Are all generic percocet the same exact formula? The 4839V works fine for me but I just took 1 pill marked RP on one side and 5 325 on the other and felt really sick - numbness in feet, shallow breathing, chest pain. I've been taking percocet for breakthrough pain for years and never had this happen. ## My mother just received a new bottle of percocet 5 325 with R P on the other side. Can someone please tell me if one of the 5mg oxycodones without Tylenol is equal to a percocet 10mg? Is it stronger or weaker and would it only take one to equal the equivalent of a perk 10 or 2 of the oxycodone 5mg ## Hi Julie, To answer your question, 5mgs of Oxycodone quite simply does NOT equate to 10mgs of Oxycodone + 325mgs of Tylenol found in Percocet. Usually when people abbreviate the term "perk 10" this means that it contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and nothing less. I'm currently taking oxycodone 10/325 for a recent back surgery 4x a day. I see my doc tomorrow and he's going to start cutting me back slowly bc I've been on them a year. My question is, since I'm paying cash, is it cheaper to stay at the 10s and go to 3x a day, or stay at 4x a day and go down to 7.5mg? It's the same outcome of 30mg per day, I'm just trying to get the cheapest way. I've called a few pharmacies & they don't wanna give me prices over the phone. Anyone have any ideas on this? I was taking 5mg of Watson brand Oxycodone since 2006 they always took my pain away . In January 01/2014 when I got my prescription refilled they gave me a332/ 5mg / 325 oxycodone & they don't give you pain relief like Watson's 5mg do so my doctor upped me to a332 7.5mg/325 last year & they did no better then the a332 5mg/325 oxycodone did I only take 3 a day & it takes 3 to 4 hour's for them to work & they only last about 1 to 2 hours if they work I have had day's that 1 out of 3 worked & day's where none of them worked . well i had surgery and my surgen priscribed oxycodone 5mg.after my block they put on my shoulder i was in alot of pain so i went to see my Physician and she gave me morphine and i told her i was on oxycodone 5mg from my surgen. Was on Norco 10-325 on and off for a few years due to back problems. Had l4/l5 Laminectomy and was sent home with 5mg oxicodone. It's been 16 days since surgery and I tapered down from 2.5 yesterday. i'm on ocycontin 60mg 4xs daily my break through pain med is either hydrocodone 10-650 or oxycodone w acetaminophen 5-325 which is more effective for pain relief i have to chose one ## At that narcotic dosage, 10mgs of Hydrocodone, versus 5mgs of Oxycodone, they are roughly equivalent. The only way to see which one may be more effective for you is to actually try one of them and see how it works. The Hydrocodone option does have more Acetaminophen in it. so you may also want to base your decision on how concerned you are about that, since it can cause some stomach problems.
