I am prescribed oxycodone 30 mg tablets every month. I ran out a few days early and I just wanted to know if I could take 10 mg Percocet in the same quantity to keep my levels up? ## The problem with taking so much Percocet is the Acetaminophen in it. I've been taking 15mg of Percocet with Tylenol in them for a year. My dr just gave me a 20mg dose without the Tylenol, but it doesn't seem to be working as well. Why is that? ## The ONLY difference in the two pills is the Tylenol, and 1 of the pills (oxy 20) has 5 mgs more than the Percocet 15? I put the ? Amneal's oxycodone, generic for percocet 10/325 is white, oblong, blank on one side, and imprinted with IP 204 (not IP 203)! I usually take Watson or Mallinckrodt, 10/325, (2) tablets every 4-6 hours (240 monthly), but I was given Amneal today when filling my script, and I am not happy! I have cancer, and I also take morphine sulphate 30 mgs as well (1 every 12 hours), and Fioricet with Codeine for severe migraines (as needed)! My prescription called for 10/325 and I have for the pass 15 years been taking Watson 932. Now I have a yellow tablet by Alvogen, Inc. with a strength 325/10. Is there a difference? how effective is the pink pill 10 mg percoset ## Prescription pain medication effects every individual differently; and more or less in this situation because Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opioid that is made chemically. That is just my theory anyway. There is really no way a doctor can know ahead of time how any medication can affect anyone. They can only assume that it will be effective based on medical records, current health, age, what the condition is, whether or not any other medications are being taken at the same time, etc. Any of these factors as well as others can affect how you respond to this drug.

All the 10 mg Percocets work the same unless they are fake. U shouldn't be messing with pills if u don't know what you're talking about!! There is a noticeable difference in the pain relief level. Chronic Arthritis has left me virtually an invalid. Without these meds I have extreme difficulty moving and sometimes merely being at rest. I find the same prescription filled with Midlothian mgf to be less effective than the generic manufactured by Alvogen. Is there a difference in the formulation? I've been taking Norco 10/3.25 for years for severe chronic pain--It's now no longer effective at all--I'm wondering about changing to Percocet 10/3.25 and whether this would be a stronger, more effective and longer lasting med to take--I've tried also Oxy.10 mg. hcl and they work so so and notice I need to take way more often than I ever did with Norco. i'm on coumadin for blood clots and recently had surgery they put me on oxycodone 10 mg.tabs for pain and know switched me to percocet which contains acetaminophen should i be concerned? i guess what i'm asking is which is better to take with warfin? ## John, I take Warfarin and haven't been able to add or subtract anything without doing a series of the INR so that the Warfarin could be adjusted if needed. Is the doctor who prescribed the pain medication, the same doctor who put you on Warfarin? If not, I would call the doctor who is treating the blood clots to see if you need to check (INR) or what. Even Alka Selzer can effect how thin your blood is.

Can someone cause somebody in the FDA to check out this Rhodes pharmaceutical company? If the potency can vary by up to 10 to 20% what does that tell you? They're not all the same. I have had Rhodes for two days and they're pure garbage I don't know why the pharmacy changed who's paying who off but these are absolutely terrible. ## You have to file a complaint with the FDA just like I did. When I take these pills that I get from the pharmacy, the yellow ones they make me violently I'll like throwing up, about to faint and plus they don't get rid of the pain, it makes it worse it's unbareble. If this holds true and I did the math correctly, then 7.5mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 11.25mg of Morphine (7.5 x 1.5 =11.25); and 10mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 15mg of Morphine (10 x 1.5 =15). The addition of Acetaminophen in Percocet would probably top the 15mg of Morphine if you were prescribed the 10/325 dosage form. I hope this makes sense!? Is a tec 30 stronger than a percocet 5? Is taking a tec 30 the same as taking a percocet 30? ## If I am not mistaken TEC 30 contains 30 mg of Codeine, whereas a Percocet 5 contains 5 mg of Oxycodone. As far as comparisons go I had a look at the Equianalgesic table and it's showing that Codeine is 1/10th the relative strength of Morphine, where as Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine. So to break that down ... 30 mg of Codeine ≅ 3 mg of Morphine ... 5 mg of Oxycodone ≅ 7.5 mg of Morphine. In other words, a Percocet 5 is over twice as strong as 30 mg of Codeine.
