I have been on Norco 10/325 for 7 years for chronic pain and disc problems. Needless to say they quit working. Dr just switched me to Percocet 10. To answer your question though, YES, the 10mgs of Oxycodone contained in Perocet 10/325 is reported to be more potent than 10mgs of Hydrocodone in Norco 10/325. My dr. Changed my 20 mg Oxycodone for Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10/325 Which is stronger because the 10/325 isn't working. ## The 20 mg. is 2 times stronger than the 10mg. The 325 part is just Tylenol . The 20 mg is oxycodone which the very strong part that kills your pain . Your Dr. Seems to have cut your pain strength in half. ## @Tessa, I agree with Smith, in that your doctor nearly cut your dose/pain relieving effects in half (even after taking into consideration the 325mgs of Acetaminophen - which is very subtle in my opinion). Subtracting that extra 10mgs of Oxycodone was the biggest alteration and is probably the reason why you're not feeling like the Percocet is working. May be moving to Florida. Will I have a hard time finding a doctor to keep me on the same pain meds, oxocodone 10mg? I have been on this now for 2 years & my heart and G.I. doctors know I take this prescribed by my primary doctor. I don't want to have to be put through the wringer for I didn't ask for this pain med. My primary changed it to this from norco due to the acetaminophen in my others meds. He stated that with my other meds plus the norco i was getting too much acetaminophen so he started me on the oxycodone. Is it stronger or weaker and would it only take one to equal the equivalent of a perk 10 or 2 of the oxycodone 5mg ## Hi Julie, To answer your question, 5mgs of Oxycodone quite simply does NOT equate to 10mgs of Oxycodone + 325mgs of Tylenol found in Percocet. Usually when people abbreviate the term "perk 10" this means that it contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and nothing less. I am currently taking oxycodone hcl ir 10mg 3 times a day as prescribed by my dr for 4 herniated disks with degeneration in my neck. I have very severe chronic pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm from this. The pills do help with the pain, but only last about 3 hours. which still leaves me in pain a lot of the day. Should I just inform my dr of this, or should I request a certain amount a day? I have been taking this amount for about 5 months now. I've been on oxycodone 10mg for several years. My pain management doc has been reducing my prescription by 5 pills each month to get me down to just 120 per month. Next month I will be at the 120 mark. I've been complaining as that 1 less per day makes a difference in managing my pain daily.
