinking of trying the medical mariju...

Which soma (carisoprodol) generic is best? I'm reading that the 'cor 103' makes you feel like you took a narcotic but isn't. Sounds nice as I do not like them either but the relief they provided. what are the side effects of soma ## Do you mean plain soma or soma compound? Regular soma can cause marked drowsiness, loss of appetite, euphoria and blurry vision. On the other hand, soma compound has a narcotic pain reliever in it called codeine. It can cause addiction and constipation as well as the other side effects listed above.

Can you be on suboxone and take soma for severe muscle spasms and pain? ## Yes. ## I would not suggest doing so without your doctor's approval, but yes, narcotics and muscle relaxants are often prescribed together, to help control pain that one doesn't touch. Suboxone contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, it is used to help people with drug addiction and to treat some cases od severe pain. Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol, it is a muscle relaxant. Taking the two, together, my aggravate the side effects, which can include: nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dizziness.
