I take Lortab 10's, Fentanyl 100mg patch every 3 days and Ibuprofen. I stay in constant pain and wanted to know what I could switch to that would be stronger and help with my constant pain. I've been on all 3 medicines and alot of other medicine (not pain medicine) for over 3yrs. ## Yes, it only takes 6.67mgs of Oxycodone to equal each 10mgs of Hydrocodone, so the Percocet would be stronger. Learn more Percocet details here. Oxycodone is also available by itself, without the Acetaminophen, in a regular release formulation, so you also may want to ask your doctor about that. It is another narcotic opiate, so it also has the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have been on percocet 10/325. My little two new generation pharmacy has been closed since Thursday due to the holiday I am out of percocet can i take my hydrocodone 10/325 until late I can get my prococet? Is this safe? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? Have you obtained your medication, now? For future reference, you can do that, if your doctor approves, but you should be aware that the Oxycodone in the Percocet is stronger than the Hydrocodone, so you may not get as much pain relief. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

I have been on Norco 10/325 for 7 years for chronic pain and disc problems. Needless to say they quit working. Dr just switched me to Percocet 10. Is this stronger and will it help my pain? ## Hi Bridget, Sorry to hear about your situation. To answer your question though, YES, the 10mgs of Oxycodone contained in Perocet 10/325 is reported to be more potent than 10mgs of Hydrocodone in Norco 10/325. As to how much stronger it is, answers do vary... but from what I've researched, it's analgesic effects appear to be about 1.5-3x stronger. Does anyone else find this to be true as well? ## Thank you very much for answering my question. I hope it helps my pain. I have a 5 year old to take care of and there are days when I feel like I can't even get out of bed. ## Anytime Bridget! ... ...

7.5-750 Vicodin or 5-325 Percocet --- Which is stronger? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? These are actually equivalent. So, neither is really stronger, it just depends which works better for you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Vicodine IS Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is the name of opiate found in many different types of pain meds. Same as Oxycodone is the type of opiate found in percocets, tylox, roxicets, etc. Lortab, vicodine, hydrocodone, and many others are same just different names. It's the mg and the other stuff in pain pills that is what's important. ## Obviously percoce... ...

Which Is Stronger A 10 325 Hydrocodone Or Percoset
3 Replies RSS
Well my dr has me takin 10/325 hydrocodone but is switchin me to percoset jus wanted opinion on what was stronger ## The Oxycodone in the Percocet is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, and otherwise they both also contain Acetaminophen to enhance its effectiveness. 10mgs of Hydrocodone is equivalent to 6.67mgs of Oxycodone, so you will probably get better pain relief from the Percocet. Since it is also a narcotic, the side effects will be similar to what you are used to, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been hurting for three months. My primary docotor gave me hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-650 which has reduced the pain but not takin it away. I have been taking Hydrocodone 10/325 for chronic pain, 1 pill every 6 hours. My Dr. just prescribed Oxycodone 5/325 with up to 2 pills every 6 hours. Which is stronger? ## The oxy is stronger but who knows your body may b used 2 the vicoden. But if he is allowing u 2 take 2 @ a time it would b better if he would just give u the percocet 10/325 as it would b as effective with 1/2 the amount of aspirin. Try it out n post your feedback. ## Scott is correct, the Oxycodone is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone. To equal 10mgs of the Hydrocodone, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone, so I'd advise caution when you first take them, you probably shouldn't take 2 of them, until you try one and see how well it works for you. has tylenol been taken out of lortab 10/500 ## It hasn't been taken out, but reduced because of the effects on the liver. ## FDA now requires all prescription meds to have no more than 325 mg of tylenol in each dose. There is a form of Hydrocodone that does not contain tylenol. It is an Extended Release, it is Zohydro. ## Lortab 10/500 contains 10 mg of hydrocodone and 500mgs. of acetaminifen (Tylenol) if ya need something strong go on up to percocet (Oxycodine) and come in strengths from 5 MG's of oxy all the way up to 80 MG's. of oxy per pill ...

which is stronger hydrocodone 7.5/500mg oxycodone-acetaminophen 5-325 ## About the same as oxycodone is about 1.5 times stronger than hydrocodone. ## Regarding the analgesic effect, using a dose conversion, they are actually equivalent. Thus, it would really be a matter of finding out which one is more effective for you, since not every medication works for everyone that tries it. Since these are both narcotics, there is a chance that they could be habit forming and you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. my doctor switched me to Oxycod/apap 5-325 from Hydroco/apap 5-325. Which one makes you tired? ## Hello, CK! How are you? The Oxycodone is stronger, you only need 3.33mgs of it to be equivalent to each 5mgs of the Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Percocet details here. As to which makes you more tired, I can't really answer that. Side effects are individualized, so it will really depend on you and how you react to any given medication. is there a 15 mg hydrocodone pill
23 Replies RSS
i take norco 10/325 and wonder is there a stronger hydrocodone pill such as 15/325 ## No, the maximum amount currently available on the market is 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The only way to get a higher dosage than that is if your doctor specially orders it and it is put together for you by a compounding pharmacy. Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and is rarely given in higher doses. Usually, when someone isn't getting the pain relief they need from it, they move on to something else, such as Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. It is still a narcotic and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Try not to go up to percet. Why does oxycodone come in higher doses than hydrocodone?
1 Reply RSS
I'm trying to manage pain for degenerative stenosis and see that hydrocodone is usually in 5 or 10 mg pills, while oxy, which is supposedly 2+ times stronger, is in 20 , 30 or 40 mg pills. What am I missing here? ## Originally, since it has the Acetaminophen added, the Hydrocodone products, such as Vicodin, Lortab and etc. were meant to be only for short-term use. Just to treat pain that was expected to resolve in a week or two, such as what someone may experience after they've had surgery or been in an accident. Currently, the government is trying to transition it back to being used this way, by restricting how much doctors can prescribe and for how long, though they haven't completely managed to do so, yet. (This would be the same as the original intent for Percocet, which... ...

Watson 749 hydrocodone 7.5 or 10 mg

I have a damaged SI joint in my back from a car accident 12 years ago and also have fibromyalgia. I've recently noticed something and I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I've taken hydrocodone mainly for pain, usually 7.5 mg, but sometimes 10 mg. They make the pain tolerable but never seem to last long. I recently tried Watson 749, which I'd never heard of before, but they are percocet 5 mg. Both these and the hydrocodones I've taken had 325 mg acetaminophen in them. These 749 are awesome! They work faster, better and last longer! I understand that percocet is a stronger med than hydrocodone but a ten mg hydrocodone should be stronger than the 749, so why does this 749 work so much better? I'm taking percocet 10/650mg. I have (DDD), (Athritis), and the list goes on. I have a friend on Norco. Can you tell me what the difference is between them and the highest mg the norco comes in? THANK YOU SO MUCH! ## The Percocet is way better then the Norco, and the reason is because Percocet contains Oxycodone and Norco contains Hydrocodone. What im trying to say is Oxycodone is a stronger and longer lasting Opiate then Norco. {Edited for safety} just make sure to watch how much Tylenol/Acetaminophen ur taking, try not to take more 4000 to 5000mgs cause it can damage ur liver. The best Percocet you can get is 10-650 and 10-325 The best Norco you can get is 10-325 or Lorcets which are 10-650 . Will switching to Percocet from lot tabs cause any withdrawal symptoms? ## Hello, Cat! How are you? In theory, it shouldn't, because the Oxycodone in Percocet is stronger than the Hydrocodone. However, the doses will matter, can you please post back with them? For example, for each 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone you were taking, you'd need 5mgs of Oxycodone to be equivalent. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

What is the next step up from hydrocodone 10-325.? I take 3 a day and it seems to not be working as we'll anymore. I've taken it for about 2 years now ## Hello, Sammie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. The next step up would most likely be Percocet in the 10/325 dosage, since the Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone. Only your doctor can really decide where you should go from here, I'm just letting you know of other options. You could also go for something that doesn't contain Acetaminophen, such as Oxycodone by itself, or Dilaudid. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I guess that's it. What is the medication with these markings IP204? ## This tablet contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, this combination could be considered a generic for either one, though many doctors refer to Lorcet as being the product that contains 650mgs of the Acetaminophen. what is the difference between oxycodone and hydrocodone
16 Replies RSS
my Dr has changed my medication fron norco to percocet, and now my feet and ankles are swelling severely. What is the difference between hydrocodone and oxycodone? ## They are both narcotic analgesics, however, the Oxycodone is stronger than they Hydrocodone. Oxycodone, by itself, doesn't usually cause peripheral edema, however, it could be the Acetaminophen, since it can sometimes cause people to retain fluids and, if that is what is causing it, it would have also happened with the Norco. Have you consulted your doctor? Whenever edema occurs, it is very important to discover what is causing it, since it can be a sign of other serious medical conditions. Even swelling of the feet and legs can be a sign of congestive heart failure. ## This isn't listed as a common side effect in ... ...
